What I tend to do in those situations Deano is get as much money out of the **** fringe players and then transfer my whole budget to wages, then rely solely on getting free transfers in and if you see a player available on the cheap, you can just adjust budget.

yeah I did try but I didnt get many takers for many of myplayers so I just did what I could.

and fmguy fantastic achievments there mate :) but don't forget brentford are a much smaller club than southampton, even in the prem im only averaging 9000 :( and promotion in the first season with the wage budget and players I had was just too much but still I'mdelighted to have got 2 successive promotions.

With the 2 draws we let finishing first slip a little bit but we still achieved a fantastic point total and I am delighted with what we have achieved.

Here is the
final league table:

View attachment 28060

We did fantastic considering the resources we had so I am over the moon that we have achieved what seemed impossible at the start of the season but we never went out of the playoff zone so that says it all really.

Key Players

Rhys Murphy - 26 goals and 9 assists in 42 league games wth 5 goals and 1 assists in 7 cup games so a phenominal season for the lad and he is a real asset to us.

Kelvin Etuhu -
16 goals and 8 assists in 38 league games with 4 goals and 3 assists in 7 cup games, he scored so many late winners and equalisers for us. Great first season for us.

Seamus Coleman - The former Everton right back signed on a free and played every sngle league game this season with an average rating of 7.47. He grabbed 1 goal and 7 assists and is already on favouried personnel.

Abou Diaby (Loan)
- He was fantastic for us wth 4 goals and 14 assists in 41 appearances for the club. He will sorely be missed as he was a real beast in the middle. I will try to pick him up when his contract expires but his wages are a bit too much.

David Beckham
- The legendary England international played his part this season and did rather well making 38 appearances with 8 goals and 9 assists at the grand age of 37.

Havard Nordveit (Loan) - He was a real rock at the back for us this season and was always there to be counted on. He averaged 7.54 this season and grabbed 4 goals too.

Victor Anichebe - 13 goals in 18 starts and 6 substitute appearances is a great record and he was fantastic before a cruel injury struck.

Corry Evans - I cannot forget out Captain who again had a marvellous season making 38 league appearances scoring 1 goal and making 1 assist. He was a beast and was lways working hard every game without fail. He has rapidly become a fan favourite.

Flops

Been a very succesful season so not too many but...

Stephen Ayodele Makinwa - Awful.Awful.Awful. Will definately sell.

Fransisco Sandaza - Did not score in 21 appearances for the club, truly awful despite his decent stats. I managed to flog him for 1.4M so good piece of business there.

Season Overview

View attachment 28063

Fantastic season in which we scored plenty of goals and improved our defending vastly. Obviously the Premier League is going to be a whole different kettle of fish but we are going to give it everything we possibly can to try and ensure survival for this club.

We have worked so hard to get where we are that if we got relegated poorly it would be a big step back and a major dissapointment. I know the board will give me what they can and I'll try and get the best possible deals I can.

Bring on the Premier League!

Pre-season report coming tomorrow.

You have certainly made Brentford proud mate! Doing exceptionally well =D All the best in the EPL, it gonna be tough. But im sure you can do it ;)

Amazing stuff mate. xfreix took the words right out of my mouth. Good luck in the EPL. (H)

quailty game mate thinking of starting a brentford game as my dad supports them and i live close aswell hopefully i will do aswell as you but highy doubt it well done mate

Pre-Season Report

Since the unbelievable promotion last season I knew this was easily going to be one of the toughest challenges I have done in the Premier League with the resources and players available but I did manage to make a few transfers. Don't hold your breath though.

This is the clubs first season in the top flight and the media or the board doesn't hold out much hope but we are going to fight to the death. I'm going to be playing a very defensive formation this year because lets face it. If we try to play teams of the park this season we are just going to get spanked at times.

The board gave me 6.5M to spend with a wage budget of 100K P/W.

Transfers

Unfortunately I wasn't able to do that much business during this window. I did try to flog off quite a few players in the summer but there was hardly any interest and when there was the offers were appauling. There were quite a good selection on frees (Vela etc) but the ammount of clubs that were interested and when you can only offer up to 12K p/w alot of these players aren't going to be interested :(

But I am still satisfied with the business I could do. The board was supposd to have a takeover but it has collapsed 3 times which is unbelievably annoying really.

Here is an
overview of my transfers, I'm sure there will be some raised eyebrows.

Here are screenshots of the players:

View attachment 28299

Michael Taylor (Sriker - 110K) - This lad is a decent regen. He is 20 so he won't become world class or anything but a very good player for 110K regardless.

