Or should I say 'eye'.. Wigan have always been a sucker for good goal scoring records in other leagues, Scotland and Sammon being prime examples. But he's only ever played in Ghana so it will be another massive risk, but one I'll trust. I think Bobby is going to move before the euros this time around.

He can't be any more of a flop than Mauro Boselli. ;)

I'd honestly forgot about him.. Think he may be off this window, he had a 3 year contract, may as well recoup some of our losses. But for me, why has Sammon got so much game time and he didn't?

I guess because Boselli cost £6,000,0o0 more than Sammon.. His contract is also worth a lot, lot more than Sammon's. You really need to recover some of that cash, Wigan don't have the best finances as it is.

Weirdly, I like Sammon, I know he's only scored like 1 or 2 goals in a Wigan shirt but he rarely starts and I think he's a very good player to have on the bench.
 
I think Estudiantes and Genoa paid us for his services in the form of an initial fee so that would have been some of the money back, but I think £2m for him this season will be the best we can get. Sammon is fast and when he does come on late, he does hold the ball up well. It is a shame that he hasn't scored more goals. Maybe next season.
 
Agreed, Sammon tries his hardest when he is brought on, and is always a handful. Of the few games I have seen Boselli play, he's looked a bit less.. enthusiastic. I think Boselli is back in Argentina on loan, and has scored a few goals this season, but only got 1 in 10 or so game when he played for Wigan?
 
He did complain that he wasn't comfortable with the weather. He scored a handful in preseason though but when it came to the competitive games he struggled. I still think he should have been given more time to adapt, but looking at the weather excuse now, maybe that's the main reason he has gone [back] to warmer shores.
 
Don't see what Holt's trying to accomplish here. He's at a club that's finally in the Prem, the supporters absolutely adore him, he's playing well, and so he tries to get a move. Odd.

Probably feels that at 31 its his last chance to play for a big club.
 
Could've fell out with the manager...or he might want to leave because Lambert is likely to...who knows. I wouldn't jump on him yet and say he's got an ego or whatever, we'll find out eventually why he wants to go.
 
Lukas Fabianski set to leave the Emirates this summer. Not sure how liable this is, but Adam Johnson want to leave City too, so is Nigel de Jong
