Wigan 1 - 1 Chelsea
r458042_2243749.jpg

Chelsea were disappointing today against a strong Wigan side, who took advantage of Chelsea's dip in confidence, and number of injuries to get a point today.

Chelsea controlled the first half and even had a goal disallowed for Kalou which has since been shown as a goal. But they lacked any real energy and flair, with Deco far from the character he has been in the past few weeks.

In the second half, Deco came off for Joe Cole, who scored a brilliant goal midweek, but he couldn't fire Chelsea into their top gear, despite his best efforts.

And late in the game, Wigan pounced forward with Koumas dropping a great cross into the box which N'Zogbia caught well on the volley straight at Cech, but the parry fell right to the feet of Jason Scotland who converted easily.

And Chelsea left it even later, equalising in the 94th minute with a fantastic Frank Lampard free-kick, straight out of the top drawer, and a real saviour for them in the end, after a poor showing puts them now 4th in the league table.

This layout is fantastic mate and will get you many followers including me! Bad Luck with the injuries but you have solid back up. I dont know why but I love big team stories and this is one of the best I've read! If you have the time could you take a look at both my stories? The link is in my sig!

Well everyone says that playing with the big teams is easy, but I think it's harder than most people get credit for, I find it harder than taking small teams up the divisions. but my aim is to win as many competitions I can and stay as manager for long term like Ferguson, think it should be fun.
Suffering a set-back at the moment, but we should be able to recover.
Cheers mate, I'd love to. I have read your port vale one, and I'll have a gander at your liverpool one too :) keep reading this, Chelsea vs. Man United is coming up - a must win.

i love the layout especially the games where u put the commentry on e.g the Liverpool Vs chelsea game. it is like watch the vidiprinter on the bbc website...... and ur doing very well at the moment..

AZ Alkmaar 2 - 2 Chelsea
00123fc5bdb70a0e392709.jpg

AZ Alkmaar players celebrated as Chelsea threw a 2-0 lead away in the second half.

Chelsea looked comfortable enough, playing in a new formation, which allowed Malouda to play out on the left wing for the first time this season, and he looked more than comfortable out there, creating all sorts of havoc for the Alkmaar defence.

And it was from his cross that Chelsea got the opener. He opened up space on the left side, before curling a delightful ball in to Anelka who powered a header into the roof of the net.

And before long Chelsea were 2-0 ahead, and looking comfortable. Zhirkov swung a brilliant left footed cross into the 6-yard box, causing havoc, and Deco capitalised swinging a foot at the ball, and putting it into the back of the net.

And everything went downhill in the second half, with the substitution of Florent Malouda, who had picked up an injury in the first half. Paulo Ferreira replaced him, and became the villain of the game.

Van Heerden crossed a brilliant ball into the box where Dembele beat Ferreira to the ball to head into Cech's far corner late on, to give AZ some hope.

And in the 90th minute, Dembele broke free down the right hand side, before being fouled by Paulo Ferreira who subsequently got a yellow card, and Maartens converted the spot kick to complete a dramatic comeback.

Chelsea are going to have to improve and quick if they are to keep up the pressure on all fronts.

don't speak to soon mate, we're on a shocking run of form. got villa and manchester united next and we really need to hit the ground running, or we're going to be in trouble. it's all these **** injuries I keep getting! so annoying, but that's football I suppose.

thanks mate, I do it for the games that the computer says are televised, so that will be the next two games as well :) keep following, and leave comments if you don't mind

CHELSEA SUFFER TWO MORE CRITICAL INJURIES

Petr Cech and Branislav Ivanovic have both suffered injuries in training this week, and will be out for the next 4 weeks. This rules them out of the game against Manchester United, and with Chelsea's fortunes already taking an early turn for the worst, is this going to be an early blow to their title hopes or can they rally?

Unlucky mate with the amount of injury's you have... Luckily Chelsea have strength in depth which so you should have strong backup when required, KIU.

Seriously mate what training are you using? You are getting a lot of injuries!

i lied actually, those werent training injuries, those were on international duty. that's where the majority of them come from. and I'm using Tug's training schedule.

