Les Dogues in Takeover Bid

French side LOSC Lille have been approached by a rich businessman as he looks to restore Les Dogues to their past glory, according to Sky Sources the current Chairman is looking to step aside and with the club currently sitting in 7th place an investment may bring a change of fortune as they look to crack on and fill the trophy cabinet.

Interesting takeover in the works here, if Lille get a big investment it may be worth taking a job there..My favourite French side and a good challenge, but it all depends on how I do here at Newcastle first.

It's been 7 years since Lille last lifted the Ligue 1 title, but things could soon change for Les Dogues.

For the second time in 2 weeks Newcastle United have secured a victory against Manchester City, this time in the Barclays Premier League. Spanish winger Pablo Sarabia scored the only goal of the game as the Magpies secured another 3 points in their bid to secure a top 4 finish.

Sarabia, 25 opened the scoring after 15 minutes as he managed to get his 25 yard free-kick up and over the wall before the ball dipped into the top right hand corner just out of Joe Hart's reach.

Things went from bad to worse for the Citizens as Yaya Toure was dismissed for a two footed challenge on Hirving Lozano after 25 minutes, but despite this man advantage Newcastle failed to secure a 2 goal cushion.

Luckily for the Toon, Manchester City failed to make good of their possession as they didn't manage to get a single shot on goal throughout the 90 minutes, a pleasing statistic from Newcastle's point of view.

Another loss for Manchester City as their bid to catch Manchester United seems to have escaped their grasp, the Citizens now sit 18 points behind the Red Devils.

Newcastle United today fell to another home defeat as they lost to Liverpool 2-1 at St. James' Park.

Former Real Madrid man Asier Illarramendi opened the scoring after 47 seconds following the kick-off, Liverpool provided some quick passing play before a cross arrived at the feet of the Spaniard who tapped the ball home from close range, a nightmare start for the Toon as they found themselves a goal down without even having a touch of the ball.

Manchester United loanee Chris Smalling pulled Newcastle back level after 22 minutes when he rose above the Liverpool defence to glance home Rémy Cabella's corner, a bullet header from the English International!

However Newcastle were unable to build on their equaliser as troublesome Striker Mario Balotelli cut inside from the left-wing before curling the ball into the bottom right hand corner away from Tim Krul's reach, a lovely goal from the Italian!

The second half provided no real chances as Liverpool defended on their 1-goal advantage before taking the 3 points come 90 minutes. A disastrous loss for Newcastle United in their bid for a top 4 finish.

Balotelli's 13th goal in 14 games sealed the win for the Reds as they move to 3rd in the table.

Tottenham Hotspur today fought from a goal down to earn a 2-2 draw at home against Newcastle United in the Barclays Premier League.

Harry Kane opened the scoring for the London Club as he dribbled into the box before poking the ball past Tim Krul into the back of the net, a fine goal from the Englishman as his season tally rises to 17 from 21 games.

Brazilian striker Carlos found the equaliser for Newcastle after 26 minutes, a lovely piece of skill from the 22 year old as he picked up the ball from 30 yards out before dribbling his way past 3 Tottenham defenders and curling the ball into the top left-hand corner. His 3rd goal in a Newcastle shirt.

Newcastle took the 2-1 advantage in the 49th minute when Rémy Cabella converted from 12 yards out, the penalty resulted from a poor challenge on Hirving Lozano as the Mexican tried to turn inside the box only to be caught by Kaboul's trailing leg.

Belgian midfielder Moussa Dembele found the equaliser for Tottenham 15 minutes from time when he prodded home Christian Eriksen's corner, a poor piece of marking from the Magpies as they fail to win for the 2nd game in a row, things are not looking good for their top 4 push.

Harry Kane's fantastic season continues as the 24 year old has a personal best of 17 goals this season, 11 more than last seasons total.

Paco Alcácer has today returned to full training following his lengthy injury that has kept the Spanish forward out since mid-November. This comes as a delightful piece of news to everyone associated with Newcastle United as manager Paul Clement now has an injury-free squad to select his starting XI from.

Alcácer will be hoping to find his feet in the Premier League following his summer move from Valencia, especially with competition from Bonetto and Carlos.

