Paco Alcacer finally did something on his loan spell here as he bagged a brace at home to Villa, with his goal just before half-time killing Villa's spirit and setting us up for 3 goal victory

Meret, Krejci, Jair, Ilic, Nakagawa, Brown, Martinez, Green (P.Boyle 68), Oliver (Ferreira 83), Agerschmid, G.Boyle

Cardiff City 5-0 Nottingham Forest View attachment 137497
Meret, Krejci, Jair, Ilic, Nakagawa, Brown, Martinez, Lozano (Green 71), Oliver, Angerschmid, G.Boyle (Alcacer 71)
An impressive performance against Championship side Nottingham Forest as we annihilated them at Wembley to get into the FA Cup final. Greig Boyle and Marco Angerschmid were particularly impressive as they were directly involved in all goals
BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE Cardiff City 1-0 Chelsea View attachment 137492
Meret, Krejci, Jair, Ilic, Nakagawa, Brown, Martinez, Green, Oliver (Zielinski 70), Angerschmid, G.Boyle An early Greig Boyle goal was enough for us to beat Chelsea and keep up the heat on the top 4 as we enter the final month of the campaign

A game we probably deserved to win (We had 3 times the chances), but lost to 2 long range screamers and a tap in. Dier's early goal was hugely important in United's win and that puts us out of the race for the top 4

Meret, Krejci, Jair, Burke, Nakagawa, Brown, Martinez (Zielinski 61), P.Boyle, Pritchard, Angerschmid, G.Boyle (Alcacer 61)

A disappointing yet perfect way to end our season. This match perfectly sums up our entire season as we created chances but weren't able to put them away. Chris Pennock made an impressive start to his career with a 7.6 Match Rating

Meret, Krejci, Jair, Ilic, Nakagawa 104, Brown, Martinez, P.Boyle (Green 90), Oliver (Ganea 105), Angerschmid (Alcacer 116), G.Boyle
A hugely disappointing loss in the FA Cup final as we pull it back from 2 goals down but still manage to lose despite being on top. Greig Boyle missed a penalty in the match and the shoot-out as he let the nerves get to him. Nakagawa's red card prevented us from winning in extra-time

Two relatively simple games in this international break. Faroe Islands and Andorra. Two losses incoming for us.

Morris, Pugh, Grant, Walsh, Davies, Felgate, Ramsey (Huws 60), Lloyd, J.Williams (Pennock 60), G.Williams, Roberts (Thomas 8)
A solid victory away in the Faroe Islands as Adam Felgate and Chris Pennock join the ranks of players I've given international debuts to. Jamie Thomas completed an impressive hat-trick

7 goals and 7 different goalscorers! The team are clicking and I feel as though the team is much better than it was when I took over 2 years ago. Players like Gary Lloyd and Mitchell Grant have really come to the fore and impressed recently, filling the shoes of the "Golden Generation" of Ashley Williams, Joe Ledley et all.

