River Plate 3-1 Quilmes

Santa Cruz (24), Perez (28), Barrios (46)

Narvary (33)

river-plate-stadium.jpg

River continued their fine form with a win over Quilmes today, with Santa Cruz opening the scoring with a fine header on the 24th minute. River continued to press and on 28 minutes Enzo Perez tapped in a rebound after Piatti hit the wood work.
But Quilmes hit River on the break, highlighting their defensive weakness, with Narvary capitalising on a poor Galeano clearence, walking the ball into the net.
How ever, after the break, Lucas Barrios came on as a sub, and netted on 46 minutes. River continued to press but couldn't find another goal. River win again tonight

Mr Drezzy declared he was proud of his River Team and he said that they were getting alot better, and looking confident

Godoy Cruz 1 - 3 River Plate

Vazquez (19)
Ruben (18), Defederico (54), Rojas (60)

wpid-Godoy-Cruz-de-Mendoza-vs-River-Plate.jpg

River were a total different team, on a different level. Marco Ruben opened the scoring on the 18th minute, with a fantastic individual effort, but Godoy hit straight back, Vazquez hitting the ball from 35 yards out, beating a stunned Romero.
But that was Godoys last shot on target. River continued to press, but couldn't find for the rest of the half.
Things were the same in the second half, River hitting the bar on numerous occasions. But Defederico broke Godoys will with a fantasti curling free kick. It was all River and they completed the scoring on the 60th minute mark, With Rojas heading home. River win

o_river_plate_fecha_18_godoy_cruz_antonio_tomba_vs_river_plate-277908.jpg

River were flawless today, but Mr Drezzy was concerned that they only scored 3, after having a mamoth 27 shots.

Barrios (37)

cd41b4788fe60af9da6522e364f7_grande.jpg

River were touted to win this game, heavily, but their inability to finish and some shocking defender cost them the win.
Lucas Barrios scored Rivers only goal, a neat 20 yard, placed shot, a priceless away goal. how ever, Santa Fe equalised deep into the first half, Ramirez nodding home.
River continued to press but Santa Cruz and Jo just couldn't get a shot in. The game ended in a draw but River have the away goal.

i.aspx

River have to be unhappy with this result, how ever, they were lucky not to let a few in themselves, with Romero keeping them in the match. It's all left to play for in the second leg

River Plate 1-0 Gimnasia (LP)

Defederico (45)

wpid-River-Plate-vs-Gimnasia-La-Plata.jpg

Again, River were finding it difficult to put away their chances, this time winning by the narrowest of margins. A Defederico free kick putting the hosts 1-0 up on the stroke of half time.
River created many chances but were unable to score any more, whilst Gimnasia were also guilty of not taking their chances. River win, just.

River-vs-Gimnasia.jpg

Mr Drezzy was understandably happy with the three points, how ever, he would have liked to score more goals against teams like Gimnasia

With no current national manager, Argentinian fans are screaming out for River Plate boss, Mr Drezzy, to be hired as national coach. But these are just rumours, with no official announcement as of yet

Maradona: Drezzy is not your man!

Diego Maradona has warned Argentina that they should not hire Mr Drezzy. He said that he lacks ambition as a manager and is in no way capable of managing River Plate, let alone Argentina

Copa Sudamericana 1st round, Leg 2

River Plate (1)4-0(1) Santa Fe

Barrios (6, 43, 59, Santa Cruz (61))

river_plate.jpg

With a 1-1 draw in the previous leg, River were favourites to go through. It was Lucas Barrios who opened the scoring, netting his first on 6 minutes. Sante fe were poor today and looked intimidated from the start, with Barrios further punishing their slack defending, with his second goal on 43 minutes, although there was a hint of offside.
After the break, River came out firing, with Barrios heading in his third, and hit hat trick. Santa Cruz fired home on 61 minutes, making the score 4-0 on the night, and 5-1 on aggregate, River were through

river21.jpg

Mr Drezzy was over the moon with tonight performance, he remains on course to win his second Copa Sudamericana

Mr Drezzy remains in charge of River, and had stated that to the Chilean F.A. It is rumoured the Argentina wanted him to leave RIver

