MATCHDAY 9

AFC WIMBLEDON 4 - 0 CRAWLEY

images

The battle of the two promoted teams today, but with both sides at different ends of the table, Crawley looking to get out of the relegation zone and us trying to keep our unbeaten record in tact.
We stuck with the 442 formation that has been a huge success since the injury to Nikola Saric, and it continued that way with Craig Westcarr(38) and Danny Kedwell(43) both continuing to fight it out between them for our leading scorer. Christian Jolley(70) and Danny Kedwell(74) got our goals in the second half as we ran out easy winners against a Crawley team fielding expensive purchases.

**New loan signing George Moncur got injured in the game against Crawley ruling him out for 2 out of the 3 months he is on loan at us.

MATCHDAY 10

BURY 1 - 2 AFC WIMBLEDON

images

We had 4 players away on youth international duty for the game tonight, so the squad had to have a big re-shuffle. This was to prove largely evident as it took a while for the boys to get going, Ryan Lowe(44) scored just before the break to make the half time talk all the more difficult. After the break though, we looked a much better side and got a great 3 points thanks to goals from Danny Kedwell(60) and scoring his first for the club Toni Silva(78) proved to be the winner.

MATCHDAY 11

AFC WIMBLEDON 2 - 0 ALDERSHOT

images

Another victory this afternoon meant we kept our fantastic start to the season going. Louis Moult(26) and Danny Kedwell(45) showed they can complement each other by assisting each others goals. Aldershot did end the game with nine men after Manny Panther(Sent off, 92) and Ben Harding(Sent off,92) were dismissed deep in injury time.

Delighted with the start we've made and starting to get key players back and hopefully the end of the injury jinx that we faced a few games ago. Both Craig Westcarr and Danny Kedwell have been the key performers so far this season.

Good three games there mate, awesome. And beating money bags crawly too lol

Cheers mate, managed to fit a quick 3 games in, before sorting house move out. Yeah delighted I thrashed them, they have a stupidly good team for this level, but are struggling big time and about to go through another takeover!! oh well, ive shown money can't buy you everything, haha. ;)

nice results yet again and good easy detail! :) wonderful read kiu

MATCHDAY 12

BARNET 2 - 3 AFC WIMBLEDON

images

We welcomed Nikola Saric back to the starting eleven today and he was the difference as we ran out winners in this entertaining game. Rene Howe(17) gave Barnet the lead, Nikola Saric(48) equalised when he slid home from close range. Brett Johnson(70) and Nikola Saric(78) gave us a two goal cushion, but an Stephen Henderson(Own goal,81) made us fight till the end to claim victory.

npowerhead.jpg

MATCHDAY 13

AFC WIMBLEDON 0 - 0 BRADFORD

images

This game was not pretty, and very uneventful. Both sides matched each other throughout and neither side were able to break the deadlock.

npowerhead.jpg

MATCHDAY 14

TORQUAY 0 - 4 AFC WIMBLEDON

images

We put the midweek bore draw behind us, and produced the sort of performance that we are capable of, and have been showing in the early part of the season. Danny Kedwell(23) and Craig Westcarr(37) gave us a well desereved lead at the break. Christian Jolley(58) and Rahid Yussuff(74) then doubled our advantage to seal a superb away win.

npowerhead.jpg

MATCHDAY 15

AFC WIMBLEDON 2 - 2 CREWE

images

Clayton Donaldson(16) got Crewe off to a flyer and we struggled for the opening half hour to get the ball, due to Crewe's attacking mentality. Then Danny Kedwell(40) and Sammy Moore(44) swung the game in our favour. Although after the break we had more possession and shots on goal, we let Crewe equalise through Lee Holmes(54) and thats how the game ended.

*** BREAKING TRANSFER NEWS ***

images

AFC Wimbledon manager Andy Samuels has signed highly rated Norwich youngster Tom Adeyemi on a 3 month loan deal. '' Tom is an exceptional talent and our fans' will be treated to wonderful midfield displays during his time here. He has come in, as we had to send George Moncur back to West Ham due to injury.'' added Samuels.

FA CUP 1st ROUND

AFC WIMBLEDON 2 - 0 CHELTENHAM

images

A chance for us to get our own back on Cheltenham today after they dumped us out of the JPT. And we did that, with a competant performance. Goals from Nikola Saric(19) and Danny Kedwell(55) ensured we got the victory to seal our safe passage through to round two.