ILIC JOINS CITIZENS IN MEGA-MONEY MOVE View attachment 136694
Cardiff City defender Dragan Ilic has joined Premier League rivals Manchester City in a move believed to be in the region of £30m
Ilic, 20, joined the Bluebirds from Napoli last summer for a fee of £17.75m and went on to make 32 league appearances for the Welsh side
Cardiff, who are suffering a crisis defensively due to injuries and suspensions carried over from last season, were reluctant to let the Serb go, with the Citizens having to meet Ilic's release clause to get the deal done
The wonderkid, who has 16 caps for his national side, has said he hopes to learn a lot at Manchester City and to help them win trophies in the future
Controversy reigns in South Wales again following Cardiff City's acquisition of 17 year old Welsh youngster Jamie Parry from rivals Swansea City for £600,000
Left winger Parry, born in Swansea, has joined Wales' premier club on a two year deal View attachment 136547
The Liberty Stadium to the Cardiff City Stadium has become a well-trodden path in recent years as Cardiff manager Matthew Hawkins attempts to build a young, Welsh team
Parry has become the third player to switch to the Welsh capital under Hawkins' premiership, following Mitchell Grant and Adam Felgate to the Cardiff City Stadium
Mitchell Grant, 21, was the first to cross the divide back in 2018, joining Cardiff for £2.5m from the recently-relegated Swans, displaying Cardiff's dominance in South Wales
Grant has since gone on to make 51 league appearances for Cardiff and has won the Europa League, FA Cup and Under 21s Cup with the Bluebirds
Grant has also made 26 appearances for Wales since joining Cardiff, winning the Welsh Young Player of the Year award and becoming a vital part of the Welsh side View attachment 136546View attachment 136543
The second player to cross the divide was, of course, midfielder Adam Felgate who joined Cardiff for £1.1m in 2020, he has only made 1 league appearance for Cardiff and Wales but has bags of potential for both the Bluebirds and the national team View attachment 136545View attachment 136544
IN
MICHEL HELLEMONS FROM PSV FOR £10M View attachment 136481
Michel is the latest Dutch wonderkid and we've signed him! We've been looking at him for a few years but PSV quoted us prices of £50m+. Fortunately, we used our increased profile to our advantage by unsettling Hellemons before signing him in a cut-price deal. He bagged 23 goals in 60 league games for PSV. JOSEPH HOWARD FROM EVERTON FOR £10M View attachment 136476
The sale of Dragan Ilic left us a little light on the ground at the centre-back which lead us to signing this young Englishman from Championship club Everton for £10m. Another player on our radar for some time, Everton stopped quoting us ridiculous prices and allowed us to sign the youngster
AARON RAMSEY FROM ARSENAL ON LOAN View attachment 136480
He's coming home! Aaron "Rambo" Ramsey has come back to Cardiff for the second time since leaving for Arsenal back in 2008 (He had a month long loan here in 2011). Caerphilly's finest joined Arsenal for £4.8m and went on to make 374 league appearances for the Gunners, scoring 36 goals and lifting the Community Shield twice, the FA Cup twice as well as captaining them to the Champions League last season
OUT
JORDAN ROSSITER TO CRYSTAL PALACE FOR £16M View attachment 136474
Jordan Rossiter had become a stalwart at the Cardiff City Stadium, having been signed on loan back in January 2016 before signing permanently upon our promotion to the Premier League in 2017. Rossiter made 233 league appearances for us and lifted the Sky Bet Championship, 2 Europa Leagues, 2 European Super Cups and 2 FA Cups. £11.5m well spent on our behalf
JONATHAN KELLY TO TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR FOR £14M View attachment 136472
Jonathan Kelly never made a league appearance for us after joining on a free from New York Red Bulls which makes the £14m gained all the sweeter. The American made a total of 97 league appearances whilst on loan at Halmstads BK, GAIS and Bayer Leverkusen before joining Spurs
YOON DAE-DONG TO SCHALKE FOR £6M View attachment 136471
Yoon Dae-Dong, like Kelly, never made a league appearance for us after joining us, instead preferring to appear for a variety of clubs on loan (Halmstads BK, QPR, Dundee United and Norwich), making a total of 116 league appearances out on loan. Dae-Dong cost us £950,000 from Suwon and has made 58 appearances for South Korea.
BEN MITCHELL TO NORWICH CITY FOR £4.5M View attachment 1068467
I do love signing players, not playing them, then selling them on for profit. Ben cost us £220,000 from Aberdeen and spent most of his time with us on loan in Scotland, mainly at Inverness where he made 102 appearances in the SPL. He also spent time at Luton Town, Kilmarnock, Hearts and Rangers bringing his number of league appearances out on loan up to 222.
FRESNEL DIBA TO NOTTINGHAM FOREST FOR £3.2M View attachment 136470
The mysterious case of Fresnel Diba. He joined us for £5,750 from Dieppe in 2016 with bags of potential and often flattered to deceive. He's scored 33 goals in 87 league games in his career but just hadn't progressed enough for me to keep him here, he scored 4 in 11 league games for us but kept whinging so he had to go
LAERCIO TO LIVERPOOL FOR £1.1M View attachment 136469
Liverpool almost won the league last season, so I have no idea why they want this guy. Singed from Brazilian side Salgueiro for £45,000 back in 2017 he never reached his potential and was moved on. He never played for us, instead making a total of 144 league appearances on loan at Halmstads BK, Wolves, Nottingham Forest and Fulham
TONY WEAVER TO BRENTFORD FOR £1.1M View attachment 136468
Signed from Chelsea for £500,000 in 2021, Tony never played for us, instead making 37 league appearances in the Championship at Luton and then 28 at Huddersfield. Good business
MARK HARRIS TO HUDDERSFIELD TOWN FOR £1M View attachment 136467
Academy product Harris made 8 league appearances for us and 64 on loan at a variety of other clubs, those clubs being: Northampton, Exeter, Bradford, Rotherham, Bristol City, Sunderland, Ipswich, Sheffield United, Sunderland (again), Blackburn, Chesterfield, Brighton, Preston, Rotherham (again) and Huddersfield

