Boateng had an even more solid penalty shout turned down. It could of been given for either of the 2 challenges in the space of about a second.

And anyway, you have to feel for Ghana. People who keep saying it's fair, because ghana had it in their hands: The chance to take a penalty to make your team the first ever african team to reach the semi's, with the last kick of the game and the whole world watching you, is hardly easy & justice of a goal bound shot that some second goalkeeper turns away. But that's the rules I guess.

Hope that cheating **** gets banned for the rest of the tournament. The way he cheered when the penalty was saved, shows he has no embarressment or shame like he should have. I mean, would you all be happy if Uruguay get to the final and suarez wins it for them? But then again, silly question, as they'll be destroyed by the dutch anyway. Oraaaaanjjeeee!
 
A cheat is someone who breaks the rules to gain an advantage and gets away with it. Suarez is not a cheat he did not get away with it, he put his team on the verge of going out of the world cup so where was the adavantage for his team and he got punished for it. Hence he did not cheat.

The reason why he cheered was mainly because of relief that his team did not go out because of his error.

In all honesty if this had been Germany that choked everyone would of been laughing at them but because it was Ghana and because they had all of Africa supporting them everyone thinks its unfair.

But that's football, that happens everyday. Think about it: if it wasn't in normal play then Gyan may of missed but Ghana would have a great chance of winning against 10 men. That is why Suarez got a red card too. That is why he did it, if it would of been given anyway, whether he handballed it or not, what is the point of getting a red card for nothing. He was being unselfish for his nation, and I respect him for that.

He didn't get away with it, but his country did by still going through. The red card had no impact on the match itself so late in the game and Ghana IMO deserve the goal, they were harshly done by.

But if we used technology or a new rule, there would be no point of debating it as their would be a right answer whether it should of been a goal or whether he is a cheat or not. The great thing about football is that there is a lot of opinion and debate.

Its not about Uruguay cheating. He let his teamates down when he could of put them out with his error of judgement by using his hand. How does anyone know he handled it on purpose? To me the speed of the ball travelling and him sticking his arm up was more instinct than doing it on purpose.

And he did not get away with it and has penalised his country for the Semi-final as he is one of the top strikers for them so it has disadvantaged them for the semi with him being banned.

So what do we do? Punish the whole squad, brand them all cheats kick them out of the Tournament, For one persons Sacrifies for a nation?

Would you of done any different.

Heres what must of been running through his mind

Scenario one

"Dont handle this we go out,

Scenario two

"handle this off the line, get sent off,. miss the Semi Final, get branded a cheat worldwide, But we still got a chance, a small one. but any chance of going through. i would take right about now"

Which one would you pick.
 
Suarez is a hero.
If an england player had done that i would love him for it. Took one for the team. Anyone else would have done the same.
I love ghana, and wanted them to do well, but i wouldn't call suarez a cheat. He broke the rules, and got punished for it. If FIFA cxhange the rules to say that, in that situation a goal is given, then fair enough. But everyone knows the rules. If it dont cross the line, its not a goal. (even if it does, FIFA might not count it :) ) At the end of the day, gyan should have put the pen away. I love gyan but he should have scored, then there would be no argument.

That is a load of rubbish. Whether or not you get punished doesn't affect whether you cheated or if you are a cheat. It was a pretty scummy thing to do and i think he's a ****.

Uruguay will struggle in Semi-Final. Lodeiro has just been ruled out of the tournament, Lugano could miss the game through injury too. Suarez is banned and could be given an extra game suspension so his World Cup is pretty much over after last night.

Change the scenario for a second. its the champions league final and rooney did that in the final seconds. Hero to you or villain for doing it.

What a saint you are. Plus i'm hardly ranting just your definition of a cheat is wrong.
E.g If you cheat at poker in a casino and are caught you've still cheated. Just you've been caught. So the fact suarez was punished doesn't affect the fact he cheated.

I wouldn't hate him because i'm obviously going to be biased towards our players. I wouldn't defend him from all the people who would abuse him because he would deserve it.

19-11-08 has a point though Ian, when you cheat, you break the rules, if he got away with it he would be branded a cheat, if he got punished he still remains a cheat.
 
Yes, he cheated, because he handled the ball in the box and he isn't the goal keeper.

But he got sent off for it. He got his punishment. He's missing the semi final of a World Cup.

Ghana had their chance to win and they messed it up. End of story.
