CONFEDERATIONS CUP GROUP STAGE
View attachment 131756
Brazil, Australia and USA are our counterparts in Group B of the Confederations Cup. This is the tougher group by far with the other including Argentina, Mexico, Senegal and New Zealand

CONFEDERATIONS CUP GROUP B
Wales 2-1 Brazil
View attachment 131755
Morris, Pugh, Giggs, Bellamy, Thompson, Grant, Felgate (McCoubrey 63), Ramsey (Wilson 63), Lloyd (Owens 66), Parry, Roberts

Our brand of "anti-football" worked to full effect here as we nullified the Brazilians before hitting them on the counter, with Jamie Parry and Gary Lloyd wreaking havoc with their runs beyond the Brazilian defence. We had 35% possession but proved that quality is more important than quantity by ruthlessly putting away our chances. The fact that Brazil's goal was a long range thunderbolt was a huge testament to our defensive performance

CONFEDERATIONS CUP GROUP B
Australia 0-1 Wales
View attachment 131753
Morris, Pugh, Giggs, Bellamy, Thompson, Felgate, Grant, Lloyd, Pennock, Parry (G.Williams 61), Roberts (J.Thomas 61)

We deployed our more attacking formation against Australia here and dominated but struggled to break down their bank of 6 defensive players (They played 4-4-2 with 2 defensive midfielders) until Roberts glanced home a top quality Robert Pugh cross to give us the lead early in the second half There was no looking back from there as we continued to dominate against the Aussies

CONFEDERATIONS CUP GROUP B
USA 0-1 Wales

Morris, Rees, Giggs, J.Williams, Davies, McCoubrey, Wilson, Ramsey (Pennock 69), Owens, G.Williams, Al-Wadi (J.Thomas 82)

Anti football is back! A weakened side forced America to shoot from range while Stephen Al-Wadi's shot cannoned off Tyson Brown just minutes before half-time to give us the advantage and eventual victory over 'Murica

We finish top of a tough Confederations Cup group while Brazil endure a dreadful campaign, losing to us, drawing with America and somehow managing to lose to Australia!

CONFEDERATIONS CUP SEMI FINAL
Senegal 1-3 Wales
View attachment 131746
Morris, Pugh, Giggs, Bellamy, Thompson, Felgate (Wilson 67), Pennock, Grant (McCoubrey 67), Lloyd (Owens 76), Parry, Roberts

We dropped Pennock from his position in the hole into a position of a midfield three alongside Cardiff teammates Mitchell Grant and Adam Felgate and it worked a treat. We went 1-0 down due to a costly error from Adam Felgate but bounced back almost immediately through Mitchell Grant. Gary Lloyd scored the rebound after his close range shot was saved to give us the lead and Tyler Roberts scored his 35th goal for Wales to give us the victory. We will play Argentina in the final

BLUEBIRDS BRING SIGN FREE DUO

View attachment 131735
Cardiff City have today announced the signing of two internationals for a fee of.. nothing

The Bluebirds, who haven't been afraid to splash their considerable levels of cash in the past, have signed midfield duo Hakan Bay and David Donnelly for nothing

First to sign was South African international David Donnelly who joined from Portuguese side Boavista, with whom he'd spent three seasons

Donnelly, 20, made 87 league appearances for Boavista, scoring five goals for them after joining from South African side Jomo Cosmos for £400,000 back in 2023

Donnelly, who's joined Olympique Lyonnais on loan until the end of the season, has 29 caps for South Africa with the 20 year old being a key player for Bafana Bafana
View attachment 131734

Second to join was Belgian international Hakan Bay, who's signed from Real Madrid having failed to make an impact at the Bernabeu

Bay, 22, has been a long term target of City, with their first recorded interest coming back in 2020, a year or so before Bay joined Real Madrid for £3.5m

Bay began his career at Belgian side KV Kortijk, where he made 26 league appearances before joining Real Madrid

Bay never made an appearance in his four seasons at the Bernabeu, instead spending time on loan at Club Brugge and Anderlecht where he made a combined 63 league appearances

