Haha I saw that post and thought it was you not Tyton that put it up, my bad!

Cheers Epic....might add it and wait for a sale

Its ok, you might get it a bit cheaper on g2a or somewhere like that. But will be in the summer sale for sure. I am just keeping myself occupied till stellaris releases and takes over my life.

Stardew Valley is great but they need to add a bit more endgame content. It's pretty Harvest Mooney in that the first year is basically pure crack, the second year is still pretty good but by the third you've seen most things. I found myself playing year 1 over and over a lot. I think I'm just spoilt by Animal Crossing though, that game's sense of progression and longevity is ridiculous.

FFS EP, I need to stop checking this thread because you keep posting games I'm interested in!

On that video, what is that woman doing to the goat at around 42 seconds!?

Sigh....how much is that Stardew Valley then?

15$. It's easily 30-40h of content, so pretty good price.

Haha, yeah. Same here. First year is a blast, second year is still fun but after that you basically have everything. Some superexpensive endgame content wouldn't hurt.

Unfortunately when I checked the Steam forums, most the community seems to be busy pressuring the developer to expand the virtual romances and marriage gameplay. And most of the mods add new virtual wifes.

Sigh.

Thats because they are lacking it in real life ;)

Playong Hearts of Iron 3 at work still, ditched my Nationalist china game as I beat Japan fairly easily. Loaded France ******* I forgot how frustrating as **** they are. They have so much potential but you are so limited in what you can do. You can barely unlock full potential by 1939. I've extended the maginot line to my full border by april 1939. War is imminent so we will see what happens outmanned and outgunned but terrain in my favour this should be interesting!

Yeah, I remember it took me several saves with them until I managed not to get rolled over by the Germans.

Tbf I am in december 39 and I have not been attacked yet even though we are at war. They have annexed Poland and shifted all forces to my border. Italy have not joined the war yet which on the face of it sounds good but ai was hoping I could push into Italy a bit and divert some German forces to Italy and defend in the mountains. More than holding my own for now but just checked espionage out and the germans are rolling out the heavy panzers which should will cut right through my medium tanks if I am not careful. Hoping I dont have to hold out till Barbarossa to make an advance, but if the Italians join I should be able to beat them and and possibly open a front in south germany but we will see.

Yeah it was like that in my games as well. They can wait even a year before attacking, but when they do finally attack, it's pain to hold on.

Yeah I am just holding on to belgium barely right now they keep switching attack. I have taken Libya and sicily and then got a bit cocky trying to push through the italian border but getting beat now. Need to fall back and regroup and try again tomorrow

So new desktop has arrived but the OS was signed for delivery and no one was in FFS have to wait another day to play with my new toy!

Looks like I'll have to get a new GPU so I can play Dark Souls 3 when it's released. Pain in the backside :(

Is it quite demanding? tbh I have bought a pre built this time round but it has the black edition of the 7870k AMD APU, was £260. Just need to drop a new PSU and a GPU in it down the line but for now will more than suffice, looking forward to that meaty 4Ghz quad core power. Lasted 8 months without a desktop haha.

What you looking at GPU wise then? got any ideas? just been the amazon gaming sale too.

Well at the moment got an AMD R7 240 2 GB VRAM which is overclockable to go with my AMD A8 6600K 3.9 GHZ quad core (integrated graphics disabled) which is also overclockable.

Tempted to GeForce GTX 970 route unless there's a cheaper alternative. The R7 240 surprised me though, being able to play the vast majority of my games on ultra (like WoW, Skyrim) and games like Overwatch on high settings. Here's the requirements:

  • Minimum:
    • OS: Windows 7 SP1 64bit, Windows 8.1 64bit Windows 10 64bit
    • Processor: Intel Core i3-2100 / AMD® FX-6300
    • Memory: 4 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce GTX 750 Ti / ATI Radeon HD 7950
    • DirectX: Version 11
    • Network: Broadband Internet connection
    • Storage: 25 GB available space
    • Sound Card: DirectX 11 sound device

  • Recommended:
    • OS: Windows 7 SP1 64bit, Windows 8.1 64bit Windows 10 64bit
    • Processor: Intel Core i7-3770 / AMD® FX-8350
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce GTX 970 / ATI Radeon R9 series
    • DirectX: Version 11

The R7 range is a decent little range of cards tbh, have tried to crossfire it with your A8? I know that is why I have had the AMD chips over intel because you can get a massive kick performance wise through crossfire/dual graphics whatever AMD are calling it now. My last rig I had the crossfire going with an R7 250 card and the A10 7850k, it was a fairly hefty combo and made my £400 setup perform like a £1000 pound setup.

Checked it out and they can't be crossfired sadly. Would have been really good setup if I could-requires a specific card I forget which one it is. I much prefer AMD over Intel. The cost of Intel bemuses me because every AMD product I've used has been top drawer for greater value

**** that is a real shame about crossfire, it is one of the massive bonuses with these APU chips. Also I am a massive AMD fan too, people get hung by the AMD bottleneck and overheating issues way too much. These issues are literally a problem in high end graphics design etc, for regular gaming you get so much more bang for your buck compared to intel and with Crossfire now becoming a thing the bang just got so much bigger especially with the R7 range of cards.

Had a little look in google, a few cheaper options could be one of the better R7 cards looking about 140 for one with 4gb, but the R9 cards are only about 30 quid more at £170ish at least on amazon or get one of the higher end R9's for about 200-250 but then the GeForce is around the 250 mark from what I can see.

Downside is I'll have to get a new mobo (one I've got is small with only 1 GPU slot)-it's basically a cheap and cheerful mobo (not bad one though). And I'm not happy because ofc that means-transferring the Windows 10 OS. And we all know what that entails thanks to microsoft...........
