Connors continues his form from last month. Been linked along with Chalobah for European Golden Boy.

Hartlepool United 1 (Connors 49)
Norwich City 0

--

Arsenal 1 (Vydra 77)

Hartlepool United 0

This is annoying as Fellaini got sent-off for them early on and despite creating several chances we just couldnt convert them - cant blame Connors after his recent form though!!!

--

Hartlepool United 1 (Ward 66)

Manchester City 1 (Toure 54)

We battered them and should have won but once again we didnt convert enough chances. Connors got sent-off late on.

--

Sunderland 2 (Fletcher 18, Dzemaili 37)

Hartlepool United 2 (Kakuta 40, 56)

Pleased that we came back from 2 down to get a point but Connor Wickham had a late winner disallowed for us.

--

Everton 0
Hartlepool United 2 (Sinclair 24, Connors 90)

Everton are really struggling but this was a great win none the less.

--

Southampton 3 (Menez 27, Mayuka 31, Rodriguez 67)

Hartlepool United 1 (Connors 24)

Ouch!!!! We deserved at least a point. Chalobah got sent-off.

SUMMARY

Loads of games so it was understandable that we lost a couple. Next month will be a big month as we may be able to strengthen the squad to push ourselves towards the Champions League spot.

We have been drawn against Metalist Kharkiv in the Europa League.

SUMMARY

This month was less about results (which were good bar one) and more about transfers. I told the board we would qualify for the Champions League so they gave me an extra £17m to spend as well as a higher wage budget.

I added to those finances by selling Scott Flinders to Inverness CT for £1.5m and loaning out Jordan Clarke for £1m. Siegrist left for a small fee also.

The biggest news was regarding the incoming transfers. I broke the club transfer record by bringing in Marcelinho for £16.5m. I was quoted £37m earlier so to bring him in for this fee was a fantastic piece of business. He should be a RW!!!!!!
View attachment 474341

I had already agreed to bring in Adryan on a free transfer. I have never had him before and as you can see above he has settled in quite well!!!!
View attachment 474338

I brought in young keeper Ruben and CM Sun Gang in on loan and a young Polish player for much cheapness also.
View attachment 474335View attachment 474333View attachment 474334

In other news Jake Connors won the European Golden Boy award and he also received his first England call-up.

SUMMARY

The shortest month of the calendar year with the most games packed in!!! How we remained unbeaten, especially with the fixtures we had, is beyond me and credit to all my players for coming through it.

Jake Connors scored in every game he played without getting a MOM award, Adryan continues to shine and the rest are just performing well. No complaints!!!!!

Obviously the highlight of the month was us retaining the Capital One Cup which keeps up my record of winning a trophy every season. 4th place is my next aim but we are also in the other 2 cup competitions too!!!!

A tremendous performance. Just a pity we didnt score more.

Into the semis we go after my backups did a fantastic job.

Real Sociedad 1 (Xabi Prieto 12)
Hartlepool United 4 (Fueyo 2, Symons 60, Basic 70, 80)
(Hartlepool United win 6-1 on aggregate)
WOW - an amazing result - especially since we were down to 10 men for most of the game and I played my backups!!! I would have been embarrassed to lose this with my Bilbao links lol

--

West Ham United 2 (Carroll 37, Noble 64)

Hartlepool United 4 (Kakuta 15, 33, Adryan 82, Wickham 90)

West Ham are bottom but this is still a good win. We had a goal disallowed just before Adryan scored the winner too.

--

Hartlepool United 2 (Adryan 27, James 39pen)

Stoke City 1 (Rhodes 1)

10 wins in a row now in all comps.

--

Hartlepool United 2 (Kakuta 1, Baldwin 90)

We were awful here and hardly threatened the goal but when we did we made the most of it. They had a goal disallowed.

Another month and this one was with a 100% record no less!!! 4th place and Champions League football is looking good while in the FA Cup we will face Sunderland in the semis but the Europa League will be more difficult as we have to overcome Monaco.

The youth intake was fairly average and this was the best player....

APRIL

Hartlepool United 3 (Marcelinho 4, Kakuta 30, Connors 83)
Swansea City 2 (Michu 25, Bony 90)

Swansea are surprisingly battling against relegation and we piled more misery on for them here. Marcelinho got injured however and will miss the rest of the season.

--

UEFA Europa League QF 2nd Leg
AS Monaco 1 (Kadlec 90)
Hartlepool United 2 (Connors 70, Mahon 74)
(Hartlepool United win 6-4 on aggregate)

WOW!!!! I viewed Monaco as the toughest team left in the competition but we have beaten them home and away amazingly.