The F.A: Mr Drezzy was never our man

Argentina-FA.jpg

The Argentinian F.A have distanced themselves from speculation that they missed out on Mr Drezzy, stating that he had never been in contention.
As much as they respect his record in Argentinian Football, there was no way that, at this point, they could hire the Englishman. Many are speculating it is because he is English, whilst others are reporting that it is his public feud with Argentinian Legend, Diego Maradona, that cost him the job

Arsenal de Sarandi 0 - 3 River Plate

Caruzzo (3), Rojas (59), Santa Cruz (76)

2077753475_226eb8b089.jpg

River out played Arsenal today, giving them no breathing room, and no meaningful shots on target. Caruzzo headed home in the 3rd minute, from a Piatti Corner.
River continued to press but again, their strikers were misfiring.
A free kick from Rojas doubled Rivers lead after 59 minutes, giving Arsenal a mountain to climb. And then on 76 minutes, Santa Cruz blasted the ball into the top right hand corner, to put the game to bed. A very good win for River today.

arsenal-vs-river2.jpg

Mr Drezzy was delighted with the defensive performance today, and also was happy that River scored a few goals.

River Plate 4-1 Tigre

Barrios (7, 71), Buonanotte (39), Santa Cruz (76)

Morales (83)

wpid-River-Plate-vs-Tigre.jpg

River again looked Brilliant, totally out playing a decent Tigre team. Lucas Barrios continued his delightful form with a half volley on 7 minutes, giving River the lead.
River were full of confidence, with Diego Buonanotte scoring on 39 minutes, with a brutal header, that no keeper could have saved.
River went in two goals up at half time and never looked like losing in the second half. On 71 minutes, the pressure paid of with Barrios scoring what must be the goal of the season, a brilliant over head kick. And then, 5 minutes later, Santa Cruz continued is scoring streak, shooting from out side of the area, sending the River fans crazy.
But Caruzzo was the villain of the match, over playing a back pass which hit the post, tigres Morales was the first to respond, tapping the ball into an empty net. But it was to late to even contemplate a Tigre fight back, River won in fashionable style.

This is what mr Drezzy promised River fans, dominating football, and with the SuperClasico around the corner, River fans couldn't be in higher spirits

Argentina International, Carlos Tevez, today said that Argentina dropped the ball by not hiring Mr Drezzy as national coach. He went onto say that he was a delight to work with and would like to work with him again one day

Independiente 0 - 2 River Plate

Galeano (24), Pablo Piatti (75)

wpid-Independiente-vs-River-Plate.jpg

On this performance, Independiente shouldn't be at the bottom of the table. They looked solid, but are lacking up front, as is the case with most of their games.
It took some magic to unlock their defence, and that was Provided by Galeano, who went on a run, he went one, then two and finally three before blasting the ball into the net. Every one was shocked by that, he showed some great dribbling skills.
River kept banging on the Independiente door, but just couldn't get through again. Independiente's lack of goals through out the season was worrying for them, especially when their strikers miss open goals, just like they did on the hour marker tonight.
But it was Piatti who scored next, from a free kick, curling the ball around the wall. Independiente couldn't come back, it was too late

30547.jpg

River will be delighted with this win, it kept them in touching distance of Boca Juniors, and was a good sign going into their Copa Sudamericana game with Independiente

Shame about the Argentina Job... I hear Capello is looking over his shoulder lol.

Copa Sudamericana Quater Final Leg 1

River Plate 3 - 2 Independiente

Barrios (15, 37), Defederico (pen 25)