MATCHDAY 16

CHESTERFIELD 1 - 1 AFC WIMBLEDON

images

We were missing a couple of players again today who were away on international duty, and we were up against a good Chesterfield side, so to come away with a point I was very satisfied. Louis Moult(41) scored for us at a great time, and I thought we were going to hold on for an away victory, but Scott Boden(90) ensured both teams settled for a point.

npowerhead.jpg

MATCHDAY 17

AFC WIMBLEDON 1 - 1 EXETER

images

We were reduced to ten men early on in the game with Nikola Saric(Sent off,14) after a horror tackle. Although we had a player less we continued to dominate the whole game, Brett Johnson(45) scored with a header deep in injury time in the 1st half, we looked to have got a priceless victory with 10 men, until Matt Taylor(90) scored a header from a dubious free kick.

npowerhead.jpg

MATCHDAY 18

AFC WIMBLEDON 1 - 0 CHELTENHAM

images

This waould be the third time we have met Cheltenham in a short space of time and again we managed to get the upper hand and finally stop a run of draws, and managed to get a well desered win. Brett Johnson(25) was the hero today scoring his fifth of the season with a powerful header.

FA CUP 2nd ROUND

AFC WIMBLEDON 3 - 1 BRADFORD

images

We were choosen to be shown on t.v for this round, which gave us an extra day to prepare the squad. Still sticking with 442, due to Saric still serving his suspension, it was the Kedwell/Moult show as Danny Kedwell(17) opened the scoring, but we were pegged back by Jake Speight(30). After the break we took more control of the game and our front pairing Louis Moult(68), then Danny Kedwell(86) sealed the win and an away tie with Bristol City in the next round.

npowerhead.jpg

MATCHDAY 19

AFC WIMBLEDON 0 - 0 NOTTS CO

images

This game was being tipped to be an absolute cracker, with Notts County top and us a point behind in 2nd. And the pundits got it horribly wrong, with nothing of interest happening, and barely a shot on target.

npowerhead.jpg

MATCHDAY 20

HARTLEPOOL 2 - 3 AFC WIMBLEDON

images

The unbeaten run still remained after this hard fought victory and long drive north. Simon Whaley(12) put the home side infront, only for the prolific Danny Kedwell(20) to score to make the scores level at half time. Hartlepool then took the lead again Gavin Massey(52) finding the net from a tight angle. Nikola Saric(59) back from his ban scored a tap in, and then sealed the win Saric(81) with his second and completed a brilliant comeback.

npowerhead.jpg

MATCHDAY 21

AFC WIMBLEDON 0 - 1 NORTHAMPTON

images

I guess the unbeaten run had to come to an end, but never thought it would in bizarre fashion. Despite us completely dominating against Northampton, and hitting the bar three times, and post twice. On a rare Northampton attack, Sam Hatton(Own goal,43) somehow diverted a cross into his own net, and although we still battered the away sides goal, we couldn't break them down.

npowerhead.jpg

MATCHDAY 22

ACCRINGTON 0 - 3 AFC WIMBLEDON

images

We bounced back from our shock defeat, as we faced 3 away games in succession, and Toni Silva(5) settld any early nerves and allowed us to find our rhythm early in the game. Ryan Jackson(75) and Brett Johnson(90) sealed a well fought victory and moved us into 1st place.

npowerhead.jpg

MATCHDAY 23

STEVENAGE 1 - 3 AFC WIMBLEDON

images

We stayed away all week as we had alot of travelling to do, and I felt this would help the team bond even more and top up the team spirit. This was our second away game in as many days and the boys produced a great victory again. Danny Kedwell(5) opened the scoring, but Joel Byrom(21) levelled and thats how it stayed until just after the break when Kedwell(48) scored with a fine header. Luke Moore(76) sealed the win with his second of the season.

npowerhead.jpg

MATCHDAY 24

MACCLESFIELD 1 - 0 AFC WIMBLEDON

images

Maybe asking for three wins out of three away games in the space of a week was too much to ask, but I never thought Macclesfield, who were rooted to the bottom of the league, would stop our mini run. We again had numerous chances to either take the lead or get back into the game, but we never found the elusive goal. Lucas Akins(59) got the only goal to lift the home side to 23rd in the league.

npowerhead.jpg

MATCHDAY 25

AFC WIMBLEDON 3 - 2 BURTON

images

What I love about my team is the fact that if we lose a game, they make sure it doesn't happen in the next fixture and during games if go behind they never stop fighting to make sure they get back into it. Danny Kedwell(17,45) scored his 12th and 13th of the season in the league, with a Nathaniel Jarvis(38) goal sandwiched inbetween, to give us a well desereved lead after 45minutes. Luke Moore(60) added to ours and his tall to give us the comfort of a two goal lead. Lewis Young(79) made the last ten minutes all the more interesting, but were able to hold on to the win.