Meret, Krejci, Grant, Tausendpfund, Lloyd, Brown, Martinez, P.Boyle (Ferreira 70), Oliver (Zielinski 85), Angerschmid, G.Boyle
Injuries and suspensions meant that we travelled to Old Trafford sporting a makeshift backline featuring a midfielder at centre-back. Luckily our defence (Including forgotten Australian left-back Stuart Lloyd) held firm and kept quiet a United strikeforce featuring Anthony Martial, Memphis Depay and Ante Coric. Our strikeforce, on the other hand, were ruthless, grabbing a late winner on the break

A brilliant performance to go with a brilliant result as we crush Tottenham at the Cardiff City Stadium. We humiliated Spurs as we rushed to a 3-0 lead with 20 minutes before toying with them and playing keep-ball for the remaining 70, not allowing them a sniff
BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE Arsenal 3-1 Cardiff City View attachment 136344
Meret, Krejci, Grant, Tausendpfund, Nakagawa, Brown, Martinez, P.Boyle, Oliver, Angerschmid, G.Boyle
A poor result away to Arsenal finishes our 100% record. Greig Boyle got us off to a flyer 22 minutes in and we looked good value for our lead but Arsenal hit back quickly, scoring the equaliser 13 minutes later. Two quickfire goals in the second half won Arsenal the game, with Calvo's goal being the killer
LEAGUE CUP SECOND ROUND
Fleetwood Town 0-1 Cardiff City View attachment 136343
Meret, Gunter, Jair, Dale, Nakagawa, Grant, Felgate, P.Boyle, Pennock (Oliver 67), de Rooij, G.Boyle A closer result than I wanted but it was never in doubt as we dominated Fleetwood, with Greig Boyle's second half goal being enough to secure us passage into the Third Round

What a way to bounce back! We put Blackburn to the sword in our first league game since the 3-1 loss to Arsenal and absolutely demolished Blackburn as we ran riot. 3 goals in 24 minutes killed the match and allowed us to play keep ball for the remainder of the game
BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE Cardiff City 0-1 Burnley View attachment 136223
Meret, Krejci, Jair, Tausendpfund, Nakagawa, Brown, Martinez (Kuchar 69), P.Boyle, Oliver (Hellemons 85), Angerschmid, G.Boyle

"Can we play you every week?" rung around the Cardiff City Stadium as we mauled Palace, running riot from the first minute to the last. It wasn't the greatest homecoming for Jordan Rossiter as his former teammates ran rings around him and his new pals. Greig Boyle bagged an impressive hat trick and his namesake Paddy grabbed a goal as well as Gunther Tausendpfund, who scored his first ever professional goal

Kyle, Krejci, Jair, Grant (Tausendpfund 63), Nakagawa, Brown, Ramsey, P.Boyle, Oliver (Kuchar 58), Green, Hellemons We smash Bury as our goal scoring form continues. It was the wingers' turn to grab the goals today as Andre Green and Paddy Boyle bagged our trio of goals