Velasquez (27)l, Jorge Cordoba (54)

wpid-River-Plate-vs-Independiente.jpg

After securing a good win against Independiente in the Premier League, River took them on again in the Copa Sudamericana quarter finals.
It was River who looked the better side, Barrios heading home from the six yard line. But Independiente looked like a better side then in the previous game, keeping the ball and making River run. But it was River who scored next as Barrios was taking down in the area, how ever, replays showed Barrios dived. Defederico planted it the top corner with an unstoppable penealty. But Independiente kept on pushing and Velasquez volleyed home, with a great goal, to score an important away goal.
Barrios then scored 8 minutes before half time, scoring with a placed shot. River led 3-1 going into the break.
Rivers paced dropped a little in the second half, and Independiente took advantage on 54 minutes, Cordoba scoring from a free kick. But that was the scoring over, but both teams came close to scoring again. River take a 3-2 lead into the second leg

files.php

River deserved the win today, but mr Drezzy will be disappointed that they conceded two away goals. It could come back to haunt them

River Plate 6 - 0 Banfield

Saviola (14, 76), Barrios (25, 28, 87), Defederico (71)

01.png

After this fantastic performance, River topped the Premier league, on goal difference. River never gave Banfield a chance, with the returning Saviola netting on 14 minutes. Then the in form Barrios blasted home from close rance on 25 minutes, followed 3 minutes later by a brilliant placed header. Barrios had put the game beyond a poor Banfield.
River controlled the second half, with Defederico scoring a free kick from 30 yards out, a great goal. And then the flood gates opened, Saviola getting his second, taping in a dropped ball by their keeper. And then Barrios completed his hat trick, with a sublime run before placing the ball under the keeper. River win 6-0

River-Plate-vs-Bandfiled.jpg

In 13 games, River had gone from a very average side to potential champions, just were they should be

Lanus fans invaded the pitch during the half time break, in their 0-0 draw with Boca Juniors. The Argentinian F.A said they would investigate, and many thought they would be given a hefty fine, how ever, The F.A have taken the unusual step of awarding the game, and all 3 points, To Boca Juniors. This puts them back at the top of the table, with a two point lead.
No words as of yet from River Plates Mr Drezzy

Mr Drezzy: Diego is a dirty cheat!

Maradona-Hand-of-God.jpg

Mr Drezzy has slammed the F.A's decision to award Boca all three points after crowd trouble in the Lanus game. Mr Drezzy said that any one else would have been given a fine, but because Diego Maradona is held in such high regard at the F.A, boca were awarded all three points.
Mr Drezzy could be fined for his words after he accused Maradona and members of the F.A of cheating, and that they probably had worked it all out, when they were on Maradona's yacht, snorting all kinds of things

F.A: Drezzy banned from SuperClasico

r

After Mr Drezzy's harsh words about Maradona and the F.A, The F.A have smacked a one game ban on Mr Drezzy, stating that he will not be allowed any where near the Stadium in the upcoming SuperClasico.
Diego Maradona, said in a press conference, that this would end Rivers chase for the opening stage title

Copa Sudamericana Quarter Final Leg 2

Independiente (2)2 - 4(3) River Plate

Notario (43), Cordoba (46)

Defederico (1), Barrios (29), Velazquez own goal (66), Caruzzo (90+1)

wpid-Independiente-vs-River-Plate.jpg

River Plate had the slender lead, and this game would not be easy, but River got of to a flyer, with Defederico scoring with his first touch, in the very first minute of the game. This shocked Independiente, with River taking advantage, and having a few pot shots on goal, but Independiente managed to hold them back. But it was pure brilliance from Piatti, who played a through ball to Barrios, that led to the second goal. Barrios placing the ball to the keepers right, 2-0. River looked home and dry.
But on a super attack, Independiente got one back, Notario heading home.
After the break, they came out very strong, and they scored in the 46th minute, Cordoba smashing the ball into the net, from 30 yards out, leaving Romero with no chance.
The game was back on, and Independiente looked good, going for that third goal to level the tie on aggregate. How ever, River hit them on the break, Piatti playing the ball into the area, Velazquez stuck his foot out to stop it reaching Barrios, but disaster, he put it into his own net. The players heads dropped, that was a crucial body blow to their comeback. All their players fell to the floor, like a relegated team would do.
And in the death, caruzzo piled in more misery, heading home to give River a good win. River through

97516825.jpg

On Paper, it looked like River dominated, but the reality was different. Mr Drezzy knew that River were close to getting defeated, if Independiente managed to score a third, they surely would have gone on to win, but luck was on Rivers side today
