They'd have the most expensive bench ever?

Valdes
Alves - Pique - Puyol - Abidal
Xavi - Iniesta
Kun - Messi - Villa - Rossi

Defensive midfielders ftl. ;)

Then they'd have THREE quick strikers who offer little else to the team! Guardiola = Tactical Genius.

Eh? Kun and Rossi both link play exceptionally well. Rossi's not exactly blindingly quick either.

You're ruining my conspiracy theories **** you! Although they're not especially in need of a Kun or Rossi any way. Both similar to Villa and they have uummm.. ooh.. what's his name again? Oh yeah, Messi - to link play.

Be that as it may, they both contribute to team flow. I'm sorry Joss, I just can't help correcting your rampant hate of Barca. It's like stopping a runaway train with a toothpick. ;)

To be fair, this isn't part of my hatred for Barca - more just coming down firmly on the side of: "Guardiola's squad, not him is the main reason behind his success"

From Twitter,

espanafutbol Now being reported in Spain via Cadena SER radio, that #Atleti's David de Gea will be confirmed as a #MUFC player on Monday.

So many rumors that De Gea will be announced as a United player after Champions league final, on Monday..

I really hope he coems to England, change of scenery and all that. With Man City being in the Champions League now and Liverpool vastly improving as of late. I can't see him joining his rivals and I have a rule that I hate anyone who joins Real! So much young talent there that will never get a chance.

Even United can pay the £45M, but it's unlikely we will..

Exactly. We can, but we wont. Even Barca wont spend that much either.

Realsitically only Madrid, City and Chelsea will throw big money on players.

Signing Aguero makes more sense than Rossi. Aguero can take Villa role and play better than him, while Villa can play in his natural postion.

Messi playing behind, or from right while Alves provides the width from right side..

Also, signing Aguero could make Messi even more prolific? Argentine national team and all that.

At the end of the day it is a team game. If they can make a step up, why not. Why should Barca think about Messi's goals.

And I dont think signing Aguero will make Messi any less prolific. When you play with only Mascha as CM/DM and depend on Messi for everthing, obviously he wont be able to score like he does for Barca.

At Barca Messi's role is different from Argentina.

Yet again, add us & Inter to the equation as well and you're right.

No. Inter can't. I dont know about Liverpool as we have seen them spending the money from Torres transfer money. Can they spend that sum without selling any player? I dont know. We have to wait and see.

Inter can. Their president has said already that if a big player is available, they will look into the signing of him.

We can as well. The owners have told Kenny there is no transfer budget and we'll assess each and every transfer individually. If a player comes up who could prove value for money we will look into him, as we are doing with Aguero.

Liverpool could, but they shouldn't. Same with us. Both sides have more pressing areas to look at.

Personally think those 'ITKs' who reckon he'll come to us should lay off the crack pipe a while. His transfer has been cooking a while and it would be a great surprise if the usual suspects in the Premier League weren't the ones who were putting the big money offers. But good 'ole Arry will put a bid in which'll just, just, be under the price he goes for. And Everton will claim they'd lined him up and agreed everything bar one minor but niggling and critical personal term and so were obliged to withdraw their offer. So everyone's a winner really.
