Pretty good start max - great result against fulham. I know they take a bit of time but the images really improve the layout so keep them up

Great result against Fulham mate and it seems as though results are coming in the league too. I believe you can take them to the playoffs.

Baggies hold out for draw at Vicarage Road

Frustration - Watford were never favourites to hold on here

Watford will be feel highly unlucky not to of beaten out of form West Brom here after West Brom clawed back a last minute equaliser via captain Abdoulaye Meite in the 92nd minute of the game.

The first half was action packed full of chances for each side, but finishing was also poor from both sides and neither capitalized to take a lead. Although the second half was full of chances, and Watford finally broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute when Paulo Henrique scored his second league goal of the season for the Hornets to give them a 1-0 lead which they seemed to of held very well, until Meite popped up in the dying seconds to head home an equaliser for West Brom and ruined the celebrations of Watford fans. A good result for both teams, although Max King's side may of felt hard done by.

Roberto Di Matteo said:
I think we were quite lucky but that's football and any good side get's luck, even the best in the world gets it a lot. Hopefully sooner or later we'll be in the playoffs at least and build from there.

Max King said:
One word. Unlucky.

Magpies peck the Hornets where it hurts

newcastlefanscheering.jpg

Smiles all round - Finally Newcastle fans have something to smile about

Newcastle showed their superiority here and dominated a Watford side that just didn't turn up to the big occasion. It was already 2-0 at half time courtesy of Jonas and Alan Smith who both got their names on the score sheet, scoring in the 36th and 43rd minute.

Second half was much the same for Watford, although they didn't concede again, but Andy Carroll will be wondering how he didn't have at least a hat trick in the second half.

Chris Hughton said:
We've done what was needed today so I'm a pleased man, and we didn't let them have a sniff all game really, so job done.

Max King said:
Well done to Newcastle, they outplayed us in all departments really and we just couldn't get in on goal to score at all. Of course we were without Cleverley and Lansbury who were on international duty, and we were missing Cristaldo still through injury. But seriously, international duty when we have a big match like this? Absolutely ridiculous.

Watford pile on the misery for troubled Palace

tomcleverleycelebrating.jpg

Key man - Cleverley has been the part of all things good for Watford so far this season

Crystal Palace fans may of thought their season could turn around today with a single win, but Watford had different ideas. The first half was poor, with each side cancelling each other out and both teams knew in the second half only an individual piece of magic would change things, and that happened in the 56th minute when Tom Cleverley smashed home a beauty of a volley to make things worse for Palace who linger at the bottom of the table after a 10 point deduction.

Paul Hart said:
I've been in this situation before, and I've gotten out of it before, it's not impossible. All you need is one or two players to step up and give magic and you're suddenly out of it. I'm not giving up and neither are the players.

Max King said:
Credit to Palace today, they didn't give up and made it more than hard for us to take all 3 points here. I've met and spoke to Paul Hart before this match, and he knows his football, he just seems to get thrown in at the deep end a lot at clubs, he's the sort of manager you bring in to save you from relegation and he's got a good record of doing that so good luck to him, and I hope he keeps them up.

'Boro too much for Watford in close encounter

dannygrahamcelebrating.jpg

Consolation - Danny Graham scores his penalty but knows it's too late for Watford

Middlesbrough showed why they were in the Premier league last season by dominating Watford for most of the game, apart from the final 10 minutes. The game started well for Middlesbrough when summer signing Kennedy from Ajax put them ahead after just 7 minutes in with a placed shot into the bottom corner, and not long after Middlesbrough were 2-0 up when Lee Miller scored in the 31st minute to give Middlesbrough a more comfortable lead.

Second half was no different, with Middlesbrough being in full control until the 79th minute when Tom Cleverley was fouled in the area, and Danny Graham stepped up to score the penalty and got his 3rd goal in 13 league games, a record that isn't held in high regard by manager Max King. Middlesbrough held out for the final 10 minutes to record their first win in 2 games.

Max King said:
We were poor out there today but well played to Middlesbrough, I think they deserved their win and will probably be in the playoffs come the end of the season.

Gordan Strachan said:
We did our job well in the match and did what was needed to get all 3 points so I'm very happy and I think we can make a serious push for promotion this season.

Player of the month

tomcleverleypom.jpg

Clever boy - Tom Cleverley has been massively important so far this campaign for Watford

Tom Cleverley has been in fantastic form this month, and was awarded the Coca Cola Championship player of the month award. He's scored 1 goal and has got an assist this month, but has also made some exquisite passes in matches that have looked Beckham like.

Tom was asked about how he felt about his recent form, and how he liked it at Watford..

Chris Kamara said:
Tom, you've been in cracking form recently, how do you feel about your form and how is life at Watford?

Tom Cleverley said:
My form? Yeah it's been going well, obviously as a midfielder to score if always nice and it's a bit of a bonus at times for the hard work you put in, and assists are my main job really so I'm pleased I'm doing that aswell.

Like you said about Watford, yeah I'm loving it here, I know a few of the lads on loan aswell like Fabrice Muamba and Henri Lansbury so I settled in really well and I'm just enjoying my footie.

Chris Kamara said:
Alright, well cheers Tom and good luck with the season, and hopefully we'll see you back here again soon.

Gunners demolish Watford in league cup confrontation

bendtnercelebrating.jpg

Hat-trick hero - Bendtner proves he is one for the future and smashes 3 past Watford

Arsenal overpowered and outclassed Watford completely in all departments this evening in the League Cup 4th round with a 5-1 victory. A hat trick from Nicklas Bendtner, and goals from Andrey Arshavin and Eduardo secured the victory for Arsenal, although it wasn't all clean sailing for Arsenal as the scoreline was 1-1 at one point after Bendtner put Arsenal ahead, and then Henri Lansbury was fouled in the area which led to Jonathan Cristaldo stepping up and passing the ball into the back of the net to make it 1-1 at half time.