Morris, McCoubrey, J.Williams, Walsh, Davies, Ramsey, Grant, Cook (Felgate 65), Lloyd, James (Bale 59), Thomas
An amazing game that neither side deserved to lose took place at the Liberty Stadium as we overcame Scotland by 3 goals to 2. Things started well for us and we soon won a penalty which Jamie Thomas... missed. Fortunately Thomas scored 2 minutes later to give us the lead. Scotland fought back and it looked like they were going to go into half-time 2-1 up through goals from Greig Boyle and Oliver Burke, only for Jamie Thomas to rain on their parade. We improved in the second half and Gary Lloyd's goal was enough to grab us the victory
EURO 2024 QUALIFYING GROUP C Wales 4-0 Switzerland View attachment 136215
Morris, Pugh, Grant (Gunter 79), J.Williams, Thompson, Ramsey (Huws 79), McCoubrey, Cook, Lloyd (Felgate 62), James, Roberts
Wow! We absolutely annihalated the top seeds in the group at home and deserved the victory, smashing Switzerland to a pulp. We took an early lead through Mitchell Grant and douled the lead on the stroke of half-time through Daniel James. Tyler Roberts' goal 6 minutes later killed Switzerland's spirit and any chance of a comeback, Jamie McCoubrey's late goal was his first for Wales.
LEAGUE TABLE View attachment 136214
Those wins leave us 5 points clear at the top of the group and knowing that 8 points from our 4 remaining games (Against Bulgaria, Faroe Islands, Switzerland and Andorra) will guarantee us top spot

A disappointing result but an encouraging performance. Obviously it was hugely infuriating to let a 2 goal lead slip but we dominated Watford and they got lucky. Greig Boyle scored another but was forced off through injury and we really missed having him as a focal point

Phew! A huge sense of relief exuded from the coaching staff as Tyler Roberts saved us from an embarrassing draw late on. We were fairly poor in the first half which allowed Bulgaria to take the lead. Fortunately some half-time tactical meddling fixed that as we exploited the flanks more, finding weaknesses and running out deserved winners in the end. Danny Bellamy made his debut.

A fairly comfortable win away at Derby which has broken our curse of 7 games without a win against the Rams. Oliver scored early on only to get injured 19 minutes later and things looked like they were going badly, with Derby scoring their first shot on target, fortunately we rallied and scored just before half-time, killing Derby's spirit. Meret, Krejci, Jair, Tausendpfund, Nakagawa, Brown, Martinez (Zielinski 67), Green (Hellemons 87), Oliver (James 71), Angerschmid, G.Boyle

BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE Cardiff City 2-1 Arsenal View attachment 135260
Meret, Krejci, Jair, Tausendpfund, Nakagawa, Brown, Martinez (Felgate 63), Green, Oliver (Pritchard 63), Angerschmid, G.Boyle
A top performance has given us a huge three points and loads of confidence heading into the rest of the season, Arsenal are a top team and are the only top team we face until April which makes these three points all the sweeter
BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE Burnley 1-4 Cardiff City View attachment 135259
Meret, Krejci, Jair, Tausendpfund (Betti 89), Nakagawa, Brown, Ramsey (Martinez 45), Green, Oliver, Angerschmid (P.Boyle 64), G.Boyle
Two goals within 10 minutes gave us a perfect start but Burnley hit back and it took us a while to secure the victory, bagging another 2 late in the second half to bag the win

Meret, Krejci, Jair, Tausendpfund, Nakagawa, Brown, Martinez, Green, Oliver (James 53), Angerschmid (P.Boyle 53), G.Boyle
A mammoth victory that will do no harm to our goal difference! Greig Boyle added to his huge tally with another brace while O.G also added a couple to his tally, our wingers also chipped in with a couple of goals
LEAGUE TABLE View attachment 135257
The massive win against Blackburn could be crucial as the league seems to be going down to the wire