View attachment 28286

Ivan (Centre Mid - Free) - The second and last regen signing. The 18 year old Spanish youngster signed from Segunda Division B side Alicante. Again won't become amazing but will definately be a very good player. He only wanted £160 P/W so no loss here.

View attachment 28287

Vincenzo Rennella (AMC - 1.9M) - Vincenzo is definately a talent and 1.9M was a good deal for a talented player. He will need time to settle but once he does I hope he will be able to help up us stay in this league.

View attachment 28298

Phillip Degen (Right Back - Free) - More of a case of needed to rather than wanted to, he was free and didn't want large wages. Seamus Coleman is still first choice right back but David Cowan left us so we needed a backup RB desperately and I'm hopeful Phillip can do it at this level.

View attachment 28294

Marco D'Alessandro (AMR/ST - Loan 275K) - Marco is a young fairly talented player and he had very low wages in comparison to many of the other loanees we tried for. He can operate up front and on the right flank so hopefully he will be of some use to us.

View attachment 28285

Matthew Kilgallon (Centrehalf - Free) - Had to fight off a host of other clubs for this lad. I truly believe he is a fantastic player and will help us desperately at the back. He brings in experience and I'm sure he'll be a rock at the back for us.

View attachment 28297

Konstantin Rausch (Left Back - Free) - He doesn't look like much but some good teams were after him and despise his poor technical stats he is very good at defending which is what we need. He will compete with Stephen Hammell for the left back spot. I hope this does not become a problem area.

View attachment 28296

Hedwiges Maduro (DM/CM - 650K) - Saw a bargain and took it. He is a decent player and I'm sure he can do well at this level. We don't have the biggest budget so any players who are fairly good at these prices are vital.

View attachment 28284

Steve Sidwell (CM - 1.5M)- Stevie brings alot of Premier League experience to the squad which is vital. He is a fairly good player all round and we managed to get him on a low contract thanks to Villa agreeing to pay him 14K P/W til the end of his contract :).

View attachment 28289

Ival Bolado (Striker - 60k) - He hasn't proven much at this level but he is young and has decent stats. With the right guidance who knows, he could become decent. 60K is a good deal so we aren't complaining.

View attachment 28295

Anthony Vanden Borre (Utility Man - 2M) - Anthony becomes Brentford's most expensive signing ever at a whopping 2M. People may think why but the lad is extremely versatile and we have a small squad. He is a good quality player and will be a great deal of help to us.

View attachment 28288

Danko Lazovic (Striker - 1.9M) - He is a very experienced striker with a very good goal to game ratio, he also grabbed alot of assists for his old team so he seems a decent forward. I'm not expecting massive things but hopefully when we really need someone who can finish it he will be there.

I know a lot of people will be thinking wtf at those transfers but I am satisfied as we just do not have the resources. Loads of players rejected on the clubs facilities along with the wages so it was just extremely difficult trying to attract decent players to the club. But I am content with what we have and we will have to give it everything if we want to stay up.

Squad

Here is 2 screenshots containing our entire first team squad, it is rather small as you can see. Also Makinwa and Beckham are no longer with us so it is even smaller.

Targets

Well I know it is going to be a very very difficult season ahead and I'm glad the board recognise that aswell. They wanted me to
"attempt to avoid relegation" and that is what I selected because I have to be realistic here with the squad and resources I have.

Board:
Attempt to avoid relegation
Media Prediction:
20th (Inspiring)

My goal is simple. We need to stay in this league, it would be a major set back in my eyes to take a step backwards and drop down a league again. The goal always was to try and get to the big time and we have done that. The hard part is staying here and we are going to give it all that we can, that is all we can do.

first results of the season either today (if I can be bothered) or tomorrow. thanks for following guys :)

August

With the lads all eager to get the season underway it was important I fielded the fittest squad possible to start us off but I was pleased with the ammount of games the lads got under their belt in pre-season. We have a tough run in to start us off.

Results

View attachment 28382

Drab match here. We defended really well considering the new lads need time to gel. We created a couple of openings but a draw was a fair result.

View attachment 28381

We gave them too much respect and they dominated the game. I am pleased with the effort we made but we didn't create anything.

League Cup 2nd Round

View attachment 28380

We didn't play well here but thankfully we managed to ****** a winner late on against our rivals.
Kelvin Etuhu did what he does best and that is score late goals. It may only be the League Cup but a win will get us going a bit.

September

View attachment 28391

Again we got dominated and showed them too much respect. We didn't show anything at all going forward and that was disaapointing. We will improve I assure the fans of that. With all the media predicting such a cruel demise for us it makes more hungry to prove the doubters wrong. We haven't scored a Premier League goal yet.

