Maradona: I told you

83563231.jpg

Today, Boca boss Diego Maradona rubbed salt into Rivers rooms, laughing at Rivers heavy loss to Velez.
He pointed out that this would be the first of Rivers many losses, and it was great to see his rivals crash and burn

River Plate 4-3 Argentinos
Jo (37), Erik Lamela (82), Pablo Aimar (90), Marco Ruben (90+2)

Neculman (17, 58), Andres Romero (33)

wpid-River-Plate-vs-Argentinos-Juniors1.jpg

What had Mr Drezzy got himself into? River were shocking yet again! Neculman scored with Argentinos's first shot. Romero then tapped in from close range to give the visitors a two goal lead. But Jo, new River signing, gave the home side some hope, as he hit a brutal shot which ended up in the net.
River were behind at half time, and looking bad. Neculman scored again, heading home at the near post. River were 3-1 down, and hadn't had a shot on goal for a while. But then Mr Drezzy, on 80 minutes made some changes, whilst shouting at his team. Substitute Lamela tried his luck from 30 yards, and it sneaked under their keeper. And right at the death, Pablo Aimar shot from 35 yards out, beating the keeper hands down. River had pulled back from two down and had earned themselves a draw, but there was one more twist, returning hero, Marco Ruben, headed home two minutes into stoppage time, to give River a win, which they didn't deserve

marco_ruben.marca.jpg

River were extremely lucky here tonight, if it wasn't for the last 10 minutes of that game, River would have been mauled and badly beaten. They had alot of work to do

One of the craziest stories I've read, and I mean it in a good way :)

Maradona: I've reported him to the F.A

diego-maradona.jpg

Diego Maradona has confirmed that he had complained to the Argentine F.A about River Plates signings of his Boca players. In a statement, he said that he was happy that the traitors had left, and that Boca wasn't in their blood, but he was disgusted with the way Mr Drezzy went about the transfers, claiming his players had been tapped up!

Mr Drezzy: Your dealings aren't that clean....

river-plate-new-jersey4.jpg

Mr Drezzy has hit our against Diego Maradona, claiming that if a complaint was made about his transfer dealings, Mr Drezzy would complain about the money Diego allegedly pocketed during these transfers. Mr Drezzy also said he would blow the lid on Maradona stealing from the club he "loved". But Mr Drezzy did agree with one thing, that Boca was in his blood, along with other substances

Argentine F.A: All complaints dropped

28992-argentina.jpg

The Argentinian F.A today confirmed that Diego Maradona had lodged a complaint against Mr Drezzy, but it was withdrawn two hours later by the Boca management team, saying they'd bring the matter up again if something like this happens again

Racing Club 1 - 1 River Plate

Hauche (7)
Jo (29)

wpid-Racing-Club-vs-River-Plate.jpg

A very drab game, with both teams tiring very early on, and happy to knock the ball long to each other, it was like a ping pong match. but before their energy evaporated, Racing clubs Hauche scored from out side of the area. It was Racing who created most chances, hitting the bar in the process. But a tiresome River managed to pull one back on 29 minutes, with Jo heading home again.
River were lucky today

610x.jpg

Mr Drezzy was unhappy with the team to today, they looked tired for most of the match, and looked like a bunch of old men walking around the pitch

Mr Drezzy: Shocking Pre-Season

River-Plate-Pin-Badge.gif

Mr Drezzy has come out, after Rivers draw with sporting club, saying that the lack of pre season for River has cost them in the opening stage of the Premier League.
He also said the players that joined from Boca were unfit, blaming Diego Maradona.
River have lost to Velez heavily, sneaked a win in their second game and were lucky to get a draw against Racing

Diego set to meet the Queen

wave.jpg

Diego Maradona has announced that he is set to meet the Queen of England during the mid season break in Argentina. He said he will travel to England to have an audience at Cambridge university and then he will Travel to London to meet F.A members followed by the Queen.
He said it was a great honour, and took a pot shot at Mr Drezzy, saying that he was more famous and has higher demand then Mr Drezzy, even in his homeland.

River Plate 1-2 Lanus

Defederico (pen 51)

Paolo Goltz (pen 2, pen 66)

393615739_1dfee1ae5b.jpg

Another poor performance from River Plate, and they show no signs of improving. In fact, Rivers next game is against Lanus, in the Copa Sudamericana.
The game started of with Caruzzo hacking down Pizaro in the box. From the resulting penalty, Paolo Goltz put the ball in the back of the net, after just two minutes. It was Lanus who pressed on and should have gone into the break winning by more.
In the second half, River were awarded a penalty after Jo was pushed in the area, which Defrederico nestled in the bottom left.
River started to look a little better but Lanus were awarded yet another penalty, this time for a phantom hand ball by Galeano, which Goltz blasted down the centre, over Romero and into the net.
Galeano and Jo both had headers cleared off the line at the death, but it was Lanus who went on to win. River losing again.