--

FA Cup SF

Sunderland 0
Hartlepool United 2 (Connors 57, Sinclair 89)

Into the final we go!!!!!! I was expecting defeat here as I played some players unfit and had to rest others.

Our 15 game winning streak comes to an end but we are 20 games unbeaten.

UEFA Europa League SF 1st Leg
Hartlepool United 4 (Connors 27, 31, Adryan 47, Wickham 86)

**** THAT 87th MINUTE GOAL!!!!! We have still got a 100% record in the competition though.

--

Queens Park Rangers 2 (Austin 19, Harris 49)
Hartlepool United 3 (Holden 35, Castrillon 37, Basic 80)

I rested players for the 2nd leg in Europe and my backups did brilliantly. 6pts clear with 3 games to go for Champions League footy for next season!! - we are also 6pts off top spot too lol

--

UEFA Europa League SF 2nd Leg

Benfica 5 (Oliveira 3, 9, 16, Salamon 71, Konoplyanka 76)
Hartlepool United 7 (Wickham 13, 45, Igor Augusto 52, James 61, Sinclair 68, 89, Adryan 87)
(Hartlepool United win 11-8 on aggregate)

WHAT THE **** WAS THIS???????

3-1 down after 16min to 5-3 up to 5-5 to win 7-5 is just stupid.

--

Manchester City 6 (Volland 3, 79, 90, Toure 14, 21, Aguero 87)

Hartlepool United 2 (Connors 62, 80)

OH!!! This was a thumping and a half as they move 3pts clear and we are 3 clear of 5th place.

SUMMARY

Goals galore this month - there were 20 scored in the last 2 games alone and 44 in 9 games overall. The highlight was our European games, especially the 2nd leg against Benfica, where afterwards we set the record in the Europa League both for goals scored and conceded!!!

With 2 league games left we are 4pts away from a Champions League place and in the running for a cup treble!!!!

MAY

Hartlepool United 2 (Sinclair 4pen, 42)
Arsenal 2 (Kean og12, Fellaini 57)

I rested players for the upcoming cup final against Arsenal and we got a decent point.

FA Cup Final

Arsenal 3 (Inigo Martinez 15, Fellaini 22, Kean og49)
Hartlepool United 3 (James 3, 41, 71)
(AET Hartlepool United win 4-3 on penalties)

THE CUP DOUBLE IS SECURED!!!!!

This was a thrilling final in which Luke James starred by netting a hat-trick to take his goals tally for the season in to double figures. Arsenal put out a weaker side due to them playing a full strength side against us a few days earlier where I rested my players.

I could have done without extra-time with the Europa League final coming up though!

--

UEFA Europa League Final
Lyon 0
Hartlepool United 0
(AET Hartlepool United win 4-3 on penalties)
CUP HAT-TRICK!!!!!!

Once again we come out on top in a penalty shoot-out. We dominated the whole game against a pretty average Lyon side and had a goal from Luke James ruled out but our players fitness levels deteriorated towards the end which led them to get back into it.

Bit annoyed we didnt win it outright as we would have won all 19 games if we had!!!

--

Hartlepool United 2 (Carmona og17, Connors 35)
Sunderland 1 (Altidore 14)

We needed to win to be sure of CL football for next season and win we did!

SUMMARY

Two more trophies go into the trophy cabinet and Champions League football for next season - a fantastic month!!!! Both cup finals were nervous affairs, against Arsenal either side could claim to deserve to win it but against Lyon we really should have won comfortably.

What pleases me even more is the fact I have learnt basic Polish so I will be able to leave soonish lol

End of season post to follow.........

END OF SEASON POST

4 competitions entered, 3 trophies won, bringing my career trophy record to 8 trophies in 5 seasons!!!! My aim for the season was to win a cup and qualify for the Champions League and its safe to say my aims were achieved.

My players transfer values have rocketed. Schwartz (who I bought for £0 for League 1) is my top valued player at £21m!!!!! At the moment I have spent £55m in total transfer fees and sold £20m in total but if I sold Schwartz, Adryan, Sinclair, Wickham, Baldwin, James, Holden, Kakuta and Al-Kamali who all cost nothing, its safe to say I would be in profit!!!!

Regarding how my players played Adryan was key. He came in in January and was involved in 21 goals in 25 games which gave us that extra push. Connors couldnt stop scoring, Kakuta and Sinclair played above themselves and Chalobah was the consistant rock at the back.

Indeed i thought it was the American guy but he must only be the main shareholder or something like that

I seen we had a £25m bid rejected. Im stunned we've actually moved to buy someone. How do you rate him? Not based on Fm details of course.
