Good point tbf…

The Premier League can't let people like the Glazers buy Man United on a leveraged loan deal, funding the majority of the purchase with a loan from the bank, and then pretend to be surprised when said greedy owners, who don't care about the football clubs, do something like this.

The hypocrisy and faux outrage from those screaming the loudest on Sky etc (one of the biggest culprits of killing football the last three decades to start with who don’t give a flying F about fans. ONLY money!), who’ll be all over working on the broadcasts if there was to be a ESL, is off the charts unreal.

Yeah, looks like they waited until Barca and Real elections are done so the fans can't kick them in the bollocks. And CL semis are in a week so very little time for UEFA to work with the lawyers to figure out if they can punish the remaining teams.

The 12 clubs that have signed a binding agreement to form the Super League have been guaranteed a "welcome bonus" worth €200m-€300m each #mulive [@FT]

The Super League’s 15 permanent members will jointly own a newly incorporated company in Spain which will share all future media and sponsorship rights derived from the competition #mulive [@FT]

The Super League have held early discussions with broadcasters, seeking to secure deals with likes of Amazon, Facebook, Disney and Sky that would raise annual revenues worth €4bn a year, roughly double the amount the Champions League earns #mulive [@FT]

UEFA stance not softening overnight. The breakaway clubs will face expulsion from next season's Champions League even if their own Super League isn't in place to start in August. Hard to invite the arsonist threatening to burn your house down over for dinner I guess.

Significant development: Karl Heinz Rummenigge, chairman of Bayern Munich, is to join UEFA’s executive committee in place of Juve’s Andrea Agnelli who resigned after knifing UEFA by signing up to breakaway. Rummenigge’s presence a blow to those hoping to entice Bayern to ESL.

I mean the revenue of ESL would rely on endorsments, sponsors and TV rights, so a massive fan boycott could actually be effective. But then of course there's a pandemic so can;t even go out and protest properly.

BREAKING NEWS: UEFA officially exploring the option to ban clubs in #SuperLeague as soon as possible! Legal consulting could also bring to ban Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester City already from current Champions! Exploring option to exclude players as of today.

Just forfeit the matches they played, then team they eliminated goes through and we can still have EL/CL semis.

.....

All the best selling your marquee competition without your marquee clubs.

One thing you have to laugh at in the press release for the ESL is the bit about this group has 99 european trophies between them.

Then you remember City are in there so the remaining 11 clubs have 99 european trophies between them.

(Couldn’t resust. 😛.).
Lets not fight against eachother.
