Hope you have enough in the kitty to offer the big fella some sweeteners that will get him down to Griffin Park 8-|

February

Last month was fantastic and we really peformed to the best of our ability. We have some really tough fixtures coming and we need to be ready. We are close to achieving survival and the earlier we cn do it the better.

It was a goal fest full of poor defending which was very unlike us.
Rhys Murphy's brace was the highlight. Being 3-1 down with 15 minutes to go I am delighted to be table to come away with a point especially considering they're in and around us.

View attachment 29130

What can I say, we are actually scoring goals. It was a great game of football with both sides playing their part but once again we showed the resolve needed to win the game with another 2 goals in the last 20 minutes to give us the win.

FA Cup 5th Round

View attachment 29132

The draw was rather kind to us and it was obvious this was a real chance to get into the quarter finals. To be fair to them they gave it everything but we came out on top quite easily in the end, they couldn't defend well enough against our forwards.

View attachment 29136

Don't want to say much. Sucker punched with a late goal.

View attachment 29131

Again we were comfortably beaten but they are a top side.

March

View attachment 29133

Second time we have frustrated Man City with a 0-0 this season :D Great result thanks to all our hard work.

View attachment 29139

Any away point is good and it was hard today. Neither team plyed good stuff and we just had to grind out the draw really.

FA Cup Qtr Final

View attachment 29138

They took revenge on our legue win over them by dumping us out of the cup with ease :( It was like the lads minds were on th beach today,

View attachment 29134

Another bore draw. We defended superbly as usual thanks to
Matthew Kilgallon but we are struggling to score goals again. I want to close the season in style.

February/March Overview

It's been an okay couple of months. We did very well in February and not so well in March but we have accumulated a very good ammount of points and we can be confident in finishing the season I think.

yeah we are making a profit every single month so financially we are doing alot better. the balance is getting bigger and bigger plus we have the final psition money to come in and so on. so if I do okay im sure next sesons budget will be a lot better.

April

With us hitting 41 points I knew safety was assured but I wanted to see how many points we could end up with. The higher the finish the more money for next season so.

Awful. First time we've got "hammered" this season. Excuse the pun.

View attachment 29221

Nice to get back to winning ways after last weeks hammering. We are definately safe now and have already defied all expectations. I hope we can continue it.

View attachment 29217

Very poor. The lads dont seem motivated to play at the moment which is dissapointing.

View attachment 29218

We scored 2 goals very early and it knocked the stuffing out of them but we got so poor after that and definately were lucky to come out with the win. But a win away is always nice.

Entertaining game but it was more important to them in terms of the league. Both teams played good stuff and the defending went out the window a bit. Lazovic sweeped it home late to give us a point.

View attachment 29236

Dissapointed not to beat the bottom team but a point is a point I suppose.

View attachment 29220

Very good performance from the lads to finish the season nicely in front of our fans :D

Overview

Well as you can see we got a little bit lacklustre towards the end of the season with the players seeming more preoccupied with the beach than the game but it doesn't take anything away from the fantastic season we have had.

The lads have shown a great unity and determination. Finishing 11th when everyone predicted us to be rock bottom is a great feeling. It's been a fantastic debut season in the Premier League for us but we need to keep our feet on the ground and try to consolidate our status next term.

Here is the final league table :)

Matthew Kilgallon has been IMMENSE :)

the end of season report/pre season update will be later or tomorrow :)

Amazing, well done Dean, you must have a big budget now considering all the profit, league finish and tv money.

End of Season Report

After a fantastic season finishing 11th and getting to the Qtr final of the FA Cup it was difficult to single out players who were key as the whole squad was fantastic but here goes...

Key Players

Rhys Murphy - Obviously he hasn't been as prolific as previous seasons but he still put in a great shift this season and got 9 league goals in 34 league games with 2 in the cup competitions.

Vincenzo Rennella - We paid 1.9M for him and he did fairly well for us. He's an attacking player and we were very limited attacking wise this season but he still put in a good shift 6 goals and 7 assists in 35 games.

Matthew Kilgallon - The lad was our player of the season. He was the heartbeat of our defence and played well every single time he played. He got the most MoM awards in the Premier League this season with 8 and he averaged 7.35 all season which is very impressive, especially as we got him on a free.

Anthony Vanden Borre - Brentford's most expensive signing had a very good season for us and as a good force in the midfield and the defence, the lad even did well in RB when called upon so I am defintately pleased I purchased the utility man. He managed to get himself 4 goals and 3 assists in 29 league games.

Danko Lazovic - The experienced striker cost me 1.3M and he was worth it in the end. He got 7 goals and 5 assists in 31 games.

Pre-Season

Well after making a massive profit this season the board offered me 20M to avoid relegation so I went for mid table finish which ensured 25M would be my transfer budget with a wage budget of 300K.

