Its interesting to see the mixed results people are having with this tactic. I'm in my second season with Thurrock having won promotion to the Conference by winning the league. I've just started to use the methods contained in the Wolfgang's team talk thread after a shaky start to the new season and performances are improving.

Bearing in mind I have just relied on my assistant's recommendations for buying players and not the recommended filters, my results have been good. I do seem to struggle at home though from time to time.

The ethos I have adopted which has served me well in this Thurrock game is pre-season use team blend on very high. When all bars are fluid drop down to average. Use the principles in the Wolfgang team talk thread (I have written down all the scenarios for quick reference). When playing lower leagues your unlikely to get anywhere near the attributes required for each position. My assistant has 11 for judging player ability but one of my coaches has 13 so I use my coach to further assess any recommendations. Its not ideal, but so far most of the players I have brought in have been good (check your team report to see recommendations btw for those who don't know).

I'll be doing a thread on this Thurrock game specifically to try and get users of this tactic to share their ideas and successes.

Questions I'd like answered are:

Has anyone had success with a bigger pitch size than the minimum specification recommended?

Any tweaks people have made that has improved the tactic in any way i.e. tactic used for home and away?

No offence to those who say the tactic is rubbish and are suffering heavy defeats, but this tactic is effective. It must be if i'm not even using players with the required stats and still winning with Thurrock of all teams! Pre-season I think is absolutely key. Get it right and your off to a winning start!

Update
----------

Since utilising wolfgang's teamtalk my record is as follows P14 W9 D1 L4

Impressive when you consider my form was pretty erratic before that. Incidently one of the above loss was to Brentford in the cup so that doesn't really count as their 2 leagues above me.....food thought people

Somthing is compleatly wrong with set pieces i used to score loads of conners on a different tactic andd when i use this one i don't even come close. the crosses are shocking. Every other aspect of the tactic is good well done man.

That's weird they work amazingly for me. Corner taker good at corners and anticipation, + tall CBs with good off the ball, heading and jumping? I get probably on average 1 goal every game from the near post corners.

After the success of this tactic I have been working on a 4-2-3-1 Wingers formation as alot of people enjoy playing that formation and I will be releasing soon

The 3 guys up front..

Has anyone found better sucess playing a pacey left/right winger on either side of a centre forward instead of 3 all-out strikers?

Currently using a centre midfielder with good long shots + Defensive midfielder in the center and put my wingers upfront to make use of them.

On its day, this can be a very good tactic, however im using it on a very weak Newcastle United team in the EML, so results can vary.

I'm having a bit of an unsteady time with this tactic. Been playing with Sunderland and am in my second season.

Used it in my first season and managed to finish 8th. Which with the amount of injuries and suspensions I was getting and with my paper thin squad was pretty good, Was playing a few usless reserves at CB and my reserve GK played upfront in a game. So yes 8th was good.

Now in my second season and think I have strengthened well, however am having mixed luck with results.

Villa Home - Won 3-1
West Brom Away - WIN 2-0
Liverpool Home - LOSS 3-1
Arsenal Home - Draw 2-2 2-0 Up at half time
Fulham Away - Draw 2-2 2-0 Down in 8 minutes, this was my network partner aswell
Man City Home - Lost 1-4
Birmingham Away - WON 3-1
Bolton Away - Lost 3-1

Now for my team: I have a few injuries normally would play the With Neymar upfront and Carlos Vela, but they are out for 3-4 months each so will not put them in.

So my general 1st team which has featured this season is as follows:

GK : Craig Gorden
DL : Bardlsley
DR : Serge aurier
CB : Nicolas N'Koulou
CB : Onhuca (man city X player)
DMC : Cattermole
RCM : Paulo Henrique
LCM : Biligia
LST : Garra Dembele
CST : Gyan
RST : Vclav

On the bench I generall have:

Malbranque
Jordan Henderson
Jack Colback
Keiron Richardson
Marcos Angeleri
Titus Bramble
Michael Turner
Simon Mingolet
Kriakos Popodopolas

I understand this season my team differs from the first with a new CB / RB / MC and atm 2 different strikers. Dont know if i need another 6-10 games to balance the team and have them playing together.

I just cant see how the team can vary that much in the results ?

Help is appreciated.

For people who are having difficulties give this varient of my tactic a try, it includes the right sided striker changed to the AMR position - all of this attributes have changed and it seems to work really well - give it a try and see how you get on

p.s Anyone want to Beta test my 4-2-3-1?

Aldershot observations

Started using this after a horrific start to my league 1 season with Aldershot- Was using JP Woody's Anti-Football.

Took a while for Brobs tactic to settle but then a 6 games winning streak and an FA cup run to the 5th round (lost 3-2 to spurs) got me out of relegation zone.

Then I began a sequence where I drew five games (admittedly against good opposition) and then results deteriorated and despite playing well we couldn't buy a win. I have moved to clough tactics for now and results have improved drastically.

