Manager Marcelino has made his first move in the summer transfer market by signing 29 year old Irish goalkeeper Andy Conroy from freshly relegated Stoke City. Conroy commanded a £10m fee and was well received by Chelsea fans. He made 34 appearances for Stoke and managed 7 clean sheets. Andy arrives as a much needed back up for veteran Thibaut Courtois and has spoken of his determination to fight for a starting place.

Harry Redknapp has made his first signing this summer in Jamaican central midfielder Damion Giddens. Damion joins Leeds from Queens Park Rangers in a massive deal worth £21.5m. It is a heavy price tag for a player at the age of 29 but Giddens commanded £29m four years ago when Rangers bought him off Oxford. He has played 164 games for Q.P.R., scoring 11 goals and making 37 assists. Giddens is the second recent signing from Queens Park Rangers following another expensive purchase - winger Hamaye Fanta.

Neil Lennon raided relegated Stoke City to make the first summer signing - France international left-back Victor Ndayishimiye (26). Victor is a real bargain at just £9.25m considering the commanding full-back has represented his country 25 times.

Victor won't need time to settle in the pace of the Premier League as he has played 84 games in his three seasons with Stoke.

Liverpool splash the cash big time over three signings

The Liverpool board certainly mean business this summer. Returning to Europa League requires depth and depth is what we are after with three brand new players. Former England Under-21 international explosive left full back Viv Bevan (23) joins from Nottingham Forest for £16.75m.
World class centre-back Juan Gabriel Travieso arrives from Real Madrid in a £36.5m deal. Travieso is 25 years old and will certainly play big role in the heart of our defense. Such players are hard to come by so credit must go to the board for opening the wallet on this one.

Another ambitious signing is Holger Schmidt, commanding centre-back who arrives from FC Bayern for £19.25m. Just like Travieso, Holger is 25 and will look to form a monstrous partnership with the Spaniard.

It looks like another summer of heavy spending is ahead with £72.5m already spent and negotiations ongoing for further signings. Stay tuned!

Manager Marcelino moved quickly to secure a second signing in the transfer window - 24 year old Montenegrin central midfielder Slobodan Magazin. Slobodan joins from Inter in a £15.75m deal and the tireless midfielder was met with excitement amongst the fans. Chelsea have got a truly potent player at their hands - Magazin has scored 76 goals and assisted for 106 more during his time at Inter.

Devils buy Rovers striker

Our first incoming transfer for the summer is a fact. It isn't the bombastic deal we would hope for looking at the other contenders throwing money left, right and everywhere but could prove a wise purchase. Blackburn Rovers experienced striker Amos Obi joins the team for a compact £4.6m fee.
Obi is 32 years old and carries vast experience. During his three seasons with Rovers he played 108 games in which he managed 43 goals and 21 assists. The deal is a real bargain considering Blackburn paid £22.5m for his services just three years ago. In the meantime voices of discontent are rising amongst Manchester United fans with the most skeptical suspecting the board are refusing to sanction transfer funds and simply used the fee received for Pusztai to fund a relatively cheap transfer for a player with tremendous ability but little future.

Harry Redknapp has made his second signing this summer in Korean striker Ahn Jung-Ho. Jung-Ho (27) joins Leeds from Arsenal in a deal worth £13.25m. The Korean international boasts wide experience representing his country 147 times and scoring 109 goals in the process. He has spent seven seasons with the Gunners, scoring 103 goals in 274 games (60 of those coming from the bench).

Liverpool go Dutch again

Transfers at Anfield look set to continue as Liverpool confirmed the fourth signing since the window opened. Dutch striker Michel van Wonderen (22) has put pen to paper in £22m deal from Vitesse. Michel has scored 33 goals over 120 appearances at Gelredome where he started his career six years ago.

It will be interesting to see if transfer activities continue considering the club has now spent £94.5m - all in the opening 10 days of the window!

Manager Marcelino moved quickly to secure a third signing in the transfer window - 28 year old Bosnian central defender Denis Karadza. Denis joins from Everton in a £22m deal and the strong centre-back was greeted in a positive fashion by the fans. Karadza was a fan favourite at Everton developing a legendary status over his nine year spell at the Merseyside club.

Old Trafford in shock as another wonderkid is sold

Gary Neville

Fans are understandably worried as the transfer window firmly turns into a nightmare for Manchester United. Instead of buying quality we once again confirm the recent label of selling club by allowing winger Dylan Connery to sign for Queens Park Rangers in a £24.5m deal.

Dylan Connery

Dylan broke in the first team last season to play 38 games in which he scored 8 goals and assisted for 6 more. It is maddening to lose such an accomplished player at the age of 19 with his prime years far ahead in the future. The board really owes big to the fans and to Sir Alex Ferguson now and must act carefully with ripples of discontent threatening to turn into boycott of the home games.

Liverpool strike Paraguayan midfield treasure

Transfers at Anfield look set to continue as Liverpool confirmed the fifth signing since the window opened. Paraguayan defensive midfielder Gustavo Sosa (28) has put pen to paper in £15.5m deal from Stoke. Relegation made this transfer possible as Sosa had a £44.5m release clause in his contract but facing a significantly lower budget in the Championship Stoke were forced to do business for three times less.

It will be interesting to see if transfer activities continue considering the club has now spent £110m - all in the first two weeks of the window!

Eze managed 54 games for Blackburn in two seasons since arriving for £21m from Queens Park Rangers but started just six games last season and felt the time was right to further his career.

Harry Redknapp has decided to allow Colombian right midfielder Angelo Grueso (29) to leave the club in order to open some space for new arrivals. Angelo has joined Arsenal in a deal worth £11.75m. It is without a doubt the perfect moment to get rid with Grueso's years advancing and his price likely to drop next season. Grueso has served Leeds well over the past three seasons after joining from Blackburn for £21m. He made 105 appearances, scored 5 goals and assisted for 15 more.
