Hey. I wouldn't say the difference was huge but it shifted the scoring responsibility from AML/R more to the ST and AMC roles and they are usually better at finishing than wingers.
I've noticed that my fullbacks and wingers did a lot of crosses targeted at far post at my other winger and my AML/Rs usually suck at heading plus its hard to score from this angle. So first change was forcing my Fullbacks and Wingers to cross at the center of the box. Now the cross recipients are either ST or AMC, sometimes even MC moving inside the box. The angle is much better now and players in those roles usually have a little better heading/finishing stat. This of course is taking some chances to score from AML/R but its giving much more changes to ST and AMC. Now the second change was moving the AMC back behind the striker and not to his left. Originally he acted more like a Second Striker moving to play next to the ST and he was usually covered by 1 CB and ST was covered by the other. With my tweak vs teams playing with 2 CBs both are now often drawn to cover the lone ST sometimes leaving the AMC wide open or to be marked by a midfielder which is usually much worse at marking/tackling than a CB plus he often have to choose between covering my AMC or the MCs that are moving in from outside the box. I will put some screenshots later from the game.

To give some examples.

Example 1:

Cross from right wing, both CBs are marking ST now, AMC is marked by a midfielder.

Example 2

Cross from left wing, both CBs are again marking the ST, AMC just lost the Midfielder who had to choose between marking him and the right MC

Example 3

Again 1 MC is left to cover 3 guys and obviously he is covering none.

Try it if you like. Should be more consistant.

So I've been doing some testing by using some different teams in pre-seasons and I've found that this tactic is at its best with a left footer on the left and a rightie on the right OR one inverted footer on a wing with the other wing being someone with the same foot as the corresponding wing.

Inverted footers on both wings have not been as effective. I still score goals but the wingers contribute a lot less stat-wise. They either cut inside and continuously pass between themselves and the CMs or run to the backline, cut in, and try to shoot from a weird angle shooting either at the GK or getting their shot blocked. The fact they also dribble inside means they're getting into the space of the Shadow Striker, causing the CAM to barely feature. This does seem to apply mainly to wingers who have the 'cut inside from the X-side' trait. Someone like Hazard for example does perfectly fine cause he lacks the trait.

Hopefully someone can verify this as pre-season tends to be only a couple of games usually.

Note: The underachieving Málaga is due to poor squad building. As I wrote earlier I've only signed a couple of free transfers every season. And since I haven't care about their age 13 out of 24 Málaga-players this season were 30+. Now it's only one season left with this "sloppy" squad building method. The team thad I feel overachieve the most out of Brentford and Marítimo I will play more seriously with from season 6 and on. At least give it two-three serious years and see if I can take the team to the next level.

Works great for me! Only downside is that stronger opponents beat me too easy. It makes sense that they beat me but I litteraly have nothing to say against them. Tried different things with tweaks but nothing really works.. are there any common tips for away matches to try? If I change the counterpress to regroup I just get dominated. I believe changing the fullbacks to defend and the tactic on balanced works best so far. But still looking to improve

Amazing tatic!!!
Playing Watford I was Third place first season. After I won the Premier League (second season). And now I bit the real madrid in UCL 2 times ( 4x1 home, 2x1 away). My only problem its the AMC.. he is so much inconsistent. my players AMC = Aouar, Thiago Almanda and Bellingham

Just finished 2nd season with Crewe using my small tweak version.

We also managed to beat the all time league record for:
Most games won
Most goals scored
Most points
Most clean sheets
Longest unbeaten run

Btw this tactic was scored 16 overall in the tactic test despite beign:
Elite: 16
Top: 17
Good: 16
Average: 18
Poor: 19

Magic math or what?!

Also the only tactic not droping below 16 in ANY category!

I'm not sure why that would be. This tactic has been sheer amazing for me. Only tactic I have found so far that is consistent and keeps good possession while also keeping a lot of clean sheets.
