so I started a save as Manchester United and this is my first time playing as a Manchester so i downloaded a tactic from here it's been good but i want to see what other people recommend, like i said it's a new save so im only 4 games into the first season, so what do you guys recommend?

Really struggling

This is actually my third attempt at trying to make something of Wigan Athletic since i bought this game and no matter what i try i am having no luck gaining any consistency, apart from losing more than anything else.

I've tried a few tactic's off here with no luck and i've tried tactics my friends reccommended to me with minimal success.

It seems to be my defence which is letting me down more than anything but this time round i've also not been scoring too much.

I've spent time improving my backroom staff and thats at a pretty decent level, i'm currently half way through the 10/11 season and 19th in the league and on a 8 game losing streak.

Im in 2011/12 season.Just won the prem but suarez and carroll scored about 10 between them.Gerrard carried us. I just couldnt get the best out of the strikers. Ive just signed neymar and i already had lacina traore and babacar. Here are my players:

I think the best way to work out tactics is not to ask people, but experiment. I manage Napoli, spent my first season experimenting, tweaking the sliders for every single player to really dictate how to play them. Then, I signed players who could perfectly play the roles I wanted, and won the Serie A. Stick with it guys, and you'll learn how to make tactics work.

One pointer - If you're playing with only 2 CBs, don't bother with stopper/cover nonsense etc. You can be left too open if you play a strong attacking side. Play them default.

Actually, he has been a beast for me using these settings


The Slow and strong FC -Lone FC or with 2 FCs upfront


-this player that comes deep to get the ball and/or plays with the back towards the goal is to drop deeper and play a simple game with little creative freedom. he acts like a linkman and gets into the area late in attacks. he does need to have a good movement but due to the fact that he is pretty slow, he wont be able to beat his man by dribbling. i like to combine this player with either a quick FC in a 442 or the HoleAMC + Attacking wingforward(s) in a "4231/451"

No problem. I will do so when getting home ( just copied this settings form my thread at SI. Mind you, I do agree that of one is to challenge in CL with Liverpool, One should get a better player. This is just the setting I would give a player that is slow and strong

I just got this immense regen, and I am trying to build my team around him, but I don't know what role should i give him, and wether I should play 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 Barca style, I lack quality wingbacks so that might be a problem, anyway any suggestions on how to get the best of this very intelligent striker?

Hey (H) Im west hame and have been doing pretty of so far i have found that the 4-1-2-1-2 formation works best , contained and aggressive tackling. Deep defesive line, playing quite narrow and at a slow pace especially against bigger teams it works a treat. I found that Cole hasnt been so great the first season so ive been using piquionne as the target man and Obina as forward/support were 7th in the leauge at the moment so give it a go 8-|

Well i am having a go at managing Borussia Dortmund. I am not a tactical guru, so i just tried to find out what were the best roles for the main players and i fit them into a 4-2-3-1 with no tweakings to player instructions whatsoever. Here is the team screenie:

So, here are the player roles- standard goalkeeper on defend,two central defenders on defend,two full backs on support, two inside forwards on support,one advanced playmaker on attack,one lone poacher on attack,one ball winning cm on defend and one deep lying playmaker in support.

So, can you suggest some tweakings( as i have not changed anything regarding player instructions) so that i get even better results and try to move in to the title race?
Also are there other tactics in the forum which would suit my team available for download?? Please feel free to suggest anything regarding tactics so that this tactic starts giving me solid results.

I'm having trouble with my Fiorentina tactic. My first season half went amazing and I ended up in 2nd spot with a very good chance of the title, second half I just started losing and this led to a free fall to the 9th place. I can't seem the end this losing streak. Gilardino pretty much stopped scoring as well. Any advise would be helpful.
The duties/roles are:

DL - FB/Support
DCL - Central Def/Cover
DCR -Central Def/Stopper
DR - FB/Support
MCL - Midfielder/Attack

From who you are playing, I would suggest varying the roles to have more effect, both down the flanks and through the centre of the pitch. But a good start would be with changing the roles of your central defenders from the usual Central Defender, Defend to Central Defender, Stopper (other with Cover) or Limited Defender, Support (or Defend) and the other a Ball-Playing Defender. Your full backs can easily be Wing Back, Support and Full Back, Automatic so that it plays a high defensive line, but removes the offside trap, due to the height of the line itself.

When Sahin returns from suspension, try playing him as an Advanced Playmaker, Support (Attack could work as well, don't know) whilst Grosskreutz can be an Advanced Playmaker, Attack or Winger, Attack and Blaszczykowski as Inside Forward, Attack. Support, I don't think, will do much good. And lastly, Barrios has good all-round abilities, so don't be afraid to play him as an Advanced Forward or as Complete Forward, Attack. He's tall, strong, good aerially and can take a good shot.

I would suggest changing to the following roles:

GK - Goalkeeper, Defend
RB - Wing Back, Automatic
LCB - Limited Defender, Cover
RCB - Central Defender Stopper (you can vary this, just be careful to get it right)
LB - Wing Back, Support/Attack

RCM - Advanced Playmaker, Support
LCM - Ball-Winning Midfielder, Defend / Box-to-Box Midfielder, Support

AMR- Inside Forward, Attack / Winger, Attack
AMC - Advanced Playmaker, Attack / Advanced Playmaker, Support (Can be changed with Montolivo)
AML - Inside Forward, Attack

STC - Poacher, Attack / Advanced Forward, Attack / Trequartista / Deep-Lying Forward, Attack
