First Sacking of the Season

View attachment 311604

BT Sports Journalist: With Hull City sitting in 15th place after 16 matches manager Tony Pulis has been dismissed as the clubs manager. Hull City have been performing massively under-expectations this year despite the investment of £21m on new players. Sami Hyypia, Sam Allardyce and Simon Grayson are believed to be in the front running for the job as Assem Allam looks to hire a new manager.

Tony Pulis took the job at Hull on June 6th, 2015 and had been in charge for 18 months before his sacking this morning, Pulis achieved 13th and 8th placed finishes with the Tigers before his woeful campaign this season.

Following the 1-0 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park, Newcastle United have now lost their last three matches while failing to score in the past two. Despite carving out numerous opportunities, the Magpies were unable to convert any of their chances and went behind from a Roman Zozulya goal mid-way into the second half, Newcastle have once again paid the price for their failure to find the net and have now dropped out of the top 4 for the first time this season.

Everton-v-Newcastle-United-Premier-League.jpg

Sky Sports Reporters caught up with Paul Clement after the match to try and understand why the Magpies are struggling to find the net as of late.

P.Clement: "Obviously it's a strange one, we've gone from scoring multiple goals a game to failing to score in the past two. I think a lot of it comes down to our injuries..Bony is left up there on his own meaning we have no sort of versatility in an attacking sense, it's something I may look to fix in January."

Poor Newcastle Scrape Through

Newcastle United have scraped past Brentford to reach the Semi-Finals of the Capital One Cup following a goaless draw against Brentford that was decided by a penalty shoot-out.

Newcastle followed suit from where they left off in the past two games, 28 shots with 10 on target but once again they failed to find the net. Newcastle were lucky when Lukas Jutkiewicz had his penalty saved by Tim Krul following a late challenge from van Aken on Roberto Soldado.

After 120 minutes the teams remained level which meant the match would be decided by a penalty shoot-out.

We managed to convert all 5 of our penalty kicks while Odubajo had his penalty kick saved by Tim Krul meaning we took the victory 5-3, a poor performance from us but I'm glad we've managed to progress into the Semi-Finals.

Following the victory over Brentford, the Semi-Final draw for the Capital One Cup took place in which Newcastle United have been drawn against Liverpool. Elsewhere Manchetser United will face London based Chelsea in the other Semi-Final.

With only big clubs left in the competition it's going to be an enthralling contest which will be interesting to see who comes out on top. Each club will play a leg at home and away, with the club who have the best record on aggregate progressing to Wembley for the Final.

Overall I'm pleased with the draw, with all three teams bar us being top quality it was always going to be a tough semi-final, but we've beaten Liverpool at Anfield once this season, touch-wood we can do it again.

First Knock-Out Stage Draw

View attachment 311560View attachment 311561

Newcastle United have been drawn against Italian giants A.C. Milan for their match in the first knock-out stage of the Europe League.

This is by far one of the toughest draws out of the bunch and Newcastle will surely be disappointed to receive such a tough draw compared to group runners-up Toulouse who will play Granada.

Here's a look at the Europa League draw in its entirety.

Newcastle United and their players however, they seem excited!

"I'm excited for this game, it's going to be a big ask but hopefully we can grab a result, at the very least I want the lads to enjoy themselves..It's not everyday you get to play at the San Siro, it'll be a good experience."

This was a statement given to reporters by manager Paul Clement earlier today.

Hull City Hire Hyypia

BT Sport Journalist: Following the sacking of Tony Pulis, Hull City have announced that former Liverpool player Sami Hyypia will be the clubs new manager. Hyypia left his post at Fulham to join the Tigers in what is believed to be a money-based move. Fulham currently find themselves in 18th place, inside the drop zone, so a move to Hull City also gives Hyypia the chance to progress further into the Premier League with a better club in order to strengthen his own personal career.

Fulham will now be looking for a new manager.

Newcastle United began their Christmas period with an away match at Loftus Road.

QPR took the lead through Ja-Cheol after 20 minutes when he fired a 20 yard shot into the bottom right hand corner before Central Defensive pairing Virjil van Dijk and Chris Smalling both added to Newcastle's tally from corner routines.