FA CUP FOURTH ROUND
Brentford 1-4 Cardiff City View attachment 135206
Meret, Krejci, Jair, Tausendpfund, Nakagawa, Brown, Martinez, Green, Oliver (Block 23), Angerschmid, G.Boyle (Zielinski 59)
Brentford are easily dispatched at Lionel Road as Greig Boyle runs riot once again. We went ahead but Brentford gave us a bit of a shock by equalising quickly, this sparked Boyle into life and he went on to score a hat-trick, crushing the Bees at Lionel Road

Cardiff City 4-1 Preston North End View attachment 135205
Meret, Krejci, Jair, Tausendpfund, Nakagawa, Brown, Martinez (Zielinski 64), Green (P.Boyle 74), Pritchard, Angerschmid (Lacazette 64), G.Boyle
Another 4-1 victory as Greig Boyle puts yet another team to the sword, this time scoring 4 goals and essentially wrapping up the Top Goalscorer award, these wins could be vital if the league title goes down to goal difference
BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Crystal Palace 0-2 Cardiff City View attachment 135204
Meret, Krejci, Jair, Tausendpfund, Nakagawa, Brown, Martinez (Zielinski 58), Green, Pritchard, Angerschmid (P.Boyle 75), G.Boyle
A comfortable, if not emphatic victory away to Crystal Palace as we limit their attack and run riot on their defence, carving them open time after time
BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Nottingham Forest 0-3 Cardiff City View attachment 135203
Meret, Krejci, Jair, Tausendpfund, Nakagawa, Brown, Martinez, Green, Pritchard, Angerschmid, G.Boyle
Two early goals killed the contest, with Forest losing their spirit early on allowing us to control the game and take it out of their reach
FA CUP FIFTH ROUND

Meret, Krejci, Jair (Burke 80), Tausendpfund, Nakagawa, Brown (Zielinski 80), Martinez, Green, Pritchard, Angerschmid (P.Boyle 80), G.Boyle
Another confident performance as we dominate Spurs at New White Hart Lane, penning them in their own half and controlling the game from the off

MARCH View attachment 135191
The old cliche "Every game is a Cup Final" rings true for us as we hunt down Manchester City in the hunt for our first ever league title
BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE Watford 1-1 Cardiff City View attachment 135190
Meret, Krejci, Jair, Tausendpfund, Nakagawa, Brown, Martinez (Grant 57), Green, Pritchard, Angerschmid, G.Boyle (Block 45) A frustrating draw away to Watford that could be costly in the long run we took an early lead and dominated but Watford took their chance when we scuffed ours
BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Cardiff City 0-1 Leicester City View attachment 135189
Meret, Krejci, Tausendpfund, Gunter, Nakagawa, Brown, Martinez, Green (Lacazette 79), Pritchard (Block 79), Angerschmid (P.Boyle 67), Hellemons
This could cost us massively as we drop 5 points when we should have taken all six, our lack of a clinical striker was evident today as Michel Hellemons is just too young and isn't up to standard yet
BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Cardiff City 4-1 Derby County View attachment 135188
Meret, Krejci, Tausendpfund, Burke, Nakagawa, Brown, Martinez (Grant 69), Green, Angerschmid, Block, G.Boyle (Zielinski 76)
An absence of attacking midfielders meant we went with a 4-2-4 formation today and battered Derby with it. Derby are looking likely for the Europa League and to smash them in this manner was very impressive

Southampton 0-3 Cardiff City View attachment 135187
Meret, Krejci (Gunter 76), Jair, Tausendpfund, Nakagawa, Brown (Zielinski 64), Ramsey, Green, Angerschmid, Block, G.Boyle
We seem to be over our blip earlier in the month as we batter the Saints at St.Mary's. The result didn't look like it was coming until Greig Boyle's 66th minute strike which opened the floodgates
FA CUP SIXTH ROUND

A HUGE win that essentially knocks Chelsea out of the title race and makes us Manchester City's sole competitor. A top performance as we held strong an nullified Chelsea's many threats as well as using our own, controlling the game very well