Mr Drezzy has his work cut out here, picking up only 4 points in the last 4 games. Something drastic needs to change

Copa Sudamericana 2nd Pre.Round 1st Leg

Lanus 0-2 River Plate

Barrios (15), Galeano (50)

wpid-Lan-s-vs-River-Plate.jpg

River Plate played today like Mr Drezzy would have wanted. They were good on the ball, and didn't look tired at all. Lucas Barrios netted the first on 15 minutes, converting a Piatti Cross. Piatti himself almost added to the score, but he hit the bar from 40 yards out.
River looked sturdy and came into the second half with their tails high, Galeano scoring a fantastic header on 50 minutes. Lanus didn't have an answer.

river_lanus.jpg

Mr Drezzy was very happy with todays result, and now had to convert this form into the league

River Plate 2-1 San Lorenzo

Defederico (3), Jo (82)

Rovira (38), Torres sent off (14)

wpid-River-Plate-vs-San-Lorenzo.jpg

River were starting to look good. They totally out played San Lorenzo today and should have had alot more. It was Defedrico who scored in the third minute, a lovely shot from 21 yards out, beating the out stretching keeper. As River Plate pushed on, Torres was sent off for taking down the last man. But it was the ten men of San Lorenzo who scored next, a lucky deflected goal on 38 minutes from Rovira.
After the break, River kept on attacking, and kept on missing or having their shots stopped, how ever, on 82 minutes, Jo volleyed from 12 yards out, over the keeper and into the net. River Plate had secured another win, and were looking good

n_san_lorenzo_fecha_6_river_plate_vs_san_lorenzo-466.jpg

Mr Drezzy said that River were starting to play like his old Boca side, with elegance and style.

Newell's 1-3 River Plate

Arano own goal (89)

Santa Cruz (3), Lamela (27), Barrios (39)

Newells%20vs%20River.jpg

Another fantastic performance from River today, especially in the first half. They gave Newell's no chance. Santa Cruz scored with a thunderous header in the third minute, which sent River on their way.
River kept pressing but it wasn't until 24 minutes later that River Scored again, Lamela putting it in from a free kick. On 39 minutes, Lucas Barrios got in on the act, scoring a neat tap in.
After the break, River slowed the game down and didn't look as threatening whilst keeping Newell's pinned back.
It wasn't until a late Newell's corner when they managed to get on the score sheet, but it was a River player who scored, Arano deflecting the ball past his keeper. River win 3-1

n_river_plate_fecha_13_river_plate_vs_newell_s_old_boys-1322180.jpg

Mr Drezzy was delighted, again, River kept their performance up and were starting to do what he instructed them to do. Still, there was a long way to go

What's Spanish for "Only Four Points"

79738675.jpg

Mr Drezzy, in a recent interview, asked what the Spanish was for only four points, and when asked why, Mr Drezzy said that it was now his time to laugh at "Burger King" Diego Maradona.
He Said Boca were already starting to feel the pressure, Ad River were getting better and better, and there was only four points between the teams

Copa Sudamericana 2nd Pre. round, Leg 2

River Plate (2)2-2(0) Lanus

Barrios (39, 58)

Biglieri (12), Romero (71)

River-Plate.jpg

River took a 2-0 lead into this game, and they didn't start of wellWith Lanus punishing some poor defending, Biglieri slotting into an empty net. Lanus came close to equalising, but they hit the bar and River broke. Piatti crossed to Barrios, who chested the ball, let it bounce and then smashing it into the bottom of the net. River were 3-1 up on aggregate.
Lanus still pushed in the second half, but River controlled the game well, with Barrios getting his second on 58 minutes, scoring from a rebound after missing a penalty, putting the game out of reach.
Lanus did manage to score again , with Romero heading home. But it was too little too late, River were through

89936246.jpg

Mr Drezzy last won this competition with Boca, and he has made it clear that he wants to win it with River Plate

Great stuff, KIU

Man Diego really is pulling out all the stops here, the Queen? XD

Go destroy Boca, he deserves it (6)

Always nice to see Paraguayans lighting up the Argentina Primera

Erm, It was easier to play as Boca and slightly easier to bring bigger named players to the club.
River is abit more of a challenge but i'm enjoying it.

Yeah, i've been watching Argentine football for the past few months on Premier Sports, it's really good, and i route for Boca in real life :D

Maradona: You wont catch us

Diego_Maradona.jpg

In his recent Newspaper column, Diego Maradona has insisted his side will not be caught. He said Mr Drezzy had no experience of chasing the lead, and he didn't have the Boca team spirit to mount such a challenge.
He went on to add that Mr Drezzy will be asking what is the Spanish for 14 Points, because River will fall away like they always do