Despite his lack of first team games at Madrid, Bay made 3 appearances for Belgium, where he used his incredible versatility to his advantage, making him the supreme squad player

CARDIFF WINGERS JOIN BAYERN

View attachment 131731
Bayern Munich have today announced the signings of two wingers from Premier League side Cardiff City for a combined fee of £44m

The first to sign for the Bavarians was Northern Ireland winger Paddy Boyle, who joined Bayern for £29m

Boyle, 23, joined Cardiff for £185,000 from Northern Irish side Dungannon Swifts back in 2018, the Northern Irish side will receive £4m from this transfer due to a sell-on clause

Boyle made 96 appearances in all competitions for Cardiff, lifting 2 Premier League titles, 1 FA Cup, the Europa League and the Champions League

Boyle has made 19 appearances for his country, scoring 1 goal for the country where he is known as a superstar

The second to leave the Bluebirds was Brazilian wide man Ferreira, who's joined Bayern for £15m.

Ferreira, who joined Cardiff from Atletico Mineiro for £7.5m in 2021, had found his chances limited as his path into the first team was blocked by Andre Green

Ferreira made 217 appearances in Brazil before joining Cardiff, scoring 83 goals for Mineiro wher he soon became a fan's favourite.

He made 72 appearances in all competitions for Cardiff, with 47 of those coming in his first season, he scored 4 goals for the Bluebirds in those 72 appearances, chipping in with 7 assists

Ferreira started only 4 games in his last 2 seasons at Cardiff and has spent time on loan at both Schalke and Bayern, spending both of his last 2 seasons in Germany

AUGUST
View attachment 131670
An action packed opening month to the season featuring 3 different competitions

COMMUNITY SHIELD
Cardiff City 3-2 Manchester United

View attachment 131669
Meret, Krejci, Jair, Koulopoulos, Ganea, Brown, Martinez (Felgate 55), Green, Oliver (Grant 79), Angerschmid, G.Boyle

A game that we should have put out of sight on numerous occasions but we just kept letting United back in. Twice we lead by 2 goals but we allowed United to score, making the game cagier, tighter and more nervy than it ever should have been. 1/7th of The Septuple is complete

BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Cardiff City 5-1 Tottenham Hotspur

View attachment 131668
Meret, Krejci, Jair, Koulopoulos, Ganea, Brown, Martinez (Felgate 66), Green, Oliver (Pritchard 66), Angerschmid, G.Boyle (Carlos 73)

A performance straight out of the top drawer to kick off our league campaign as we destroy Tottenham 5-1 to start the season. We sent out a real statement to our title rivals here with Greig Boyle scoring a hat-trick as he aims to continue his incredible scoring record

EUROPEAN SUPER CUP
Valencia 0-2 Cardiff City

View attachment 131666
Meret, Krejci, Jair, Koulopoulos, Nakagawa, Brown, Martinez (Felgate 75), Green, Oliver (Pritchard 75), Parry, G.Boyle

A comfortable victory over Valencia here as we win our third European Super Cup. Brown and Boyle struck again (BnB anyone?) to sink the Spaniards to continue our 100% record in the Premier League. 2/7ths of The Septuple are complete

BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Leeds United 1-3 Cardiff City

View attachment 131664
Meret, Krejci, Jair, Koulopoulos, Nakagawa, Brown, Martinez (Felgate 63), Green, Oliver, Parry, G.Boyle (Carlos 21)

The game was over in 21 minutes as we put Palace to the sword and complete an easy victory. Unfortunately, Greig Boyle's game was also complete in 21 minutes as he was forced off with an injury, leaving us without our best striker for the coming weeks

BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Cardiff City 0-0 Southampton

View attachment 131663
Meret, Krejci, Jair, Kouopoulos, Nakagawa, Brown, Martinez, Green, Oliver (Pritchard 70), Angerschmid, Block (Felix 87)

No top class striker. No cutting edge. We battered Southampton but failed to score here as we were missing our two best strikers due to hamstring problems. We missed 6 clear cut chances today. Poor.

BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Derby County 0-2 Cardiff City

View attachment 131662
Meret, Krejci, Jair, Koulopoulos, Nakagawa, Brown (Grant 71), Martinez, Green, Oliver, Angerschmid, Ali (Hellemons 77)

Welcome to the late late show! We scored 2 in the last 10 minutes to spare our blushes at Pride Park as we continue to miss the cutting edge of Greig Boyle and even Jose Carlos! Michel Hellemons scored his first goal for us since returning from Dortmund where he spent last season on loan, scoring 17 goals in 22 games for BVB

Top of the table going into the second month is very promising, hopefully we can extend our lead at the top

BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Cardiff City 2-1 Hull City
View attachment 131499
Kyle, Krejci, Grant, Jair, Nakagawa, Brown (Bellamy 58), Martinez (Felgate 85), Green, Pritchard, Angerschmid, G.Boyle

A slightly weakened side due to injuries sustained during the international struggled to put Hull to bed here as we spurned chance after chance. Wales hero Jamie Thomas put Hull ahead 2 minutes in but we had our own world beater up top with Greig Boyle as he led a one-man crusade to beat the Humbersiders

BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Chelsea 0-0 Cardiff City
View attachment 131496
Kyle, Krejci, Grant, Jair, Nakagawa, Brown, Martinez (Felgate 80), Green, Oliver (Pricthard 69), Angerschmid, G.Boyle

An even but drab match where two quality strikers struck to give their sides a share of the points. Our hosts went ahead early on and forced us to come from behind, fortunately we came back and continued our unbeaten record

LEAGUE CUP THIRD ROUND
Cardiff City 5-1 Southampton

View attachment 131494
Kyle, Krejci, Grant, Jair, Nakagawa, Brown, Martinez, Green, Oliver, Angerschmid, G.Boyle

Southampton were blown away within the first 40 minutes as we put the Saints to the sword. Goals rained down as we battered them, booking our place in the next round before half-time. Greig Boyle put the cherry on the cake with his third goal of the match in the 60th minute

BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Cardiff City 5-0 Newcastle United

View attachment 131492
Kyle, Krejci, Grant, Jair, Nakagawa, Brown, Martinez, Green, Oliver, Angerschmid , G.Boyle (Carlos 45)

Another game that was sorted out early on. We blew Newcastle away within 25 minutes as we steamrolled the Magpies, racing into a 4-0 lead. Boyle bagged another hat-trick but was forced off at half-time due to a twisted ankle. We added our fifth in the second half to add insult to injury

A tough month with games against Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal

BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Manchester United 0-0 Cardiff City

View attachment 131327
Kyle, Krejci, Jair, Koulopoulos (Grant 72), Nakagawa, Brown, Martinez, Green, Oliver (Pritchard 67), Angerschmid, Carlos (Hellemons 77)

We were dominated slightly here as United attempted to make up some ground as they've fallen behind very early on this season. Fortunately our defence held and inexperienced keeper Andy Kyle kept an important clean sheet

BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Cardiff City 1-0 Liverpool
View attachment 131326
Kyle, Koulopoulos, Jair, Tausendpfund, Nakagawa, Grant, Felgate (Parry 63), Green, Oliver (Pritchard 63), Angerschmid, G.Boyle

A side hit by international injuries struggled over the line against Liverpool where a solitary Andre Green goal was enough for us to get the three points

BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Arsenal 2-1 Cardiff City
View attachment 131321
Kyle, Krejci, Jair, Koulopoulos, Nakagawa, Grant, Felgate, Green (Felix 76), Oliver (Pritchard 61), Parry, G.Boyle

A side still hit by injuries visited the Emirates where Arsenal inflicted our first league defeat of the season. It was a very even game which could have gone either way, unfortunately it went the way of the Gunners

LEAGUE CUP FOURTH ROUND
Cardiff City 2-0 Arsenal
View attachment 131320
Kyle, Krejci, Koulopoulos, Jair, Nakagawa, Grant, Felgate, Green (Felix 59), Oliver, Angerschmid, G.Boyle (Carlos 59)

We welcomed Arsenal to the Cardiff City Stadium and turned the tables on them. Comfortably beating them 2-0 via goals from midfield pair Mitchell Grant and Adam Felgate, who scored his first goal for us today. A solid performance with our depleted side

