Best passer of the ball ever ?

I'm sorry but if you can't plant the ball on your teammate's foot from atleast 50 meters, you don't deserve to be considered for "best passer" title in my book
And I haven't seen Xavi do that

That's a pretty stupid thing to say, because Spain and Barcelona play a short, quick passing game. He is known as a wonderful passer because of his unique ability to pick out a killer pass time and time again. I'm sure he is more than capable of a long range pass, but he rarely needs to use it.

I don't think he's the best passer of all time though

Scholes is a great passer of the ball, possibly the greatest british passer ever, or at least modern day.

I think you're insane, Paul Scholes is one of the best passers ever in the history of football. And that's coming from an Arsenal fan. Scholes has outstanding technique, be it short or long passing. His range and vision is second to none.

Lol at this. Scholes is the best passer of the ball in modern day football, he can play short quick intuitve passes or ping a ball 50 yards straight to his target

When Xavi doesn't play, Barcelona doesn't play. Barca can play and win without Iniesta and Messi, but without Xavi, no.

Although I disagree with you that Scholes shouldn't be in the list (he's one of the all-time great passers), I don't think he deserves three times as many votes as Zidane, and Beckham getting as many votes as Zidane is an absolute joke. It's an English forum and very, very anglocentric at times and it's nice when someone is willing to point it out. For me, Guti, Zidane, Bochini, Xavi, Rui Costa, and Xabi Alonso are the best passers, although Scholes and Maradona are right up there with those guys. As far as "metronomes" go (tempo-setters), it's Veron and Pirlo. Beckham was a great crosser but I don't think he deserves to be in the list. And Figo definitely should be in the list.

have any of you ever watched the video's with Michael Laudrup...he is in my opinion the greates playmaker asn passer ever, he can pass the ball short long and even though balls so even the greatest defender will just miss it..and the attacker will get it.