Baggies Part Ways With Holloway

View attachment 309667

Ian Holloway has today been dismissed as the manager of West Bromwich Albion, it is believed that the reason for his departure is solely based on the clubs performance so far this season. The Baggies currently find themselves inside the relegation zone in 18th place, 4 points from safety.

The Baggies have now failed to win in their previous 6 matches, 5 in the league and one in the FA Cup with only a single point from a possible 15.

The form that sealed Holloway's fate

A tough run of fixtures for the former manager as he only managed a single point at home to Tottenham Hotspur, the 2-0 loss to QPR was the final straw.

Who Will Take the Job Next?

According to BT Sources it is believed that former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is the odds on favourite to take the position at the Hawthorns, with Ronald Koeman and Dave Jones coming in to round off the top 3.

Lampard who ended his illustrious playing career in the MLS is a shock name to take over at West Bromwich Albion in what could be a very interesting move by the club.

Wasteful Toon Exit in 5th Round

Newcastle United were knocked out of the FA Cup as they were beaten 2-0 by Tottenham Hotspur at St. James' Park on Saturday.

With a tough trip to Milan on Thursday night manager Paul Clement decided to play a fresh, rotated, young squad with the idea being to rest his more powerful players, sadly this plan backfired for the Englishman as his youngsters were unable to find the net despite having 14 shots throughout the 90 minutes.

Younes Kaboul and Kevin Kampl scored 2nd half goals to send Spurs into the 6th round, a disappointing sight for Newcastle as they could only strike the woodwork twice through Rolando Aarons and Adam Quinn, but with one cup Final to play already it may come as a relief due to the reliving of fixtures over the next month or two.

Newcastle United will now suit up for their trip to Italy as they look to end a three match run without a win.

Younes Kaboul's goal proved to seal the deal for the London Club, as well as his impressive defensive showing.

Frank Lampard was today unveiled as the new manager at West Bromwich Albion, the former Chelsea midfielder had been the favourite in the media race since the sacking of Ian Holloway but very few expected the rumour to come to fruition but West Brom fans will no doubt be delighted to have an English Footballing Legend take charge at the Midlands club.

Lampard, 39 retired from professional last year after spending 3 seasons with MLS club New York City, but the former England midfielder will now be looking to replicate his impressive playing career from the technical area as he ventures into the world of Football management.

We asked earlier in a BT Sports Poll whether you the public thought Frank Lampard would be the right man to save the Baggies, with 63% of you voting 'Yes' to 37% 'No' votes, one thing's for sure though, the job won't be easy for the Englishman.

Will Lampard be the next best up and coming Manager?

Cup was a little bit annoying as we'd beaten Chelsea and City but there's still the League Cup Final so fingers crossed! Yeah Lampard's hiring surprised me too, but it's great to see! I blame the large amount of fixtures for the results. :P

Don't seem to be getting too much feedback on the save.

25,000+ views is nice but if it's just me posting then there's no benefit to it, may stop the thread as I originally did this to find the save more enjoyable but having to constantly post on here after every event to a very small audience doesn't seem to be beneficial and is slowing the game-time down.

Add me on Skype if you'd like to talk FM sometime: Werrett_95

Apologies to those who enjoyed reading the updates.

What he said ^ there's a lot of people who read it but don't post. It's been a great story keep it up !

Absolutely love this save, it gave me inspiration (however FM Base continues to prevent me from posting my own story) and there's so much character to it now! Bonetto and Carlos look incredible, the team you've built is absolutely fantastic and your layout is so polished and entertaining.

At the very least, if you really won't continue this save, please upload it, I would be thrilled at the opportunity to manage this team.

Same here, been reading it! Doing well mate, I know how it is to do a story with little feedback :(

Will comment more if you carry on

I feel exactly what you're saying here mate! When writing a story, it's hard to carry on when you go a few pages with little or no replies, it does make it feel like you're writing to no one sometimes! Even if you are a silent reader, drop him a comment now and again! I will be honest I've never really noticed this story before but I've just read it all and it is a great read! Don't give up, and if you want, take a break!