View attachment 28388

Finally! It wasn't a great game to say the least but what a crucial win this is. We needed to get something here and to come away with 3 points is fantastic. Former Dundee striker
Michael Taylor scored the first Premier League goal in Brentford's history when he pounced on Rhys Murphys rebound right at the death.

View attachment 28378

Another bore draw here but Hull are a good side and we defended like lions with Matthew Kilgallon again the standout performer. We negated alot of their play but again we didn't create enough at all.

View attachment 28379

They came above us by 1 point last year and with us being at home this was a must win and thankfully a last gasp
Rhys Murphy strike has given us a crucial victory. We seem to score a lot of late goals which is a good thing I suppose.

League Cup 3rd Round

View attachment 28383

A good win here against an established Premier League side, with Captain Corry Evans
bagging a brace. I'm dissapointed it went to extra time because we have a small squad and areplaying Chelsea after this but we managed to get through and give the fans something to smile about.

View attachment 28389

West London derby here and the scoreline flatters them a little bit. They went ahead after 30 seconds or so and I was worried it was going to be a long day but we battled really hard after that and went for it. Sadly again a lack of creativity was a problem and they picked us off with 2 late goals.
Rhys Murphy got us a consolation at the end.

August/September Overview

I think we have done okay so far. 2 wins, 2 draws and 3 losses in our debut season in the Premier league is not bad considering the 3 defeats were to Chelsea, Man Utd and Tottenham who are all top 5 teams. We also got 2 victories in the League cup which helped build confidence. There is a lot to improve on but there is a fair bit to be optimistic about too.

We have defended very well in alot of the games but we are struggling to create chances which is something we have been working on. Once the lads gel a little better we will be better but we have to play a defensive formation otherwise we might get steamrolled.

Here is the League Table:

View attachment 28390

We are doing okay at the moment and I think we can only get better too so I'm hoping we can stay out of that relegation zone.

October

After on okay start we need to continue it the best we can. Every game in this League is extremely difficult and the lads are training very hard at the moment. We need to continue our excellent defending so far as it is the backbone to our survival.

Very close game and with us being at home it was a must win. New 1.9M signing
Vincenzo Rennella scoring early in the first half. It could have gone either way with both sides creating a few chances to win the game, thankfully we took one of ours to give us our 3rd league win of the season.

View attachment 28497

Very difficult game and they penned us in at times but we defended like lions and just kept knocking everything they threw at us right back at them.
Matthew Kilgallon was again the standout performer.

View attachment 28501

Man City have an amazing squad and probably have the most depth in the league but we came here today and worked our socks off. They had a few chances they should have scored but again we defended magnificently to earn a great point.

Carling Cup 4th Round

View attachment 28498

After drawing United I decided to field a weakened team because it was going to be hard enough to win the game anyway. They dominated from start to finish and we never looked dangerous. I can live with going out of this cup for now especially as we lost to one of the favourites.

November

View attachment 28511

A great win for us today although the scoreline did definately flatter us a little bit as Sunderland matched us throughout the entire game.
John Kennedy nodded in a header to put us ahead before new signing Lazovic sweeped it home to give us another invaluable 3 points.

View attachment 28502

We performed fantastically today over an underachieving Arsenal side and we deserved to go ahead. They came at us really hard in the second half and Fabregas used his creativity to pick out a great pass which led to their goal. But stil a point against Arsenal is a great result and we move on from here.

View attachment 28505

Another tight game which saw us go ahead through a wonder goal by
Vincenzo Rennella, sadly we fell away a bit and allowed to come to at us and pressurize us. A point away is never bad though so we are pleased here.

October/November Overview

A very good couple of months for us despite going out of the Carling Cup we are unbeaten in the last 6 league games which 2 wins and 4 draws. The media expected us to be rooted to the bottom already so we are performing very well in contrast to all the predictions.

View attachment 28503

We are doing okay at the moment and if we carry on safety will be very plausible.

View attachment 28504

We are defending so well at the moment and that is down to
Matthew Kilgallon. The man has been an inspired signing so far and is the heartbeat of our defence.

ome great results there mate! Seriously keep it up! Who knows what can happen?

thanks mate and yeah we've made a really encouraging start but we are really struggling to create goals at times.

good job mate i am attempting the same with the mighty lions not going so well....................was wondering what skin you was using it looks good

good luck

how is Barazite(can u post a screen shot of him if u do not mind)
and great story u are doing well it gonna be difficult to stay in the prem..........

Barazite has done okay, he has still in the Arsenal reserves. I made a bid for him but they wanted 5M and I wasn't willing. His stats haven't increased to great heights which is a shame but he is still a fairly decent player.
