River Plates first game under Mr Drezzy went really well. new signing, Marco Ruben, opened the scoring on 20 minutes with a powerful effort. It was Jo who scored a header, something he was well known for whilst playing at Boca and Everton. Ruben scored his second just before the half, tapping in a Jo shot which had hit the cross bar.
After the break, Galeano powered a header home, from a Piatti corner. The game was over but Deportivo managed to score, with Diaz volleying home on 71 minutes

River Plates second game of the season was a bit more challenging and draining then the last one, but its all good experience for the new season. Ruben continued his fine form with a blistering effort on 28 minutes, leaving their keeper with no chance. The action was back and forth, with Caldas getting their equaliser on the 40th minute mark, when Romero dropped the ball, which ended up in the net.
Calas came out strong in the second half, with Cortes putting them ahead on 60 minutes but it didn't last long, as Solis netted from 7 yards out, equaling the scores. Lucas Barrios then scored a brace, on 82 and 84, to give the game to River Plate 4-2

Today was a little tougher, but River looked fit and ready

Love the Crespo appointment mate. Look forward to you dominating Boca and mugging Maradona off

Velez 5-1 River Plate

Ortiz (10), Cristaldo (12, 72), Silva (26, 35),

Barrios (62), Armero injured (49)

velez+vs.+river.jpg

Terrible start to the season from River Plate. Velez were all over them, and River didn't look good at all. There will be some harsh words to be had, as Crespo and Drezzy looked lost on the sidelines

It cannot get any worse then this, River were shocking, Mr Drezzy has alot of work to do
