CONFEDERATIONS CUP FINAL
Wales 1-1 Brazil

Phew! What an eventful game! 120 minutes, 16 penalties in the shootout and 12 bookings! Somehow, there wasn't a red and we battle through to victory. It looked like we'd won in extra time through Kieron Sellick's first international goal, but Brazil pegged us back almost immediately and forced us through the ordeal of penalties. Fortunately we held our nerve and retained our Confederations Cup title

LOAN STARS RETURN

Wrexham have today announced the signing of two players on loan, both of whom will be very familiar to the Robins faithful

The fist signing announced was that of Mark Giles, who's returned to Wrexham from Cardiff City for a third season long loan in a row

19 year old Wales Under 21 international Giles cited his personal relationship with Robins boss Matthew Hawkins as a huge factor in his return, labelling him a "Managerial great"

Giles has made 82 appearances fro Wrexham in all competitions, scoring 36 goals for the club and was the club's leading scorer last campaign with 20
View attachment 126734

The second signing announced was that of central defender David Rogers, who's joined Wrexham on loan from Southampton for a second season in a row

Wales international Rogers, 21, joined the Robins last season and soon became a rock at the heart of the defence, making 44 appearances for the side

The defender, who can also play in midfield, began his career at Villa before joining the Saints for £575,000 and is touted as a potential star of the future

TWO IN, ONE FEE, ONE FREE
View attachment 126731
Wrexham have today announced the signings of two players, one from the Bargain Bin and another from the Finest Aisle

First up is the one from the bargain bin, 19 year old Ollie Robson, who's joined the Robins following the expiration of his contract at Port Vale, where he started his career.

Robson made 29 appearances for Port Vale, notching up six assists from his favoured attacking midfield position but, despite this, the England Under 19 international, who's also eligible for Scotland, was let go
View attachment 126730

The second signing was one from the opposite end of the scale, left back Lewis Richards, who's joined the club from Newport County for £180,000

Newport-born Wales Under 19 international Richards, 24, had spent his entire career at Newport, making 218 appearances for the Exiles over a 7 year period

WREXHAM BRING IN FOUR

View attachment 126662
Wrexham have today announced the signing of four players, one on loan, one for a fee and two for free

First up was the loan signing of midfielder/winger Rob Foster from Premier League side Liverpool on a season long loan

Foster, 19, has joined the Robins in order to offer competition to winger Josh Munday on the left hand side

Foster spent last season on loan at Accrington Stanley, accruing 4 goals, 8 assists and 6 Man of the Match awards in 43 games
View attachment 126661

The second signing was that of Warren Conway from Wigan Athletic for £14,250

Conway, 21, had spent his entire career at Wigan before joining Wrexham, making 30 appearances for them in League 2 in his six professional seasons at the club

Manchester-born Conway can play either up front or in behind the striker and will offer some vital cover in those areas
View attachment 126660

The third signing announced was that of Will Powell on a free transfer

Powell, 19, had been courted by a number of clubs following the expiration of his contract at Cardiff City, with even Premier League Middlesbrough being linked to the Wales Under 21 international

No deals were forthcoming, however, and he has decided to stay in his homeland, joining North Wales' biggest club
View attachment 126659

The fourth and final signing was by far the oldest signing and it was that of 30 year old Stephen Hopkins on a free transfer

Hopkins, 30, has had a varied career since emerging at boyhood club Swansea, making 191 Football League appearances for Swansea, Rochdale, Yeovil, Oldham, Gilingham, Newport County, Swindon and Middlesbrough

Hopkins has joined as a backup in both midfield and in attack

3 LEAVE ROBINS
View attachment 126621
Three players have today left the Racecourse for good, raking in thousands of pounds for the club as they attempt to re-establish their firm financial footing

First to leave the club was centre back Neil Mason, who has joined Sunderland for £80,000

Mason, 23, joined Wrexham for free last summer and made just 12 league appearances before moving on to last season's League 1 champions

Mason's exit was quickly followed by that of left winger Josh Munday, who has joined Notts County for £250,000

26 year old winger Munday joined Wrexham from Scunthorpe back in February 2028 for £26,000. He went on to make 61 league appearances for the Robins, scoring 9 goals and bagging 28 assists in the most fruitful few years of his career

The final player to leave was young starlet Dylan Maxwell, who has joined Championship side Norwich City for £450,000

Maxwell, 17, had been courted by a variety of clubs this summer, with Sunderland, Everton and Blackburn all interested in the youngster, following his request to leave Wrexham

40% of Maxwell's next transfer fee will go to Wrexham

Fortunately we took an early 2 goal lead before losing our second choice right winger to injury, which forced us to bring on our fourth choice right winger, Gareth Powell, for his international debut Fortunately, he had a stromer, scoring one and setting up Dale Thomas' to complete a 4-2 rout

3 minutes of silliness cost us dearly here as we battered Walsall but lost 2-0 in 3 minutes. Poor.

Despite their goals, Bolton never really looked like winning as we ran riot, scoring four and it could have been more. Also a nice moment for youth academy graduate Michael Richards as he bagged his first goal for the club

A very tight, even game where a draw was a fair result and that's exactly what happened!

SEMI FINALS!!! WE'RE THROUGH TO THE SEMI FINALS!!! If I'm fully honest, I didn't really want to win this match because the league is more important but we were tremendous and managed to get through to the semis where we'll play... Brentford.

Cardiff boy Mark Giles was properly up for it today and it showed as he smashed 4 goals past a hapless Swansea City goalkeeper. Lovely stuff.

A strange game as Peterborough ventured out of their half three times and scored... three times. Unfortunately we weren't quite so clinical because if we were we'd have scored at least 50

A HUGE top of the table clash ended with a HUGE win for us! This could be crucial at the end of the season as we battle it out with Bury for the League 1 title

We absolutely battered Burton but just couldn't get the winner. I'm happy that we got it back from 2-0 but we should never have been in that situation in the first place

17,000 people were at Wembley to see Sean Mitchell try and throw away our first trophy since the FA Trophy in 2019. Carl Peters will go down in Wrexham folklore for winning us this trophy, what a man.

Wow. Wow, wow, wow. We took the lead three times against a Premier League club, admittedly we lost it twice but at least we held on to it in the end when Billy Coveney's breakaway goal following a Mark Giles long ball sunk the Bees and allowed the Red Dragons to roar into the FA Cup Final.... that sounded a lot better in my head...

Phew. When we went 1-0 down after a minute I feared tat our promotion push had hit a significant bump in the road and that it would all be derailed. Fortunately Paul Harper equalised in less time than it took to write that sentence and it was all Wrexham from there, with Ollie Robson and Paul Harper applying the finishing touches to a satisfying victory
