(Away) Arsenal 2-2: A good result coming back from 1-0 but should have won it as let in a 90th minute equalizer from Arshavin. Lukaku ended his goal drought. Goals from Verkhovtsev and Lukaku.

(Home) Burnley 1-1: A disappointing draw a game we should be winning. 4 games know without defeat. Vagner Love picked up an injury. Goal from Kadlec.

(Home) Liverpool 1-2 (FA Cup 5th Rnd): An end to another cup run. It was Adu 1st game back since his injury. Lukaku made it 2-1 on the 54th minute. After then Birmingham pushed and pushed but Liverpool hung on. Romero went up for a free kick at the end of the game he managed to hit the post from a header, if only what a story that would make. Goal from Lukaku.

(Away) Newcastle 1-1: Yet another draw. Witsel and Jenas both picked up slight knocks. I dont know how we didnt win this one but the strikers just cant score lately. Goal from Adu.

(Away) Stoke 2-1: Finally a win, 1st time for 6 games now. Lucky to win as strikers still cant seem to score enough with chance after chance being created. Goals from Vagner Love and Ninis.

Review

Hanging on in 1st but Chelsea and Arsenal will surely overtake with their games in hand. The race for the Champions League is heating up although still in title race top 4 is the main priority. The goals are thinning as the strikers are lacking form. Casey was offered the Ivory Coast job but turned it down as it would be too much as season heats up.

(Away) Liverpool 0-5: Went in 2-0 at half time. 2nd half it got worse as Toloi was given a second yellow on the 65th minute. Liverpool went on to score 3 more after that. The pick of the goals was a chip from Gerrard.

Review

Lukaku will miss a month due to injury. The team are really lack form since the defeat by Everton and really look to be lacking self belief. The team are hanging on to 4th but have got 4 tough games. Most likely a Europa League spot but you never know. End of season update soon

Aims, Hopes and New Signing season 2012-2013

Verkhovtsev won Fan's Player of the Year for the second time, the defender has been a rock since joining in 2009. Verkhovtsev also made it into the European Championship dream team as Belarus shocked all by making it to the semi final. After the competition Casey was offered the France and Ireland job but turned them down to concentrate on Birmingham. Casey soon after signed a new contract keeping him at St.Andrews till june 2014 at £33,500 a week.

Casey was then given £30.5m and a wage bill of £925k p/w, for this Birmingham are expected to qualify for at least the Europa League by finishing in the top 6. Birmingham are also expected to reach the group stage of the Champions League, the 6th round of the FA Cup and the Quarter Final of the League Cup.

In transfer news Kenneth left for Sunderland for £1.4m. Gunnarsson join Bari on loan for the season for a fee of £1.9m. Sebastian Larsson said a sad farewell to Birmingham leaving for Serie A side Lazio for £4.3m.

Birmingham were drawn against Sevilla in the Champions League best placed playoff. Sevilla finished 4th in La Liga last season and has a strong squad with players like Hazard, Navas, Cabanas and Luis Fabiano. Birmingham will be missing Lukaku, Witsel and Adu who will all be representing their countries in the Olympics. In other news Montgomery has joined Rangers on loan to gain experience

(Home) Sevilla 3-2 (Champions League Qualifier): Lukaku scored the 1st and the last goal of the game and had a major impact. A misplaced pass from Jagielka to Romero lead to a mix up allowing Alfaro to put Sevilla ahead but soon after Emanuelson made it 2-2. Goals from Lukaku (2) and Emanuelson.

(Home) Arsenal 3-1: Birmingham lead 3-0 but a late goal from Ramsey in injury time restored some pride for the Gunners. Arsenal dominated the goal and will wonder how they lost. Birmingham were just to clinical finishing every chance they had, while Arsenal couldnt get past Romero. Goals from Fabio, Vagner Love (2).

(Away) Sevilla 2-3(5-3pens) (Champions League Qualifier):What a game, Sevilla took the lead 3 times but Birmingham hit back twice. Fazio was sent off in extra time on the 105th minute but Birmingham failed to take advantage of the extra man and the game went to penalties. Birmingham scored every penalty. Romaric was the man who missed for Sevilla after Michel Bastos stepped up. The pressure was on his shoulders as he could become a huge hero to the Birmingham faithful, Bastos blasted the ball past Villar into the back of the net sending the Birmingham players, staff and fans berserk. Goals from Fabio and Vagner Love.
