Queensberry Rules or Street Rulez?

I never played Grim Fandango, heard some good things about it back in the day

Do yourself a favour and pick it up. It's a point and click so it has aged pretty well, and it's still one of the best games of all time.

I remember a mate having it years ago and watching a few mins before I had to go, don't think i really knew what was going on though!

How much is the remaster?

Grim Fandango is one of a kind, everyone should play it at least once. The remaster is kind of half-assed though. Seems like they only upped the resolution, added ****** lightining and new controls which were available through fan mod anyway. At least price is quite reasonable though.

Also, the best game set in Rome was Centurion, you **** whippersnappers.

AC:Unity. The game has taken a lot of **** for technical problems, but if you can look past that...my god man. Probably the most detailed and impressive world I have seen in gaming to date. I think its the first time in AC game they made interior locations available, and they're already so rich and carefully crafted it blows my mind. I'm not even playing it much, mostly just wondering around looking at ****.

Next few years are going to be amazing.

Cities skylines just got a release date exactly 4 weeks today really hoping this is the city building game that people have been craving because lets be honest simcity was a total clusterfuck, and HOI 4 is released in Q2 also paradox have another game in production called project augustus which will be announced at paradox-con which if it is a grand strategy I will no doubt buy! **** I think I am a officially paradox fanboy. They're the sole reason I don't play FM as much as I used too, they are IMO the best decent sized company in the gaming industry from the interaction with fans, the modding community is one of the best and their DLC policy is one of the best around!

But yeah pretty stoked Cities Skylines has got a release date and is relatively soon!!!!!!!!

Been fighting with myself all week on whether to buy Total War Attila or not and when I won 400 quid at the weekend that made my mind up (although I am spending the rest on the beginnings of my sleeve that's another story though) so after doing a 48 shift at work I am on the last 500mb of downloading (it's 10.4 for anyone interested) and after giving CA chance after chance since they started putting out games too soon, I am waiting with a hefty weight of expectation that this game will be good! But I mean they **** this one up I am done with total war ;) will report back tomorrow with a mini review for all those interested!

I smell poor optomization with Atilla. They're saying that the highest settings are for graphics cards that are "being released in the future". That sounds pretty dam risky if you ask me if it goes wrong. I'd wait until there's confirmation the game works after the release fiasco that was Total War II

Ive already bought it mate, just loading up now. I was aware of some nvidia problems but I am an AMD guy, I also crossfire with an APU and a regular graphics card. I'm on the latest catalyst Beta so I'll see how it goes just loading now I will let you all know how it goes

Have to admit I'm intruiged. When they said that no graphics card is capable right now of running maxed out graphics that got alarm bells ringing. I do want to try it out though. Because Total War.

Tbh I'm not too bothered about running at maxed out, initial impressions UI has been massively improved for me during battles that was a major bugbear in Rome 2. Colours however are pretty similar in the one fight I have had was hard to tell the frontline apart. family trees are back thank god and it has so much win because pagans. It seems genuinely better than Rome but that honestly wouldn't take much IMO need to see how deep the game goes and let's also hope the diplo in the game is not a clusterfuck. Initially I am cautiously optimistic it could deliver nothing that an all night sesh can help decide!!!!

If TW series ever manages to make diplomacy system that doesn't suck, I will literally run the streets naked.

But if past experiences are any indicator, diplo in Attila will make about as much sense as the sounds my **** makes when taking a dump.

Well well well, what can I say, TW:atilla definitely has somew charms about it! They have captured the darkness of the dark ages well! so lets get to the nitty gritty!

Pro's

- I haven't come across some of the crazy bugs you got in Rome 2 at all which should be a given not a one of the pro's but **** it s a good start!
- Family tree is back!
- I like the new political influence concept it only adds to the immersion!
- there seems to be a good range of units
- the AI in some aspects has got a little better as in battles they actually try to ambush you something I never encountered in Rome 2 not to say it didn't ever happen just saying me personally. The AI will try to lure you into a false sense of security and bam catch you off guard with a pinser attack which I like!
- NEW UI this is my favourite thing I couldn't play Rome because the UI was a clusterfuck!
- Aspects of diplo have improved it seems a little more transperant

Cons

- Day one DLC for something that should probably be in the base game that really ******* annoys me
- there is no blood! seriously there is no claret to be seen anywhere, you know what that means gore DLC FFS
- although I feel improvements have been made the AI can still be dumb like sending battalions one at a time into my 12 battalion strong army to just get eaten up
- this feels like it should have been DLC for Rome 2 in fact I am guessing it probably was originally
- Optimisation sucks balls for this game, I can get it working on max easily and the graphics are decent but performance can get choppy even in cut scenes which should not happen at all! CA have serious work ahead of them releasing a game with probably what another year or so of DLC's is not the brightest move. I actually think this is just bullshit for we ****** it up hopefully patches can address some issues.

Overall I would only recommend if you have a decent rig and are a big fan of the series, it has potential but it is underwhelming as like I say should have been a DLC for Rome, also it has made me want to play Crusader Kings because yet again it is not deep enough glad I only paid 20 pound.

This is probably the best TW game so far. It starts to look like EU in some segments which is great. About the graphics, they actually made a boo-boo with it and said that there isn't graphics card on the market that can support it's graphics and resolution. That's why it looks kinda blurry or whatever. Is that true or not, I have no idea.

I will admit the more I play the more it grows on me and it seems like playing Rome will actually be a real challenge which is nice, but the graphical issues and performance issues are going to be big issues, if somehow they can rectify that this game has serious potential and can be considered as one of the best TW games. Playing Horde for the first time right now and boy is it fun terrorising the ERE.

edit : Vanja you bought the viking DLC is it worth it if you have seriously wanna go do some Norse conquering but maybe I have played to much CK2 ;)

Must be me than, since I don't care about graphics that much.

From what I know Vikings have some weird optimization thingy and it's really hard to play as Vikings. It's hard to remain public order as them since you don't get any bonuses from your townsmen/generals till you max skill them. Which is annoying as ****. And today is official start of third season of Vikings on TV. I ******* love the show. And there's Ragnar Lothbrok in the game 8-| So yes, I will be buying Viking DLC as soon as I get some cash available.