I knew I was going to definately add some creativity to the team and a big powerful striker was also on the list and I feel I did that with the transfers I made. Please note I never use monthly installments as I have almost got the club debt free and I'm not one for trying to muddle that up by spending silly.

29M is a lot of money but it was extremely necessary investment as we cannot get by again like last season.

Transfer News

Here is an overview:

Ins

View attachment 29299

Darnel Situ (10.25M) in my opinion is one of the best young centrebacks around at the moment and I didn't mak him Brentford's most expensive player ever for no reason. He hs fantastic attributes and characteristics to his game and I think he can partnet Kilgallon at the back. John Kennedy is good cover but is too injury prone despite good performances. 10.25M well spent.

View attachment 29308

Tomas Necid (9.5M) - We got our man :D He cos us near enough 10M but he is worth every penny. His goalscoring record is fantastic and he can provide something different to what we have already.

View attachment 29301

Diego Renan (5M)
- A very versatile player who can play both wing back positions The bonus here is that the lad is immensely talented and I have no doubt he will become a massive hit here at Grffin Park.

View attachment 29300

Bruno Zuculini (2.5M) - The lad has great technique and is a very good passer of the ball. He is very well equipped defensively and has some attacking attributes which makes him a **** of a prospect for us. I had no problem paying 2.5M for him especially as he is only 21.

View attachment 29302

Sebastien Rudy (1.9M)
- The German midfielder is a very well rounded attacking player and has plenty of creativity in his locker. I've strengthened the midfield alot this summer but I still felt he was needed, hopefully he will be one of our creative sparks.

View attachment 29307

Jordan Austin (Regen - Free)
- We needed a backup keeper to Stubhaug as our back up Josh Swann left. Jordan is a young talented player with a great future ahead of him. I'm hopeful he can develop into our first choice, if not I will probably be replacing Stubhaug next summer.

View attachment 29303

Nemanja Matic (Free) - We needed more technically gifted players to boost the midfield and I feel Nemnja has plenty of technical qualities that will be of great use to us. I'm hoping he can show us some real form with us.

View attachment 29304

Morgan Schneiderlin (Free) - The lad hs been with Southampton in the lower leagues for a while but it is clear to me he has what it takes to play at this level. He will probably be cover for the midfield but if good form is produced he could become a starter, who knows?

Outs

Danko Lazovic (2.5M) - After purchasing him last summer Danko had a fairly good season with us but with him turning 30 I felt now was the only time I could get a decent deal on him and I think I did. Hope the lad does well at Hull.

Ivan Bolado (1.3M) - We signed Ivan last summer for 60K but the lad did not perform when given the chance. I think we've made a very hPhiliandsome profit off the lad. It's a shame he didn't do much for us because he has some quality but I think it is better suited elsewhere.

Adam Virgo (Free)
- Had 2 good years with us but he is not good enough at this level and had to be offloaded.

Steven Hammell (Free)
- Good left back and he performed well for us but once again he was knocking on and is not good enough at this level.

Philipp Defen (1.5M) - We signed him on a free last term and he was decent cover for us but once again he isn't good enough and we've made good profit of another free.

Mika Vayrynen (1.1M) - Very good player for us at Championship level but he was getting old (31) and we had better midfield players. 1.1M is a good deal for a free we signed last summer.

Corry Evans (Loan fee 400k)
- Our Captain has departed even though it is temporarily. It was with a heavy heart confirming this deal but he complained about the competition and it did make me realise he would not be getting into the first team anymore.

Squad

View attachment 29310

We play a narrow formation but we push wider out to accomodate Tomas Necid. I'm hoping Diego Renan will play a big part this season due to his crossing ability being great and Necid being such a beast in the air, a very productive partnership is a possibility.

Targets

I put the expectation to mid table in regards to the board as I feel with the squad I have put together that is more than achievable. I'm delighted with the signings I have made and I know all the signings will be a success in their own way.

The media are predicting 13th so midtable again, at least it is better than the 20th they predicted last year. The club will be effectively debt free by the end of next season and our financial predicament keeps getting better as Griffin Park now has a capacity of 15,000. It's still very small yes but it is a start.

I'm hopeful we can achieve a top 10 finish this season, if things click I don't see why we can.t

Things are looking rosy here at Griffin Park

Once again mate - outstanding work!

Well done for getting the big man in too.

You're going to tear it up - champions league at Griffin Park. When you going to expand the stadium - if you can that is.

thanks mate :) hopefully we can do well

yeah theyve only expanded it a few thousand seats so Im gonn try next summer

I go away for a few days and I come back and this is the first thread I check :P Great finish and Marc Antonio Fortune top scorer? :O Btw, Why is Van Den Borre not at RWB rather than Coleman. Train him there and he'll be good ;) trust me

First story I always read when I come on here.
