i hope someone can help me or give me another tactic that can suit well my team

I am currently managing Southampton in the championship (2011-2012 season) having previously gained promotion at a canter with a fairly orthodox fluid attacking / controlling 4-4-2 formation, however I am now finding it difficult to control the middle of the park, despite having players at my disposal who should be up to the task (perming two from three from Tim Gilissen, Ahmed Fathi and Morgan Schneiderlin, with the option of Brahim Hemdani as a more defensive midfielder or Lucas Correa as an attacking midfielder / trequartista, as the situation dictates). I generally like to play a ball winning (defensive) and box to box (support) central midfield combination, which to my way of thinking should give me a reasonably stable platform, but results are not bearing this out. I have tried tweaking the depth of my defensive line and the width of my midfield to little effect, and was wondering if anyone could suggest an alternative approach to central midfield tactics that might better suit my style of play?

I've had success using a narrow 4-3-1-2 and 4-1-3-2 with Man United but I've never had any luck utilizing Nani and Valencia. Any ideas on which formation would be suitable? I would preferably like to keep 2 strikers, but I'm open to all advice, thanks.

I dont think this was a hard question :P You want two strikers and two wingers, not a lot more you can do with that, haha!

I'm a Southampton fan and a 4 4 2 lover so hopefully I can help :D

My favourite pairing when I know I'm the better team is a deep lying playmaker/support and a central midfielder/support. They both need to be able to slip balls in for the forwards, spread it wide and occasionally get back to make a tackle.

I'd also try suggesting using rigid instead of fluid. In a 4 4 2 I find it much better!

I started to play with Lazio, but I saw that they didn't get any transfer budget. So the most important is a good tactic. I saw that they play with a 4-3-2-1 or with a 3-5-2. I am not used to this tactic and I don't know which tactic is the best for Lazio. So could anbody recommend me a tactic which works well with Lazio?

thx

I'm playing with Tottenham spurs , usin Koflok's "GOALS GALORE 2011" tactics .
I dominated first season like 100 goals and 20 concedec.
Second season it didnt come very easily and i was 3rd
Third season i cant get any goals ..

Team is pretty much same members who i had to replace was stat wise very similar ..

So my question is , what i'm doing wrong?

Simple, when you use same tactic for a long enough time, opponents get used to it, they know how you play so they can make proper tactic against you. Changing tactics every now and then and using 2-3 tactics simultaneously changing during match and different tactic to different match makes you much more unpredictable. Good way to do is to make control or contain tactic to be used with your attacking tactic, when leading, change to control to keep possession and not letting opponent to score. That way opponents don't get to know your tactic so well.

I'm currently playing with liverpool i used a 3-4-3 and i won the FA cup, the europa league and i finished 4th in the premier league (i picked the team in the 11th position)
My squad is a updated liverpool (suarez, carrol) i also have Neymar, Moussou Sissoko, Pandev and Bale.
Now my 3-4-3 is not working can anyone give me an advice or tactic?

Team: Aston Villa
Season 2010/2011
Bought only Mahamadou Diarra from Real Madrid.

The AI got use to your tactic, you need to change the tactic i think, and retrain your playersto a new tactic.

I'm currently playing as Huddersfield, and have reached the Premiership. I started using Mr Hough's winger tactic which slaughtered League one and Championship, but struggled in Premiership, getting hammered every week (literally about 30 conceded, 5 scored and no points after about 10 games)

Needless to say I switched, and started using a modified version of that tactic, set up to be more defensive, and my season has been saved, but the AI is getting used to both tactics, and the big teams still hammer me every time (bar one epic 3-0 victory over Spurs)

Basically, I need a couple more tactics, including one to use against stronger sides, just to keep things fresh and not concede hundreds of goals against teams like United and Chelsea.

Thanks in advance.

I would probably use a narrow or wide 4231, using on of the central MCs ( or if preferring DMCS) as a playmaker. As for roles, it would depend on your starting lineup.

My favourite would actually be a deep and narrow 4231, just like in the tactic I have uploaded for you. You might find my suggestion slightly weird but I think it would suit the players really good.

- Flat 4 in the back, using attacking wingbacks
- Using Hamsik as a playmaker in the DMCr position(!) and Flamini or any other MC in the other DMC-spot
- Playing 3 AMCs, with the outer 2 swapping position. The Central AMC would be one that arrives late in the penalty area and will act like a linkman
- Using a lone FC as a deeplying on attack ( but initially without hold up the ball).

Well, thats one suggestions if you want to think outside the box :D

Hey gruff 89, nice that you brought huddersfield to the premiership! i brought leicester city to the premiership in my 1st season and now am in the premiership. I'm doing above expectatios currently 11th in the league with 19 games in. I use s flat out 4-4-2. What players do you have? i think the players matter alot to what tactics you're gonna use. My line up for midfield is lee chun soo MFL wide midefield attack, jorge valdivia i bought him for 14.75ML(48 mths) MC advanced playmaker, mark van bommel free transfer MC Attack, freddie ljungberg MFR Winger- Attack. my strikers are pablo mouche- poacher, rolan noux- advanced forward. Im doing really well. But my defence is horrid so i concede alot but score alot too. I don't know how much huddersfield gives you and what year you at? Im at 2011/12 so just started. Ive played alot of other games. my greatest achievement so far was winning the champions league in 2015/2016 with aston villa crazy happy! hope to hear from you

My most high profile players are Gary Hooper from Celtic, Cameron Jerome from Birmingham and the mighty Anatoliy Tymoschuk! I'm already using a main tactic, but I am just so weak at producing my own! Was just hoping somebody could suggest a tactic that wouldn't clash too badly with Mr Hough's to be honest.