Morris, Rees (Pugh 45), Giggs, Bellamy, John, Grant, Felgate (Ramsey 45), Lloyd (Owens 64), D.Thomas (J.Thomas 45), Parry, S.Williams (Sampson 74)

A dominant performance, 7 goals and a clean sheet against Bhutan to add confidence ahead of a crucial trip to Finland. A screamer within a minute from Grant set the tone for the match as we wreaked havoc on the Bhutanese defence, with Jamie Thomas grabbing a second half hat-trick

WORLD CUP QUALIFYING GROUP 10
Finland 0-2 Wales

Morris, Pugh, Giggs, Bellamy, Thompson, McCoubrey, Ramsey (Ramsey 59), Felgate, Lloyd, Parry (D.Thomas 80), J.Thomas (S.Williams 73)

What. A. Game. We were involved in an absolute classic at the Britannia where you just didn't know what was going to happen next. Hugely frustrating to watch as we dominated but looked like we'd lose it but what a game for the neutrals to see the champions go 3-1 up only to be 4-3 down 13 minutes later. Fortunately we got the win but Meret has been a bit dodgy since coming back from injury, conceding 6 in 2 games

We continue to dominate our Champions League group, this time not allowing Anderlecht a single shot on target while we ruthlessly scored 4 goals to finish our group stage campaign in style

FOREST BUY BLUEBIRDS DUO
View attachment 130841
Nottingham Forest have decided to pay for the next few Christmas parties with their recent purchases of Cardiff City fringe players for a combined fee of £34m

The first and most expensive signing was that of attacking midfielder/striker Nicky Reed for a fee of £21m

Reed, 21, joined Cardiff from boyhood club Sheffield Wednesday for a fee of £2m back in 2021 at the age of 17, he failed to make an appearance for Cardiff, instead spending time on loan at Exeter, Portsmouth, MK Dons, Chesterfield, Blackburn, QPR, Wolves and West Ham, making 121 league appearances and scoring 41 league goals

Cardiff will have the option to buy him back for £27m at any time

The second to join Forest was Romanian international left-back Silviu Ganea, who's signed for £13m

Ganea, 24, joined Cardiff for £1.3m in 2019 from Romanian lower league side CFM Cluj and made 30 league appearances for the Bluebirds, winning the Club World Championship, European Super Cup, the FA Cup and two Europa League titles during his time in the Welsh capital

Ganea constantly found his first team chances limited at Cardiff due to Japanese left-back Yusuke Nakagawa and has left in search of first team football

We enter 2026 with 3 trophies under our belt already this season, we currently sit top of the league and have a semi-final this month, could we make this the season of dreams?

BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 Cardiff City

Meret, Krejci, Jair, Koulopoulos, Nakagawa, Grant, Martinez, Green, Pritchard (Felgate 81), Angerschmid (Parry 65), G.Boyle

An early header and a late Andre Green goal were enough to beat Spurs at New White Hart Lane, we were dominant but need to be more ruthless with our chances

FA CUP THIRD ROUND
Portsmouth 1-3 Cardiff City

Kyle, Harrington, Tausendpfund, Bellamy, Ganea, Felgate, Martinez, Felix, Pennock, Parry, Carlos

A heavily rotated side overcame League 1 Portsmouth fairly comfortably here at Fratton Park as we run out 3-1 winners despite missing a penalty. An assured performance from our youngsters. The ages of the starting XI were: 23, 20, 21, 20, 23, 21, 23, 20, 19, 19, 23. Amazingly, despite the ages, there were 8 full internationals in the starting XI

Meret, Krejci, Jair, Koulopoulos, Nakagawa, Pritchard, Grant, Green, Vuljanko (Martinez 45), Angerschmid, G.Boyle

We handed young Croat Mihael Vuljanko his first start today before a fitness issue forced him to come off. After that, it seemed, we really kicked on, with England international (Grrr) Gareth Pritchard scoring 1 and assisting 1 to help us run out 3-0 winners

BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE

Meret, Krejci, Jair, Koulopoulos, Nakagawa, Grant, Martinez, Green, Pritchard (Felix 67), Angerschmid (Parry 67), G.Boyle

Two goals in ten minutes from Gareth Pritchard and Greig Boyle were enough for us to overcome oil-rich Leeds United as we continue our impressive league form

Everton 1-3 Cardiff City

Meret, Krejci, Jair, Koulopoulos, Nakagawa, Grant, Martinez (Felgate 77), Green, Pritchard, Angerschmid (Felix 77), G.Boyle

A brace from Greig Boyle and a late goal from Andre Green sandwiched the first league goal we've conceded this month. Annoying.

Southampton 0-3 Cardiff City

Meret, Krejci, Jair, Koulopoulos, Nakagawa, Grant, Martinez, Green, Pritchard, Angerschmid (Felix 54), G.Boyle

It was a bit touch-and-go for a while here as we failed to put away our chances against Southampton, fortunately Panigotis Koulopoulos bagged a rare goal to ease our tension before Andre Green and Greig Boyle added 2 goals late on to make it a convincing win

Meret, Krejci, Jair, Koulopoulos, Nakagawa, Brown (Grant 75), Martinez, Green, Pritchard (Felgate 75), Angerschmid, G.Boyle

Forest managed to score 2 with one shot on target! Jair gave them a helping hand with an own goal while ex-Bluebird Nicky Reed bagged a late consolation to make the scoreline appear less convincing than it should have

BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Cardiff City 5-1 Derby County

Meret, Krejci, Jair, Koulpoulos, Nakagawa, Brown (Grant 67), Martinez, Green (Felix 67), Pritchard, Angerschmid, G.Boyle (Carlos 74)

A solid victory over Derby than had the shine taken off of it by their last minute consolation evading the grasp of Alex Meret. Jair made up for last game's error by putting the ball in the right net.. twice! David Brown started the scoring with a screamer with his replacement ending it with another one, good win

LEAGUE CUP SEMI FINAL SECOND LEG
Stoke City 1-2 Cardiff City
Cardiff win 5-1 on aggregate

We knew all we had to do here was not lose by more than 3 and we did that! A solid victory here has set us up with a date at Wembley against.... Derby.

FA CUP FOURTH ROUND
Derby County 0-1 Cardiff City

A win is all we needed to get to the next round and that's what we got, with Greig Boyle (who else?) getting the all-important goal to defeat The Rams. Another injury to David Brown though, frustrating.

Huge win! We batter Chelsea here with Greig Boyle showing everyone why he won the Ballon D'Or, scoring an impressive hat-trick against a (usually) stern defence

Newcastle United 1-0 Cardiff City

2 shots. 1 on target. 1 goal. Those were Newcastle's stats as they pulled of an unlikely victory as we spurned chance after chance. Hugely disappointing following the victory over Chelsea

Meret, Krejci, Koulopoulos, Jair, Nakagawa, Grant, Martinez (Felix 68), Green, Pritchard (Felgate 68), Angerschmid, G.Boyle

That's more like it! We dispatch Hull fairly easily as we run riot against a club glued to the foot of the table, Greig Boyle broke the all-time league goalscoring record of 128 set by Len Davies almost 100 years ago. Boyle has scored 129 league goals in 198 league games for the club. Legend.

We've had some titanic clashes with United over the years and this wasn't one of them. We dominated United who are a mere shadow of what they once were and we really should have scored more

FA CUP FIFTH ROUND
Cardiff City 3-0 Wolverhampton Wanderers

View attachment 130686
Meret, Krejci, Jair, Koulopoulos, Nakagawa, Grant (Brown 74), Martinez, Green, Pritchard (Oliver 77), Angerschmid, G.Boyle (Carlos 63)

A comprehensive victory over Wolves coupled with the kind of performance you'd expect as we dominated possession, allowing them just one shot as they attempted to kick us off the park, racking up 26 fouls over the course of the 90 minutes. Onto the next round!

A tense match which was decided by a late goal by forgotten man Michel Hellemons, who replaced injured superstar Greig Boyle, we need to improve in the second leg