QPR bagged a late equaliser through Hungarian forward Ádám Szalai from a right-sided corner, a devastating blow for Newcastle as they once again fail to bag the 3 points.

Newcastle then returned home to St. James' Park to take on a high flying Arsenal side in what was a very evenly matched contest which ended 0-0.

Not much happened throughout the game as both teams remained strong definitely and didn't allow each other to get any clear cut opportunities, Theo Walcott had the best chance of the game but could only head the ball straight into the hands of Dutch keeper Tim Krul.

A good result for Newcastle, but one that see's them slide down the table.

The final game of the 2017 calendar year saw Newcastle overcome a Stoke City side to bag their first win in 5 Premier League matches, a much needed win for the Toon as they now sit outside the top 4.

Despite allowing Stoke to have a lot of shots on goal, Tim Krul held strong to deny the Potters from finding the net while Florian Thauvin and Jamaal Lascelles bagged goals for the Toon.

A fine performance from the Magpies as they round off the calendar year in positive fashion!

Re-Visiting December 2017

534a9c4145343551ddaff39372de749d.png

Opposite to November, December was a month that started slow but gradually improved towards the end, we no longer sit in the top 4 but we're not far from it so a few wins will soon see us climb back into the top half.

We were unlucky against Chelsea, but I'm glad we've now started to find the net again following a frustrating period of time.

After 18 games we now find ourselves in 6th place but a victory from our game in hand can see us rise to 3rd. It's very tight at the top of the table so we need to find a bit of momentum to help us climb the table, and cement our top 4 ambitions.

Newcastle United today kicked off 2018 with an away victory against Burnley at Turf Moor. A brace from Wilfried Bony was enough to secure the points for the Magpies despite an equaliser from on-loan Arsenal striker Yayay Sanogo early into the second half.

Having finished 2017 a couple of points adrift from the top 4 the Toon will be delighted that they have started off the year with a well fought victory and will hope to build momentum on the result.

Despite the loss Burnley fought hard in this match and were unlucky not to come away with any points.

Tah Signs Pre-Contract Deal

bsc_hsv_tah_628.jpg

21 year old German defender Jonathan Tah has today signed a deal with Newcastle United that will see the 21 year old sign for the Magpies upon the expiration of his contract at German Club Hamburg SV.

The 6"4 defender has been in the eyes of many Premier League clubs in the past month but with Newcastle United making the first move the German U21 International now looks to have agreed a contract with the club, the wage packet offered to the player is believed to be around £30,000 a week.

The signing of Tah in the Summer shows that Paul Clement is continuing to look to the youth in an attempt to build Newcastle United into the next big force in European Football.

Tah has made 16 appearances for Hamburg this season, scoring one goal.

Janmaat in Italy Switch

28 year-old Dutch full-back Daryl Janmaat has today completed a £20,000,000 switch to Italian giants Juventus. The Dutchman has been in inspired form throughout his time at Newcastle but with the player keen on a move to Turin the Newcastle United manager was reluctant to block the move, stating that he felt it was in the clubs best interests if the player completed the move.

Newcastle United fans are said to be disappointed with the move, especially with Janmaat's inspired performances and club hero status, but they do however acknowledge that the payer wanted to leave and that a £20m price-tag was good business from the Magpies.

It is believed that Jamaal Lascelles will now take the Captain's arm-band with the position up for grabs, Janmaat had held the arm-band for 18 months since Colocinni's retirement back in 2016.

29 year old Ivorian Striker Wilfried Bony has today completed his switch to German side Borussia Dortmund for £15,000,000, this comes as a sudden announcement to the Newcastle fans with the believed motive behind the move reportedly being due to the age of the Striker.

Paul Clement has stated in the past that he yearns for a young, attacking squad and it is believed that with Bony being almost 30 years old the Ivorian is now no longer considered a viable attacking option.

Bony scored 46 goals in 104 appearances since his £15m move from Swansea back in 2015.

Bony did well for you, shame for him to go but selling him for what you paid isn't bad!

Going to replace him?

Newcastle United rallied from 2-1 down to defeat a Chelsea side in the 3rd round of the FA Cup.

