[FONT="]We fielded a hugely experimental team and the game was more about the season ahead than the European Super Cup itself, we defended poorly and let in silly goals but we definitely will be better, I assure you of that.

[FONT="]Really pleased with today, you never know what to expect, but we went 3-0 very easily and controlled the game from there, again slightly disappointed conceded two sloppy goals but we will try to improve on our concentration levels. There were more positives from this, great performance and a goal for Michael (Ballack) on his debut.”

[FONT="]Stunning performance from the lads today we attacked them from the first whistle and they just could not cope with our pace and passing, we ripped them open over and over and once the first went in we were set to crush them.

[FONT="]Very comfortable game for us today, we controlled the game for very large periods and created quite a bit of chances. I don’t feel they had much going forward; they never looked like scoring so we were never troubled.

[FONT="]It was very close the first half our and once they went ahead, we did exactly what I wanted we showed maturity and kept calm, we played our football and steamrolled them after that. We’re scoring a lot of goals at the moment so I’m pleased.

[FONT="]Another stunning attacking display, we played some tremendous stuff and it really paid dividends. They beat us 5-4 away ad then beat us 5-4 at our ground so I’m really pleased because we crushed them, David (Villa) got a hat-rick, and John (Fleck) scored a great goal. Very pleasing.

[FONT="]It was so, so tight the whole game, we were reserved and so were they, when Michael (Ballack)’s screamer gave us the lead. We were very close to getting a big win before Henry scored the late goal, it looked like he fouledMoya to me.

[FONT="]Really disappointed we had a very good chance tonight even though David (Villa) got injured yesterday, and he will be out for about 3 weeks. Manny (Fernandes) shot us in the foot getting sent off 6 minutes in so that was disappointing. We showed character to respond and Jack (Wilshere) scored against his old club. When they come to us it’s going to be a lot different to what they expect