*** With the January transfer window open, Ive made offers to extend the loans of Chris Hussey and Tom Adeyemi till the end of the season.

Here is the current league table:

So much for going undefeated this season, but you are still doing great and good luck with getting promotion which would should get. And I don't think asking for 3 road wins in a row is too much.

I know very disappointed that I lost to the teams I have, but that happens in footy. Haha, I didn't think asking that was too much either, except we didn't deliver! Thanks for comments mate.

***** Just a little update as ive got a few minutes free, whilst moving house.

npowerhead.jpg

MATCHDAY 26

YEOVIL 1 - 1 AFC WIMBLEDON

images

We had alot of players struggling with fatique today, in this top of the table clash. So to come away with a point, even though victory was snatched at the death, is satisfying.
Craig Westcarr(36) gave us the lead, and for long periods of the game we hung on in there, but Josh McQuoid(91) scored with a fierce header, as both teams settled for the draw.

FA CUP 3rd ROUND

BRISTOL CITY 2 - 4 AFC WIMBLEDON

images

By far our best result since I took over at the club, and a winnable game in the next round at home to Yeovil. A Martyn Woolford(Own goal,15) set us on our way and Danny Kedwell(43) ensured our fans were buzzing at the break. Martyn Woolford(47) then scored at the right end, but we kept playing our attacking football, which lead to Christian Jolley(77) sliding home our third. Martyn Woolford(Sent off,79) evening took another turn for the worse when he found himself in the changing room for a second yellow card. John Akinde(92) pulled a goal back for the home side, but Tom Adeyemi(94) scored his first for us to put us through to the fourth round.

*** I am pleased to confirm to our fans, that Chris Hussey has extended his loan till the end of the season.

***** Next update will be tomorrow hopefully. Hope you are still enjoying. :)

npowerhead.jpg

MATCHDAY 27

AFC WIMBLEDON 1 - 0 SHREWSBURY

images

Another big win tonight against a team in the play off positions. Craig Westcarr(74) scoring the solidtary goal, as we created chance after chance but couldn't add to our tally.

images

*** BREAKING NEWS ***
Manset signs on 3 month loan.

images

'' Following Louis Moult returning to parent club Stoke due to injury, AFC Wimbledon Manager Andy Samuels has again raised eyebrows as he completed a loan for highly rated youngster Mathieu Manset. Manset has found it difficult to break into the Reading side of late, due to there promotion to the premiership, and it's thought he is relishing the chance to help AFC Wimbledon's promotion push.''

npowerhead.jpg

MATCHDAY 28

SOUTHEND 1 - 2 AFC WIMBLEDON

images

Craig Westcarr(2) got us off to a flyer at Roots Hall tonight, only for Kieran Treacy(12) to level the scores shortly after. It was looking like a draw was going to be the outcome, only for Brett Johnson(84) to head home from close range to claim a great away victory.

npowerhead.jpg

MATCHDAY 29

AFC WIMBLEDON 3 - 0 LINCOLN

images

Yet again a great team performance, and the spirit remains high throughout the squad. Brett Johnson(38) again headed us into the lead, and our goal machine Danny Kedwell(Pen 68,83) scored both our goals as we ran out comfortable winners.

npowerhead.jpg

MATCHDAY 30

CRAWLEY 2 - 2 AFC WIMBLEDON

images

A highly entertaining game today as again both sides, who were promoted last season came face to face at The Broadhall Stadium, and it was no surprise that it ended level. Sammy Moore(20) gave us the lead, Adam Boyd(30) levelled soon after. It was Boyd(58) who then gave Crawley the lead, then shortly after Moore Pen,64) made the scores even and thats how it stayed.

FA CUP 4th ROUND

AFC WIMBLEDON 1 - 0 YEOVIL

images

A chance for both League two sides to go a step further in the cup, and the hope of a big money tie in Round five. It was a poor game for long spells, and it took until Nikola Saric(93) to break the deadlock and send us through.
Man City Away await us in the next round!!!!!

*** Here is the latest league table.
