thanks alot lads Januart update coming soon as I'm heading out in a bit

January

We have not been outside the playoffs since the start of the season but that means nothing this early on in the season. I feel if we come through this month unscathed and in a good position we have a real chance of staying in the playoff zone or who knows, maybe more.

The Spaniard has failed to establish himself at Griffin Park.

Former Dundee striker
Fransisco Sandaza has completd his 1.4M pound move away from Griffin park. The striker agreed to join Sivasspor in October following his abysmal form and has completed his medical.

"Fransicso is a decent player but I gave him many many games to show us what he could do and he didn't find the net in about 20 games, that is not good enough for a forward and it was a good piece of business for us. I wish him the best."

After their dramatic equaliser in the first game we deserved and needed a bit of luck in this match and we got it.Hull dominated for long periods but didn't create too much and we took our chances when they came. Great upset and another great win.

View attachment 27520

Crystal Palace havent lost yet in the league so this was always going to be hard considering they hammered us in the reverse. Neither of the teams looked overly dangerous although we did have a couple of good chances to score we can't complain.

View attachment 27526

We started awfully and were sloppy with our passing but we improved a bit afrer the break and carved out an equaliser through
Rhys Murphys instinctive finish.

View attachment 27527

We were awful today and I'm sure all the neutrals feel for Sheffield United. We were very poor and were losing every single 50/50 which infuriated me but we overloaded them in the last 20 minutes and somehow got 2 goals.
John Kennedy always seems to knock a header in when we need it most.

View attachment 27519

We ripped them to pieces here and they just couldn't handl
Victor Anichebe who is fast becoming my favourite signing. The lad was so dominant and strong in the air they just couldn't cope with the intensity of his play and he's come out of it with 4 goals :D

FA Cup 4th Round

Amazing game, they went 2-0 up early in the first half and it looked like it was going to be a long day but we somehow grabbed 2 goals back quickly through Beckham's craft and Murphy's finishing. They went ahead again in the second half but our super sub Kelvin Etuhu who grabs late goals from all sorts of angles and corners saved us yet again taking it to a replay.

They were too good for us this time but we gave it everything. We went ahead early but they thumped us after that and went 3-1 ahead so I went for it.
Rhys Murphy got his 5th goal in the cup as we overloaded but they caught us out at the end and finished us off.

View attachment 27521

They gave us an extremely difficult game here and they deserved to go up 5 minutes into the second half but we changed things up after that and went at them more directly and it paid off in the most dramatic circumstances with club top scorer
Rhys Murphy sweeping it home in the dying embers of the match. Delighted to close the month with a win.

Monthly Overview

It's been a very difficult month for us playing 9 matches but overall I am very pleased that we have come out of it with 3 wins and 2 draws in the league which is very satisfactory. We had to play 4 FA cup games and managed to knock out Hull which was a great achievment, we also pushed Wolves to the wire which just brings more reason for optimism.

Here is the league table and we are still around the top which is good

February

Sitting in the playoffs with teams that all have a very similar point total every single gamme is vital from here so I hope I have been able to instill the desire and importance of these matches.

Tight game but we edged it...just about.
Anichebe is proving to be a great signing as he causes so much havoc in the defences, great goal for the lad. We defended well and mainted our composure to see the game out.

View attachment 27679

Another 1-0 but it was a good performance and we did deserve to win despite their spirited effort.
Rhys Murphy scored the only goal of the game but it was well worth it, a superb free kick from our top scorer.

View attachment 27681

We keep grinding out the wins and thats what we did today. It was hard and definately a realy slog in the middle but it was probably the most dramatic match of the season for us. 2 goals in the
last 10 minutes to give us an absolutely priceless victory here. Kelvin Etuhu nd Rhys Murphy once again save us.

View attachment 27676

Very tight game in which we took our only clear cut chance. It was good play between the central midfielders which led to Vayryn going through and slotting it home. They had some chances at the end and it could have been different but we dug in and continued our winning streak.

View attachment 27677

Incredible game, being 3-1 down in the second half we produced a superb come back which saw Victor Anichebe net the equaliser and the winner in the last 20 minutes. 8 league
wins in a row, incredible.

View attachment 27678

We raced into a 2-0 lead early into the second half with Beckham's free kick being the best goal.We controlled most of the game and cut them open enough times to score at least 1 more goal. They got one back and put us under a bit of pressure but surprisingly not too much as it was still relatively easy after that.

View attachment 27680

Argh. 9 match winning streak comes to an ubrupt end here. We were outplayed from start to finish and were extremely poor today. We never looked like threatening and it was a comfy afternoon for them. I'm sure there as shocked as I am.

