Friend gifted me the first mission pack of Nova Covert Ops half an hour ago and I'm already enjoying it. Action from the get go, murdering in stealth, Zerg, familiar faces, the Starcraft music...having a blast.

Also I discovered I play Starcraft ladder much better after consuming alcohol (but not too much)-ended Saturday night with a 7 W 2 L record. So if multiplayer game goes bad for you-drink some wine lol

so finally setting up the new desktop, just got to go through updating the windows 7 rigmarole not updating to 10 cba besides 7 is my favourite. Maybe by midnight may actually get round to some gaming ;)

Going to need to update sooner or later, MS are going to lock DirectX12 behind Win10 as usual.

euuurrgghh, I mean don't get me wrong I have 10 on my laptop and its decent enough just prefer 7. I'll just have to cross that bridge when I come to it.

I'm actually thinking of switching to Linux or something similar. At first Win 10 was good but now it's ****. It's been getting slower and slower. Done disk cleanups, thoroughly cleaned leftover registaries etc-the works. Still slow. Also annoying other things. If more games are Linux capable (in which the number of games is increasing) I'm just going to uninstall Win and use that. I'm just 100% sick of Microsoft now. Win 7 was the best. Win 8 was meh. Win 10 is just faecal

I skipped Win 8, but hopped right into 10. It still has some weird problems, Start Menu froze on me the other day, I **** you not. But overall I like it better. But yeah, that's typical Microsoft for you, they love to launch some grand new product that somehow always has to have some basic problems.

Win 7 was fine, but it's what, 6 years old now? That's ancient by IT standards. There's security problems with it that they couldn't fix without redesigning the whole thing from the ground up. It's easy to say to have an antivirus, don't open weird attachments and download sketchy software, but if the OS itself is vulnerable, meh.

I will probably move over to Ubuntu eventually, but the DX12 won't affect me too much for a bit as I primarily play strategy. AAA gsming just use my PS4. also seeing as I mostly play paradox titles too theyre still on DX9 AFAIK. Mainly due to half there community still playing on typewriters from the 1800's. Hoping HOI4 and Stellaris make better use of Multi core

So after problems downloading updates and all the bullshit that comes with it, i actually did a dxdiag on my new desktop, when it had finished you can imagine my surprise when it said processor a6 6400k when in fact I had ordered one with an A10 7870k. Only 200 Ghz difference but also 2 cores difference so have to wait another week for a new desktop PC as buyer has agreed to collect and send me a new one.

Also on a very positive note, I generally do not have much time for GAME as they have destroyed two of my favourite childhood shops in gamestation and electronic boutique. Man I miss those shops, sure they smelt of fanbois and BO but **** you got some bargains! Anyhow I traded in the division to buy 50 pound steam wallet voucher, which I subsequently lost (my own fault joggers and motorbike are not great combination) anywya retraced my steps and alsorang the GAME i purchased it in, was informed it was not posiible to get a replacement. So gave it a few days thought **** it gunna email game and give them some **** and see what happens. After a couple of emails they resent me my 50 pound code in an email so ecstatice with that stellaris and half of Hearts of Iron paid off right there! Not used to GAME and good customer service lol.

Next few days are going to be very busy gaming wise.

Got back into the Overwatch beta, SC 2, Nova Covert Ops, Doom open Beta, back in World of Warcraft, Dark Souls.....

So many games not enough hours in the day #FirstWorldPCGamerProblems

Really should not be allowed on steam hanging out my ******, just pre-ordered Nova edition of Stellaris which is fine but then I bought Twilight Struggle, Legends of Eisenwald and Last Hope Tower Defence.

Twilight Struggle looks like an interesting one, is originally a cold war board game but looks as if they have done it justice, but Legends of Eisenwald looks a very interesting indie game, with elements of RPG and Tactical turn based combat in a medieval feudal setting. Last Hope is just for some easy going tower defence when I cba to do anything, love a bit of twoer defence so hoping it is good. So all in all bought 6 games in the last 2 days will report back with what I think about Twilight struggle and Legends of Eissenwald as these look the most interesting with lots of promise.

Having fun with Hard West at the moment. Sort of like X-com, turn-based tactics with world based on classic american westerns. Cool little game.

Well, the plan was to buy Dark Souls 3 beginning next month. I was going to buy some Hearthstone packs for new expansion. Then..........Overwatch happened.

I'm garbage at Overwatch and FPS's. I mean real bad. 24 eliminations and only 1 proper kill for example. But it was a blast and completely insane and fun. Blizzard once again taking my money. Highly recommended. I highly recommend you check out the open Beta May 5-9

Anybody playing boom beach? We need a few people for our task force, its called punishers v2, come join have a laugh and do Ops, thanks

I wanted to relax a little so I opened Stardew Valley and put in some mods. That was Friday afternoon. It's now Sunday. I'm not sure what happened.

Been playing EVE since Wednesday. Loving it so far. Anyone else play it at all?

I played it for a little bit, liked it then stopped because of how the game is set up in terms of alliances and organisations. They're so absurdly powerful that you basically either join one or miss out on half the game. That would be kind of cool but the people in said organisations tend to be ultra-nerds on a massive powertrip, with the game being one of the biggest things in their life. Communities like that (WoW guilds, high mmr ranked games in Dota, some of the stuff that went on at the higher levels of 6's in TF2) have always been incredibly toxic in my opinion. Might sound harsh but I don't want to be dealing with people that make an online spreadsheet simulator the foundation of most of their life because I'm playing for fun whilst they attach incredible significance to it.

I'm waiting on the new Hearthstone expansion to hit the US servers (EU tomorrow). Being given up to 13 free packs is pretty dam generous (first 3 have a guaranteed legendary).

Also on the Blizz front, it appears they are toying with the idea of "legacy" servers after the huge backlash after they closed down a private server. If anyone's interested:

Anybody ever play the Legend of Zelda series? Although Twilight Princess has been out for almost 10 years (originally on the Gamecube) I only bought it last week for the HD remake on the Wii U. I always regard Ocarina of Time as the greatest LoZ game but Twilight Princess comes in very, very close.

Never got in to Zelda games, even when they went 3D on the 64 I just couldn't find them interesting. Open world bit was kind of fun but the combat boring to me.

Massive series though so must just not be for me
