I am very happy with our results this month. A particular highlight is us reaching the Johnstone's Paint trophy to take on Norwich and we will finally be visiting Wembley once again which will be fantastic for the fans. Our league form has also been brilliant with only one defeat in seven league games and four wins. Hopefully we can keep this up and achieve the promotion we deserve. Come on the lads!

Port Vale 1-0 Brentford Topp

MK Dons 3-1 Port Vale Kakuta

Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final

Port Vale 2-1 Norwich John-Baptiste, Kakuta

I am absolutely delighted to be lifting this trophy for these fans. It is about time that someone brought success to this club as the fans deserve it for their continued support throughout the years. To think around two and a half years ago, the fans were at my head and rightly so, after I had a poor start. I can only thank the former Chairman Bill Bratt for keeping me on board and letting me continue my reign. Here we stand two years later with a beatiful trophy to celebrate. This is a fantastic day for the fans and everyone to do with Port Vale football club.

This is the third time that Port Vale have lifted the Johnstone's Paint trophy.

I am very happy with our results this month. We had mixed fortunes in the league, with only a win a loss and a draw to our names but our performance in the Johnstone's Paint trophy has overshadowed that. I am absolutely delighted that the players went to Wembley and brought the trophy home for our devoted fans.

With one game to go, at the end of the season, we are sitting in third place but have an inferior goal difference to Notts County. Because of this we will need to win our tough game away to Blackpool and hope that Southend get a result at home to Leeds and Norwich get a reult at Notts County. All we can do is win and hope, it is so tight that a slip up here cannot be afforded and this applies to both us and the other two.

Last game to come soon.........

Exciting stuff here Oakesy!

Waiting eagerly ;)

very good stuff! hope you get automatic promotion, don't fancy the playoffs at all.

Final Game

Blackpool 0-1 Port Vale

What a performance. The team worked their **** off for 90 minutes and in the end it paid off. We deserved to win this game but it will be absolutely worthless if none of the other teams slip up.

Southend 5-2 Leeds

Wow!! Thankyou Southend! This has confirmed us that we will be playing in the Championship next season. Lets see how Notts County went on to determine our position!

In a bizarre twist of fate that saw Port Vale start the day in third place, both 1st and 2nd place teams slipped up and allowed Port Vale to swoop and grab the League One title!

Daniel Oakes had this to say:

'' I am absolutely amazed how the results came for us today but I owe it to the boys for achieveing us a famous promotion! We showed that we were determined by grabbing a fantastic win on the final day and put pressure on the other two when they knew we were in front. As well as picking up the Johnstone's Paint trophy, it is an absolute honour to hold this trophy aloft for the fans! Thankyou and goodnight''

Yeah brilliant aint it

I can buy myself a Port Vale shirt out of that!

how much have you spent prior? I always made sure I was unde the wage budget with brentford etc and I never got a pount until we got to the prem and even then it was a measley £5M. whats vale's capacity like because if its like brentford then get ready for ***** budgets til you're in europe.

our capacity is 20000! Hopefully if I get promoted I can get something I can actually call a budget!

Thanks Friel