Great wins and will be looking forward to updates. This is the 1st thread I look at when I come on fm-base;) It's that good

Despite ending the last month with a poor loss our recnt fun of fantastic form has put us in with real shout of promotion and if we get the results this month I think we can achieve promotion.

Injury Horror for Anichebe

The playing and coaching staff are in a state of shock today following the news that former Everton striker Victor Anichebe has ruptured his cruciate ligaments and will be ot for 9-10 months.

The nigerian international has netted 13 league goals in 18 starts and 6 substitute appearances.

"It's devastating news. Victor is a good lad and was having a fantastic season for us heere. He's crushed about it but we all want to gain promotion and get him back and playing Premier Leagu football with us."

Fantastic performance which saw us race into a 2-0 lead in the second half thanks to Rhys Murphy and Fran Merida. They never looked like getting back in it after that and we wrapped the game up late on.

View attachment 27831

We were so poor today against a side who are really struggling. We should have taken advantage of it but they played better than us and showed much more desire and intensity in their play. We managed to knick an equaliser at the death through
Kelvin Etuhu who always pops up late but the performanc, especially at home was not good enough.

View attachment 27837

Very close game but in the 2 previous times we've played Pompey they haven't beat us so I was confident we could win if we played well nough and we did. It was tight and they deserved their equaliser in the second half but a few of the lads seemed tired so I changed a few things and it seemed to spur us into life because after we went ahead we could have scored a few more.

View attachment 27830

Automatic promotion is just a fingertip away after this win. Sadly for Bolton they are really struggling and we took advantage of that last time we played and we did again today.
Rhys Murphy put us ahead and we let them back in right away which was dissapointing but our top scorer Rhys Murphy scored a stunning free kick to give us a crucial win. If we win our next game we win promotion which would be incredible :D

View attachment 27839

PROMOTION!!! Absolutely delighted the lads were under immense pressure today but we provided a fantastic first half performance. Once we went 2-0 ahead we knew how close we were and they battered us a little bit but we held on for Promotion. :D

There were plenty of celebrations and there was plenty of champagne in the dressing room following Brentford's Promotion clinching victory ovr Bolton but Bees manager Dean Neeson managed to give a few words:

"It's a fantastic achievment for everyone involved with the club. The lads have worked really hard all season and I'm proud of everything we have achieved. In the 3 years I've been here we've spent 190K so to get promoted whilst still helping the clubs finances is absolutely amazing.

I've always been local to this club and that's why I turned down the Man City and Tottenham jobs. We are working on something great here and hopefully we can take the club to new heights."

Here is the league table:

Amazing Story Deano, fantastic achievement, shame about the Anichebe injury but you came back a lot stronger, we shall now see if Rhys Murphy can do it in the Premier League, it will be very tough to stay up next season and I imagine your budget will be very tight, I imagine you will rely heavily on the free transfer market.

Absolutely fantastic I am proud of you! lol

I have EVERY piece of faith in you getting them European football sometime soon! I bet the Brentford fans must be holding up signs saying:

"WE LOVE YOU NEESON ***"

lool ;)

OMG! Great promotion!!! I knew you'd do it!!! Anyways, haven't things have changed from the days you release players who have long term injuries? Good luck in the Prem!

wow thanks for all the support guys had more people reading than I thought :)

Yeah but I like anichebe too much and right now we need all the decnt players we have because we haven't been given a massive budget obviously and I don't stray away from my no installment policy. I never use any kind of monthly installment.

Congrats mate! Delighted for you!

Have you been told about a tranfer/wage budget for your openin season in the EPL?

Nice one that you've gone up, i just hope your able to bring in the right blend of youth and experience to help establish yourself as a top flight club! Also, hopefully Anichebe wont be missed too much and hopefully you can find a similar replacement to bag you goals!

All the best! I'll be following!

yeah the budget is 6.5M and 100k so not great but I have made the best possible deals I could do with the circumstancs.

wow great brilliant lol. your story inspired me to do a southampton game and with them i got 2 automatic promotions winning league 1 and finishing 2nd on the last day of the season the next season in the championship you finished 1st although it took you a season longer. im now in the prem and doing quite well. 2012 is quite a good year in your game becuz you can get a lot of players as there contracts have expired good luck. will be following.

What I tend to do in those situations Deano is get as much money out of the **** fringe players and then transfer my whole budget to wages, then rely solely on getting free transfers in and if you see a player available on the cheap, you can just adjust budget.