Hirving Lozano gave the home side the lead after 34 minutes before Diego Costa replied for the Blues within 120 seconds later, former Manchester City defender Stefan Savic then made it 2-1 to the London club but a fantastic performance from Hirving Lozano saw the Mexican winger net two more goals to claim the match ball, Chris Smalling also got on the score sheet.

Newcastle will now progress to the 4th round of the FA Cup, with Chelsea being disappointed at their shortcomings in the competition.

Hirving Lozano has now scored 7 goals for Newcastle but the Mexican International will certainly savour this moment for sometime, his first hat-trick in English Football.

He's been fantastic! Shame to see him go but I figured I'd cash in on him while I could. I've been playing for the past few hours and have already replaced him but you'll have to wait for the update, haha!

Awesome Story. Highlight for me whenever im at work! Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the feedback, friend!

Glad to know you're enjoying it so far, I'm always switching up the layout and narration of the story to keep it interesting. (Started off more first person but is now more of a newspaper/website approach)

Hopefully I can keep it going! :)

Two More Signings for Newcastle

Newcastle United have today confirmed two more signings, one of whom will join the club immediately and another who has agreed a pre-contract deal to join upon their contract expiry in July.

nathaniel-chalobah-england-4340-1066384_478x359.jpg

74a0103cbbce62eafd5972bde2ec6a61.png

England U21 international Nathaniel Chalobah has completed a move from Chelsea to Newcastle United for a fee believed to be in the region of £1.2m, the midfielder has struggled to get minutes on the pitch at Stamford Bridge and is said to be delighted at the opportunity to play alongside some of his best friends at Newcastle United such as Adam Quinn, Dele Alli and Jamaal Lascelles.

The move fits the philosophy that Paul Clement looks to be building at St. James' Park as he looks to build a squad with some of the best young talent in the country and it looks as though Chalobah is the latest to enter the frame at Newcastle United.

Chalobah may not be the best player at the Club, but he has the potential to make it far in the English scene and I fully believe that he'll do well at the club, and with players such as Tioté and Fellaini beginning to hit their 30s I don't see why Nathaniel can't hold down a spot in the long-term.

Andrija_Zivkovic1.jpg

Former Partizan winger Andrija Živković has today signed a pre-contract deal with Newcastle United that will see the 21 year old join the English club upon the expiry of his contract in July 2019.

Zivkovic signed for French side Paris Saint Germain for £1.5m in 2015 but has found it difficult to break into the first-team and with the French side reluctant to offer the Serbian a new deal he has nstead taken the decision to move to another club in the form of Newcastle United.

Fans are said to be excited at the prospect of seeing the winger in a Newcastle jersey as the Serb was such a highly sought after talent in the past couple of years, only to have been snapped up by the Magpies.

I'm excited by the prospect that is Andrija Zivkovic, he's a great talent and with Ben Arfa being over 30 years old now I can definitely see the Serbian playing a big role for the club, it's going to be an exciting time in the next few seasons!

FA Cup 3rd Round Draw

Newcastle United will play Manchester City in the 4th round of the FA Cup at St. James' Park and having just won against Chelsea in the previous round things don't look to be getting any easier for the North-Eastern Club.

Newcastle United have had terrible luck in the draws so far and have already played Chelsea in the FA Cup with games against Liverpool to come in the League Cup, a tough run of games for the Magpies!

Magpies Find Janmaat Replacement

clarets-launch-trippier-card-appeal-Image.ashx

2100be27f9ad57de2b28f4a650d8f257.png

Former Manchester City and Burnley full-back Kieran Trippier has agreed a deal to sign for Newcastle United after both Tottenham and Newcastle agreed a sum of £11m.

The 27 year old has been on the radar of many clubs throughout the Winter window but Paul Clement was the first to launch a bid following the £20m sale of Daryl Janmaat to Juventus and while the sum may seem a little high to some people, Clement has expressed his delight at the signing of the attacking full-back.

Trippier signed for Tottenham from Burnley for £5.75m back in 2016 and the London club will be delighted with the quick money-spin as they land an easy £5,000,000 profit.

A risky transfer but one that I'm keen to see work out for the best, Kieran is a great lad and a brilliant full-back, I have no doubts that he'll fit our attacking style of Football due to the nature of his brilliant on the ball stats, but he can also do a sound job defensively and hopefully help bolster our defensive efforts as well.