I do like this tactic though (some beautiful passages of play even for aldershot!) and with a good team im sure it would work wonders. I followed the OP to the letter but noticed that I was especially susceptible to balls delivered into the box from wide areas. Also I had an atrocious disciplinary record! Scorring was not the problem it was keeping a clean sheet! The team really upped their game in the FA cup weirdly.

Is there any way of bolstering the defence without compromising the tactic? Or was I doing something wrong?

Lowering the defensive line two notches has worked pretty well for my Oldham Athletic 2017 Premier League team. More stable results and it seems also fewer red cards which used to be big problem the first season with this tactic.

all i've put a detailed post on the forum about one of Brobs earlier tactics (unbeaten) using the formula i've gone four seasons now on the trot winning pretty much everything every year......i'm trying to build a tactical master class on beating to opposition managers / tactics.....its not 100% there yet....but i'm averaging 100+ goals for and about 20 against a season.....have a look at this please and provide feedback.

Well i have to say this tactic has been very impressive for me so far.

The scenario was, second season in the Prem with Burnley, after a great first season, finishing 9th, the expectations were up, a top half finish being the minimum.

Typically, second season syndrome had set in, and i was really struggling to get the team going, despite strengthening, my 4-1-2-1-2 was just not holding up anymore, thought i'd give this a go, and so far, it's been brilliant. Having said that i did have a 7 match run in which i played Man City, Everton, Man Utd, Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea, which certainly accounted for the poor start, however it's the overall performances and chance creating that have really been boosted.

Was sitting 15th when i started using it, first match was a 4-2 win against Tottenham, which was followed by a loss to Arsenal, then a loss to Chelsea, but obviously with the team needing time to settle into the tactic i stuck with it. Since that Chelsea match i've now gone on a 7 match winning streak in the league which has propelled us from 15th to 6th, 22 games in.

So it seems to be working very well, and this is at an ok club in the top league of the game, certainly the most competetive, so i imagine it would be amazing for a top 4 team!

After 5 seasons with Arsenal (won 4 leagues come 2nd once, 2 CL, 4 FA cups, 4 league cups), and only spending about £60m in that entire time, I have some feedback on the weaknesses.

This tactic struggles only in very specific conditions. If all my players are fit, then sometimes I will draw but miss a load of CCCs. The very few times I get 0 CCCs and draw, or even lose, is then the opposition plays a very deep and narrow. The one-twos that the strikers create for each other, to drag a CB away from his mark seem to struggle because the FBs take over. For any normal team it seems to work because its 3xST vs 2xCB, but with a packed defence (Everton playing 442 with 2DMs is an example) the players struggle to win.

Aside from that, in 5 years, I haven't deviated once, and my main challenges as always are replacing the team and giving my young guys enough match experience to improve without actually losing the important games. Tactically, if you have the players for the roles, this is a great tactic.

Hey, Im experiancing trouble. I'm doing everything asked. There is alot of trouble finding full backs for to the player requirements and i am conceding alot of goals. I am Newcastle and going to start over again any recomendations on who to buy? Or what to do?

I won the league first season with this tactic with newcastle. Players I bought were Milan Badelj, Garra Dembele, Christian Benitez, Sergio Araujo, Vaclav Kadlec, Tom Høgli(good rb for this tactic), Gabriel Mudingayi, Vincent Enyeama and also got Bassong for 4m £ cause tottenham offered him too me :) Collocini is useless with this tactic btw cause hes so bad at jumpin/heading, so dont use him.

Latest update from my Thurrock game using this tactic.....just won another successive promotion! Now in league 2! I won the playoff final at Wembley and have not changed the tactic in any way. The biggest change I've made to the way I manage is to use Wolfgang's teamtalks. I can't stress enough how important this side of things is to success. I'll post a thread up detailing my career so far and to prove that with the right signings and correct management...this tactic works a treat!

Hey people.......

Now i know that i am Barcelona.....Fair enough......But i was getting really ****** off with this game because i just could not find a decent tactic, downloaded or created by myself, so i downloaded this. I am only in my first season but OH MY GOD !! I am currently on a 58 match unbeaten run taking the SuperCup, World Club Championship, Spanish Cup in along the way. 3 victories over Real Madrid with one of the league games to go and a Champions League Semi against Manchester United to come..........Oh yeah, i am 17 points clear at the top of the league with a game in hand as well.

I know this is not really something to gloat about with Barca but i know there are plenty of people out there that just want to WIN SOMETHING !! If that is you then try this tactic................FOOKIN SUPERB !!!!

Massive Kudos to the creator !!

First, sorry my bad English, i'm spanish. This is of Google Traductor xD

The tactic is not so good, I with my Lille, not going well, I 2 º losing easy games as against Valenciennes and Nice, and draws against bottom club in the league.

My lineup:

-Landreau

-Debuchy-Rami-Juhasz/Chedjou - Beria

-Mavuva
-Hazard-Cabaye

Christian Benitez-Sow-Gameiro

Jornada (league) 20

Any help?

Thank you very much in advance!

PD: Fault many hands and my hands and make mistakes silly defenses: facepalm:
