October

After a good start it was vital that we kept it up this month. I want this to be a really succesful season for the club and that is only possible through a good work ethic. All the lads are on fairly intensive training schedules but we can't over do it as we have a small squad. If we keep making improvements individually and as a team then we will contine to progres.

After beating the Brummies in the Carling Cup I was very dissapointed with our peformance today. We never really got going and did not threaten their goal enough at all, we managed to score our only clear cut chance through
Vincenzo Rennella The fact they went ahead under 10 minutes made it very difficult for us today as they sat deep and we had no penetration.

Newcastle (Away)

Things were looking really good after
Tomas Necid gave us an early lead and just as we wee starting to exert our dominance and stamp on the match but Steve Sidwell got a silly red card which left us in the lurch. We didn't fully recover afte.

Very hard to take. After two consecutive draws I really wanted a win today and we played fairly well but once again maybe not well enough to win the match. Vincenzo Rennella scored a neatly placed effort after
Rhys Murphy created space but they equalised late on though Kris Boyd :(

Afte three consecutive 1-1 draws in the league I really wanted to win this and thankfully we performed as well as we needed to. After a tight first half we started the second with real intent and our strike partnership of
Tomas Necid and Rhys Murphy got us through once again, both strikers scored fine goals.

Monthly Overview

Not a great month for us here with 3 consecutive 1-1 draws in the league; we have defended okay but our attacking play has let us down a bit especially in the midfield.
Sebastien Rudy and Steve Sidwell have done well but new signings Nemanja Matic and Morgan Schneiderlin are still trying to find their feet. Luckily Rhys Murphy and Tomas Necid have performed very well so far this season.

I've been tweaking tacticall in areas we are wanting a little bit, the lads are working on being a little more expressive. We want to distribute our passing all over the pitch and we are working on it.

thanks mate, need to bring the thread up to where I amwhich is decembe so the november update will be posted shortly.

Ahhh my beloved Chucho scored past the legends that are Dean Neeson's Brentford!
Happy Days :)

November

After not managing a single a league win in the last month I didn't want to go on a winless streak that would bring down the morale of the lads. Like I said before we are going to try to be a bit more expressive with our play on the pitch but we will need to keep good discipline.

Fantastic response from the lads today. Our first half performance was fantastic with Darnel Situ and
Morgan Schneiderlin scoring their first goals for the club. We had to hold our during the second half as they came at us after they scored but we defended well and got a vital 3 points.

Another great performance from the lads today in a game that really could have gone either way. They took the lead early and I was worried we would fail to find ourselves in the match but we responded magnificently. Tomas Necid showed his immense strength to head us an equaliser before a beautiful one two between Necid and Rhys Murphy allowed the latter to slide it home.

Our momentum continues here with a really good battling display against an underachieving but talented West Ham side. We wen't ahead deservedly in the first half thanks to Isaiah Osbourne finishing off a good teammove. We defended poorly during a period we knew they would come at us and we paid for it but the little German wonder Sebastien Rudy ploughed a screamer from 25 yards 7 minutes from time to give us a third consecutive victory.

With us playing Stoke again in the Carling Cup within a matter of days winning this would give us the psychological edge for the next game. We were dreadful in the first half after they went ahead just 4 minutes in and I had a real go at the lads, we cannot perform like that in this league, especially at home. We came out in the second half amazingly and after
Tomas Necid scored 1 minute after the interval we controlled the game. Rhys Murphy also continued his good form putting us ahead before Necid finished the game off with his second goal.

Suprise Package Brentford Defying All Odds

There has been little to cheer about in West London in recent times, Chelsea have failed to capture a league title in 8 years and with Fulham and QPR lingering in the Championship everyones attention has been switched to West London minnows Brentford.

Despite having limited resources and averaging an attendance over just over 14,000 (the lowest in the league) Neeson's men sitting pretty in the table after recording 4 league wins on the bounce. The media have been lavishing praise of Neeson and his players and there are no qualms that they deserve it.

"It's nice for the lads to hear the praise they're getting and they deserve every ounce of it. Everyone at the club has been working extremely hard this season and our performances are showing that. Long may it continue."

Monthly Overview

Fantastic month for us winning all 4 league games we played. The ammount of hunger and desire the lads have shown has been a real eye opener for the supporters, everyone is playing with their heart on their sleeve. We are a small club but our goal is change that, we want this club to be recognizable across Europe and we are clearly on the right track.

once again thanks for following lads.

December

We were brilliant last month and with some of the fixtures we have this month it is going to be hard to replicate it but we are in good form and the morale is sky high at the moment so hopefully we can pull out some good results this month.

League Cup Qtr Final -
Stoke (Home)

View attachment 33277

Very hard fought game. Stoke made it difficult for us today and we found it difficult to score. The little German Sebastian Rudy popped up again late on to send us to the semi-finals for the first time in our history.

EPL -
Chelsea (Away)

View attachment 33270

One of the hardest fixtures in the Premier League calendar and we gave it a very good effort today. Rhys Murphy put us ahead in the first half with a powerful strike but Lampard equaliser in the second half as Chelsea continued to press.

EPL -
Liverpool (Away)

View attachment 33273

We almost caused an upset at Anfield today and were very unlucky not to win. Vincenzo Renella put us ahead once again showing what a deadly finisher he is but Spanish wonder kid Canales mesmerized poor Rausch to equalise for them 2 minutes into the second half.

EPL
-
Wolves (Away)

View attachment 33276

Third away game in a row and this was a heartbreaker. Tomas Necid clambered above everyone to head us in front and we controlled after that. We couldn't finish them off and we paid for it dearly as they equalised 5 MINUTES into stoppage time.

EPL -
West Brom (Home)

View attachment 33269

Fantastic performance especially Tomas Necid who netted a superb hat-rick. We never looked like losing thanks to Necid scoring on either side of the break before completing his hatrick deep into stoppage time.

Necid was the hero today at Griffin Park after scoring a super hatrick. He is now the Premier League's top scorer.

EPL

Man Utd (Away)

We showed them far too much respect and in someways the lads showed they are only human. We got thumped and we haven't lost often so when we do it hurts, but to lose like this makes it very difficult to stomach.

EPL -
Sunderland (Away)

View attachment 33275

We couldn't beat them at home and we couldn't beat them away. Very dissapointing considering we went ahead through Vincenzo Rennella but they came storming out in the second half and raced into a 2-1 lead. Who else but Rhys Murphy popped up late on to poach it home and give us a point.

EPL -
Burnley (Home)

View attachment 33268

They are a very good side but we should have won today. We beat them away and we had the crowd behind us today. I really wanted us to win this as we have only won one match all month. They went up early but first half goals from
Tomas Necid and Rhys Murphy gave us the lead. Sadly our concentration levels were poor again and they scored a goal in injury time.

Monthly Overview

It's been a very odd month in which we won 1, drew 5 and lost 1 match in the league. We had some tough fixtures but I am very dissapointed with the Wolves and Burnley results. We should have won both of those gamesand have let ourselvesdown. The only real positive is the goals were scoring and the fact we have gotten into the semi finals of the Carling Cup.

Necid is the EPL top scorer so farwhich is fantastic for the lad and us :)

January

I rarely ever do business in January and I will continue that trend this season. There is not much value in the market and I don't feel we need anymore reinforcements this season. We were struggling to win games last month and that is something that needs to be adressed this month.

Here is the current squad list:

FA Cup 3rd Round -
Bristol City (Away)

View attachment 33288

This was very difficult today and it was a very controntational much despite it only being the 3rd round. Rhys Murphy put us ahead after a calm finish but they were well in it still and equalised 10 minutes later. We are the late specialists though and we lived up to that billing with
Tomas Necid netting a brace in the last 10 minutes.

Carling Cup Semi Final 1st Leg - Aston Villa (Home)

View attachment 33285

We were awful in the first half and I thought our chances of making the final were in serious trouble but I laid into them at the break and the response was very positive. Good work from Necid allowed
Rhys Murphy to pull a goal back before Vincenzo Rennella scored a trademark screamer to leave the 2nd leg perfectly poised.

EPL
-
Arsenal (Away)

View attachment 33280

We made the short journey down to the Emirates knowing that a result was definately possible and we defended like absolute lions again. Arsenal kept coming and we just kept knocking them back, we even had a few good chances to win it ourselves but I am happy with a point.

EPL -
Liverpool (Home)

View attachment 33286

:D Fantastic performance today, we went ahead through the rampaging Tomas Necid but they equalised just 2 minutes later which was dissapointing. Thankfully we kept up our momentum during the game and fully deserved to win it. Goals from Vincenzo Rennella and
Rhys Murphy in the first 4 minutes of the half sealed the tie.

Carling Cup Semi Final 2nd Leg
-
Aston Villa (Away)

View attachment 33281

WE'RE GOING TO WEMBLEY!!!
Unbelievable, absolutely unbelievable. Villa really rolled over today and didn't look threatening, in a weird way this dissapointed me a little bit but I'm not complaining!
Rhys Murphy set us on our way after going through on goal 15 minutes in before the in form Vincenzo Rennella booked our place in the final.

Historic Final for Brentford

Brentford FC have made history this evening following their 2-0 win over Aston Villa. The bees only real honours are the Coca Cola League 1 & 2 and this is their first appearance in a major domestic cup final.

View attachment 33292

Griffin Park was subject to a pitch invasion at the final whistle and it is easy to see why. Since taking over the helm 5 years ago Neeson led Brentford to consecutive promotions before stabilising their Premier League status by finishing 11th in their debut season in the league and just as it seemed Brentford had hit the ceiling they have now gone one better and fully deserve their place in the final. It's easy to say Neeson's men will be most neutrals favoured team for the trophy.

"It's such an outstanding achievment and I am so proud of the lads. We have a small squad and we really pulled together tonight. Everyone involved with Brentford will enjoy this but all the staff and lads know we need to keep our discipline and continue our good league form. Burnley are a good side but we know how to beat them, we've done it before and we will be going all out to make sure it happens again. No group of players are hungrier for sucess than these lads".

Brentford will play Burnley at Wembley for the Carling Cup final and the match will be both distributed live on BBC and SkySports.

FA Cup 4th Round -
Man Utd (Home)

View attachment 33287

Another outstanding performance. We avenged the battering they gave us at OT and we did it in style too. Even the hardest United fans will admit we fully deserved our victory today and the lads should all be proud.
Rhys Murphy was a thorn in their side all day and scored both the goals either side of half time.

EPL

Crystal Palace - (Away)

View attachment 33289

Great way to finish the month with a very assured performance from the lads today. We controlled throughout and never game them a sniff at our goal. Tomas Necid put us ahead midway through the second half with his strike partner Rhys Murphy doubling the lead 10 minutes into the second half.

Monthly Overview

Fantastic month for us. 2 wins and 1 draw in the league is great considering two of those teams were Arsenal and Liverpool. The fact we have reached the Carling Cup final is a historic moment in the history of Brenford and we are extremely proud. Another plus is the fact we have got to the FA Cup 5th round beating Man Utd along the way :D

Long may this continue.
