What approach suits my team / I need a Tactic

Hello, a new user here, attempting to lead Leeds United to former glory

Team: Leeds
Players & tactics: see screens.

Problem: Lack of quality out wide. Just 1 winger with pace + crossing (Sergio Zijler, free signing). A couple of pace merchants whose crossing & mental stats are poor. Low transfer budget (400K left out of 500 so I yet have to figure out on what exactly to spend it best). A narrow ground, hence a narrow formation might be best adopted. Am I doing it right?

I'm going to start again as Crewe Alexandra. Stuffed up my current approach (loaded up the Irish leagues- the temptation to sign cheap players on free transfer overtook me). What's a good League 2 standard tactic that utilises a lot of attack? I'm also losing about 180K a month (although this may have something to do with me planning for youth facilities), how do I reduce this.

I'm going to attempt and replicate Crewe Alex's approach of bringing up youngsters (i'll be looking to sign schoolboys for cheap)

Anyone suggest a downloadable tactic for Stafford Rangers? I have poor defence, so it should be good enough to help keep the goals out of my net, and get them in the opposition net.

I have a few general questions about playing as spurs. When playing games I always feel confident in the teams ability going forward, but never in the defence. I've tried to implement the 'nike' defence but I hardly ever get a clean sheet. Is it down to poor defenders? Even in my away game variant where I drop Huddlestone back as an extra DMF, I never feel confident in the teams ability to keep the opposition out. My only new signings were Defour and Galeano, and I'm playing Gallas as cover and King as stopper. Any tips appreciated.

Also

1) Which is better, Bale as a left wb + kranjar as an aml, or bale as a defensive winger aml + BAE as a wb? Bale as a defensive winger vs other roles?
2) Defoe vs Crouch to start?

I'm playing as Dortmund and currently on my second seasons. I've had a decent run so far ended up as 4th team first season and now fighting for the ECC spot together with Schalke. Leverkusen and Bayern are like 10ps ahead of us.

Star players are Buonanoutte, Barrios, Sahin, Kadlec and Grosskreutz. I've conceded very few goals both seasons but I just can't seem to grab the points against the teams below me. I'm usually beating Leverkusen and Schalke and the likes home and can at least grab points away but It's again the weaker teams I lose my points. 14 wins 7 draws and 4 losses so far, 2 of the losses are most likely against Bayern who've had maybe 5 shots on their goal in 4 games.

In my third season with Leicester, having been promoted to the Prem in the second season

My squad is...

All subs are capable of starting regularly.

Looking for a tactic to try and grind out results and finish midtable if poss! Don't mind what formation but looking at 4 at the back.

Last season played very high tempo but not likey to work this year. looking to restrict teams but not sit back, still play nice football and attacking quickly.

Lost my first game to Arsenal 3-0 and second game to Birmingham 2-1 (robbed)

Also, found it very difficult over the summer and at start of season to attract any big name or even better players than I would be attracting in the Championship (bar Drenthe). Got 9m left and nobody to spend it on.

Just about to start game with norwich and was wonderoing which tactic would get me into the EPL in first season with a relatively poor and fairly slow squad? Thanks

Hi guys,

First time hear so hey to you all!

Have been playing Champ and FM on and off since around 00/01 but I have never been the best tactition as I could never get the perfect setup and relied on my signings. Started my first season this year with Forest and got promoted just on the signings I have made but left everything standerd and havent created any tactics. Since getting to the prem I have managed to sign Maaxi Lopez, Marcus Berg, Charlie Adam, Schelotto (Italian winger), Jorge ribeiro, Fredrik Stoor (as cover), Jonathan Woodgate, Kyriakos from liverpool, Carrizo or Carozzo the Argentinian Keeper and lastly Yasin Mikari. With these players I should stay up but lie bottom after 15 games with 6 points... pretty awful I know. I really dont know how to get the best of my team and have conceded 23 goals and scored just 11. Do you guys have any advice on what I should do? Also I just play a 4-4-2 and leave evrything default etc, with the exception of sometimes changing my team mentality to defensive and rigid.

Cheers,

Jon

I am trying to achieve a good, solid team with Paris Saint-Germain.

I am now struggling to find a good tactic/style of play that suits the team. A 4-4-2, 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3 and an assymetrical (sp) 4-4-2 has even been tried. Yet, to no avail.

I have Googled styles of play and how they have played this season, seeing as how they are 2nd in Ligue 1, but again, no results in helping to find the best way to play.

I want to play a fluid, attacking game, but it generally fails. So I would like some help in this area.

Thanks.

Anyone?

I tried a similar thing early in FM11 with Lyon, tried to home in a tactic to dominate french football find out how they played, why they were not winning and attempted a fix, I failed :S

Formation I would go with is 4-2-3-1
Passing short and expressive Hoarau as a Targetman set to feet, but his role set to advanced forward with the hold up ball box ticked.
Defenders seem to have limited passing capabilities, but what I do know is Sakho is an amazing attacking full back bizarrely if you can spare him at CB.
I'll try to help you work something out mate, got nothing better to do today

I'm managing Man City. I was just wondering what are the best roles for these players and how do i approach the game on the team instructions to get the best out of the players I have. My team is:

GK: Joe Hart

RB: Micah Richards
CB: Kolo Toure
CB: Vincent Kompany
LB: Alexsnadar Kolarov

RW: Adam Johnson
CM: Andrea Poli
CAM: David Silva
LW: Juan Manuel Mata

ST: Carlos Tevez
ST: Edin Dzeko

4-2-2-2
2 CM (1 DEF) (1 Adv. Playmaker)
2 CAM (Or for width AMR AML)
2 ST's Torres Complete Forward Support, Lukaku Advanced Forward Attack

Just a suggestion

Balance will lie with your CM's mate
Need one set to box to box or some version of defensive (Unless you want more cover and set them to box to box and deep lying playmaker)
Jonas AML Inside Forward
Ben Arfa maybe AMR Inside Forward
All I know is the best setting for Carroll/Ameobi is Targetman Attack