West Ham United 0-3 Cardiff City View attachment 135170
Meret, Krejci, Jair, Tausendpfund (Betti 70), Nakagawa, Brown, Martinez, Green, Oliver (Pritchard 61), Angerschmid, G.Boyle
Boyle was fairly quiet in his last game so it was nice to see him back up to speed by grabbing a hat-trick against the struggling Hammers to condemn them to a 3-0 defeat and to bag us a vital three points that keep us hot on Man City's tail
BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Newcastle United 1-2 Cardiff City View attachment 135169
Meret, Krejci, Jair, Tausendpfund, Nakagawa (Gunter 89), Brown, Martinez (Ramsey 73), Green, Oliver (Pritchard 58), Angerschmid, G.Boyle
A bit of a nervy match as we couldn't put or chances away. Angerschmid put us ahead early on only for Ayoze Perez to score a wonder strike on one of Newcastle's few ventures into our half. We continued to push but it didn't look like the goal was coming until everyone's favourite Scotsman popped up to get us the three points
FA CUP SEMI FINAL
Manchester United 0-1 Cardiff City View attachment 135168
Meret, Krejci, Jair, Tausendpfund, Nakagawa, Brown, Martinez, Green, Oliver (Grant 81), Angerschmid, G.Boyle Greig Boyle's wonderful fist half header was enough to get us into the FA Cup Final, progressing from what was a very poor Semi Final. Both sides managed a combined 4 shots on target which was incredibly poor when considering the quality on show, but all you need to do is win in these games, the performance doesn't matter
BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE Leeds United 0-1 Cardiff City View attachment 135167
Meret, Krejci, Jair (Gunter 81), Tausendpfund, Nakagawa, Brown, Martinez, Green (Ramsey 62), Oliver (Block 81), Angerschmid, G.Boyle
An incredibly jittery performance as the finishing line becomes clearer. Some of our big players were off form today, with Greig Boyle only managing a Match Rating of 5.3, but fortunately we pulled through and grabbed all three points

We're top! Manchester City have completely bottled it and it leaves us top of the league with the title in our hands!

EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP GROUP STAGE View attachment 134923
We've been drawn in a group with Italy, Scotland and Sweden. We have no expectations, with most of the country just happy we're here, I think differently, however, and have devised a masterplan to get out of the group, kinda

Morris, Pugh, Grant, J.Williams, Thompson, McCoubrey, Felgate (Ramsey 45), Huws (Pennock 83), Lloyd (Cook 65), G.Williams, Thomas
Wow. Wow, wow, wow. Our very defensive 4-5-1 worked wonders here as we stifled Italy and broke with speed, taking the majority of our chances and scoring ruthlessly. Italy took an early lead and a mauling looked on the cards, but we rallied and equalised through an impressive counter attack, we were the better side going into the break and were the better side after it and soon took the lead through George Williams, a worldie from Jamie Thomas put the game out of the reach of the Italians, although their second sent hearts fluttering for a while.
MATCHDAY 2
Scotland 2-2 Wales View attachment 134920
Morris, Pugh, Grant, J.Williams, Thompson, Ramsey, Huws (McCoubrey 62), Lloyd, Pennock, G.Williams (Bale 62), Thomas
Greig Boyle and Jamie Thomas were locked in a personal battle today as they shared the four goals scored in this game. Scotland have a decent team and two top players, Conrad Gempf and Greig Boyle and could go far in the competition, mainly due to their world class striker
MATCHDAY 3
Wales 2-1 Sweden View attachment 134919
Morris, McCoubrey, Giggs, Bellamy, Fox, Felgate, Huws (Grant 56), Cook, Pennock (J.Williams 84), Bale (G.Williams 62), Sampson
Two of the squad's lesser lights came to the fore today as we edged past Sweden and into the Second Round. Danny Sampson and Rhys Cook both ply their trade in the Championship and came through at Cardiff and that relationship was key as they scored two very important goals to put us ahead and eventually through into the Second Round of the European Championship!
LEAGUE TABLE View attachment 134918
Amazing! Unfortunately Scotland have pipped us to first on goal difference (Greig Boyle has scored all 6 of their goals so far), hopefully we get a decent draw in the next round
