Well well well, what can I say, TW:atilla definitely has somew charms about it! They have captured the darkness of the dark ages well! so lets get to the nitty gritty!
Pro's
- I haven't come across some of the crazy bugs you got in Rome 2 at all which should be a given not a one of the pro's but **** it s a good start!
- Family tree is back!
- I like the new political influence concept it only adds to the immersion!
- there seems to be a good range of units
- the AI in some aspects has got a little better as in battles they actually try to ambush you something I never encountered in Rome 2 not to say it didn't ever happen just saying me personally. The AI will try to lure you into a false sense of security and bam catch you off guard with a pinser attack which I like!
- NEW UI this is my favourite thing I couldn't play Rome because the UI was a clusterfuck!
- Aspects of diplo have improved it seems a little more transperant
Cons
- Day one DLC for something that should probably be in the base game that really ******* annoys me
- there is no blood! seriously there is no claret to be seen anywhere, you know what that means gore DLC FFS
- although I feel improvements have been made the AI can still be dumb like sending battalions one at a time into my 12 battalion strong army to just get eaten up
- this feels like it should have been DLC for Rome 2 in fact I am guessing it probably was originally
- Optimisation sucks balls for this game, I can get it working on max easily and the graphics are decent but performance can get choppy even in cut scenes which should not happen at all! CA have serious work ahead of them releasing a game with probably what another year or so of DLC's is not the brightest move. I actually think this is just bullshit for we ****** it up hopefully patches can address some issues.
Overall I would only recommend if you have a decent rig and are a big fan of the series, it has potential but it is underwhelming as like I say should have been a DLC for Rome, also it has made me want to play Crusader Kings because yet again it is not deep enough glad I only paid 20 pound.