In the second half Arsenal were far more ruthless, and Watford couldn't handle it with Bendtner adding to his other goal with 2 more to get a hat trick, and then Arshavin and Eduardo added to the scoresheet to make it a comfortable 5-1 win for Arsenal who go through to the next round.

Max King said:
Well that's why their one of the best teams in England really isn't it, top quality and well done to them, we weren't worthy of them today.

Reporter said:
Arsene, what did you think of the goal for Arshavin that was speculated to be offside?

Arsene Wenger said:
Err, I did not see it.

Watford nick all 3 points from the Bluebirds in close encounter

lansburycelebrating.jpg

Top performance - Lansbury scores the only goal of the game to give Watford the 3 points

Watford will feel be feeling lucky tonight after taking all 3 points from Cardiff in a match Cardiff were certainly the better team in. Watford's first half wasn't a good one, wih themselves being dominated all of the half, but in the 16th minute Watford struck Cardiff on the counter, and Lansbury scored a tap in to give Watford a shock lead which they held on for the whole 90 minutes with, and defensively stopped Cardiff every time. A fantastic win for Watford but a bad result for Cardiff.

Dave Jones said:
Well y'know sometimes games like that happen to ya and you have to take it right on the chin and move on.

Max King said:
I'm surprised but delighted tonight, we got lucky but we've had a few unlucky moments this season with teams get
Max King said:
ting equaliser's against us in the last minute etc, so it's about time it swung our way.

The Owls shocked by late Cleverley equaliser

tomcleverleyvssheffwed.jpg

Late saviour - Tom Cleverley once again pops up when Watford need him most

Sheffield Wednesday must of thought they had secured all 3 points at home to Watford with only 2 minutes remaining, but Tom Cleverley was once again there to spoil the party for another opposition team. The first half was poor with no real chances created apart from a long range volley from Lansbury that rattled the woodwork, but nothing else noticeable.

The second half was different as both teams went out to win the game, and it was Sheffield Wednesday who took the lead after Sean McAllister capitalized on Mariappa's missed interception and smashed home to give Wednesday a 1-0 lead, which they held onto until the 90th minute when Tom Cleverley scored one of the best he'll score for a while, smashing the ball on the volley from a chipped pass from Danny Graham into the back of the net to send all Watford support mad and even had manager Alan Irvine applauding. A good result for Watford but Sheffield Wednesday will of been frustrated that they couldn't hold on long enough for the whole 3 points.

Alan Irvine said:
I guess that's just football, and sometimes it goes your way and sometimes it doesn't, but at the moment it seems 90% isn't going our way.

Max King said:
I'm happy to of salvaged a point in the last minute as we probably didn't deserve it after the overall performance but as I've said previously, I'll take any points in this division.

Hornets rue missed chances vs Forest

dannygrahamvsforest.jpg

Under pressure - Danny Graham buckles under the pressure and misses decisive penalty for Watford

Danny Graham went from hero to zero in the space of 90 minutes after scoring for Watford, but then missing a penalty to equalise for Watford in a game they lost 3-2 at Nottingham Forest.

Danny Graham funnily enough opened the scoring for Watford after just 20 minutes from the penalty spot after Fabrice Muamba was dragged to the ground at a corner to give Watford a penalty, and it took Forest 21 minutes to level the scoring after David McGoldrick equalised for them in the 41st minute to send the scores level at the break.

Watford regained the lead in the second half when Tom Cleverley scored in the 64th minute after a mix up between defenders Chris Gunter and Kelvin Wilson led to Cleverley running through on goal and placing the ball past 'keeper Lee Camp. Although just 5 minutes later and Forest were level courtesy of top scorer Robert Earnshaw after Paul Anderson's cross was met by a diving header from Earnshaw, and then Watford were shell shocked just 2 minutes after that when Earnshaw picked the ball up on the half way line, ran past 3 Watford players and curled into Scott Loach's top right hand corner to send the Forest fans absolutely crazy and leaving the Watford fans distraught.

Things didn't get any better for Watford when they were given a penalty for a foul on Lansbury, but Danny Graham missed the penalty firing wide of the post. A good result for Forest who stay in the promotion hunt, but Watford will be licking their wounds after being so close to a draw against 2nd placed Forest.

Billy Davies said:
I couldn't asked of anymore of the lads today, we reacted superbly to come back from 1-0 down and then 2-1 down, and end up winning 3-2, fantastic stuff.

Max King said:
I'm gutted but I'm not going to blame Danny Graham like a few probably will because he's given us the lead with a penalty at the start so I'm keeping my faith in him, he's a good player and deserves some credit for his effort.

Player of the month

henrilansburypom.jpg

Top of his game - Lansbury's been in top form for the Hornets recently and is getting better and better

Lansbury has been top quality for Watford this month, scoring one goal and assisting twice, and the goal he scored won the game for Watford vs Cardiff. The youngster is on loan from Arsenal and is another quality youngster to come through the highly regarded youth academy of Arsenal.

Henri Lansbury said:
I'm pleased my effort has been noticed lately, I've really tried to up my game and I'm really happy with myself. Lets hope it continues for me.

More updates later hopefully lads :)

Glad to see Bendtner stuffing you ;). Also glad to see Lansbury is the man of the moment. If you can, maybe loan him next year, or, sometimes he doesn't sign a new contract and you can nab him on a free.