Live Text Commentary

15:30: Well Chelsea have been on a poor run of form of late, drawing 2 and losing 1 in their last 3 games and will really need a win here today.
15:42: And they've made a number of changes to the team that played against AZ Alkmaar, returning to the 4-1-2-1-2 formation:
Chelsea: Hilario, Bosingwa, Zhirkov, Rodwell, Carvalho, Mikel, Lampard, Essien, Ballack, Anelka, Drogba
16:00: And they're away; Chelsea really need a win today.
16:09: Villa start the brighter side, and Agbonlahor breaks free of Rodwell, but his shot is straight at Hilario.
16:27: Incredibly, two players are off the pitch with injuries now: Mikel and Bosingwa. But that doesn't stop Drogba breaking away and unleashing a ferocious 25 yard shot, but Friedel equals it.
16:29: OH! That was so close. Milner plays a fantastic ball over the top of Rodwell and Heskey unleashes an absolute monster but it smashes right off the woodwork.
16:41: Ballack breaks through but miscues his shot, and it goes well over the bar.
16:47: HALF TIME Chelsea 0 - 0 Aston Villa Chelsea seem to be worryingly short of ideas at the moment.
17:00 Joe Cole comes on for Ballack, who has picked up yet another knock. And away we go.
17:05: Lampard hits a nice strike, and Friedel punches it over for a corner, but Rodwell heads it just over.
17:07: Lampard plays in a free kick, and it bounces around in the six yard box for a while, before Friedel can come and collect it.
17:12: Drogba lets Essien in, but his shot goes wide. Demba Ba comes on for Nicolas Anelka.
17:18: GOAL Chelsea 1 - 0 Aston Villa And the substitution works wonders: Ba pulls out wide left, and collects the ball from Joe Cole, before dinking a beautiful ball into the box for Drogba to simply head into the net.
17:19: Well the Aston Villa fans are saying that there was a foul there on Brad Friedel, but the referee isn't having any of it.
17:25: Drogba and Cole are playing really well together up front, and the latter breaks free in the box, but Friedel saves well.
17:28: This is turning into a game now! Heskey fires in on Hilario who can only punch the ball over. Alex replaces Lampard.
17:35: Chelsea get another corner, but Mikel heads it over. They don't convert enough of these corners, because they are of real quality every time they come in.
17:49: Well that would have been real, real late drama. Hilario takes a goal kick in the 95th minute of the game, and it's head forward by Reo-Coker to Agbonlahor who is well clear of the Chelsea defence but his finish is woeful
17:50: FULL TIME Chelsea 1 - 0 Aston Villa And boy will Chelsea be glad to hear that whistle, and it's a first 3 points in 3 games. They'll have to build on this now, and who better to play next than Manchester United? Join us after the international break for that Super Sunday special.

Didier-Drogba-celebrates--001.jpg

Drogba finally scored for Chelsea an hour into the game and won the match.

Good result against Villa always seem to be a challenge whenever I'm against them.

I found it too. It's so annoying as well at the moment, because I'm not able to play the same team two games in a row, because one of them gets injured, and we lose consistency all the time. Hopefully they'll be a couple of months where we're just clean, or I'm going to have to buy in January

CHELSEA VS. MANCHESTER UNITED, 12:45 THIS SATURDAY

Live on skysports, the champions go head to head with Chelsea in a game which could really decide these two clubs futures this season.

Instead of double posting all the time mate you could edit your posts it looks a lot tidier! Good luck against Man United

Live Text Commentary

12:00: Welcome readers, and it's a huge game today with both teams really needing a win. Chelsea are now 5th and really need a resurgence, but Sir Alex Ferguson's United side are currently 10th and so there is a lot on this game.
12:10: Chelsea are still missing a number of players, although captain John Terry should be back sometime this month, which is a bonus for them. They are still without Petr Cech however, and Hilario will be starting today.
12:15: No such problems for Manchester United as they field what is pretty much a full-strength side.
12:27: The Chelsea squad list is coming in now from the manager:
Chelsea: Hilario, Bosingwa, Zhirkov, Alex, Carvalho, Mikel, Essien, Lampard, J. Cole, Drogba, Ba
12:30: Well it's the first time Drogba and Ba have started together, and it's also a first start for Joe Cole, who impressed in the second half against Aston Villa.
12:45: This match is underway. Hold tight, readers!
12:51: Chelsea have the first chance, and it's a flash shot from Drogba, but it goes just over van der Sar's bar.
12:55: GOAL Chelsea 1 - 0 Manchester United It's game on already, and it's that man Drogba. Chelsea earn a free-kick after a foul by Scholes on Joe Cole, and he plays in Didier Drogba who fires right into the corner of the net from outside of the box.
12:58: GOAL Chelsea 2 - 0 Manchester United What a fantastic goal, and it's all Joe Cole here. He is played in from the right by Essien, and turns his man before finding Drogba free in the area who buries it past van der Sar. What a start for Chelsea.
13:06: Drogba is just hungry for more. Great work from Lampard, and Drogba finds space again but van der Sar reacts well.
13:08: GOAL Chelsea 2 - 1 Manchester United Chelsea are caught on the counter-attack, as Rooney breaks from a corner, before floating a brilliant cross field ball to Federico Macheda who tucks it past Hilario.
13:20: And Demba Ba is the latest to pick up an injury. He's struggling out there. Meanwhile Lampard wins Chelsea a corner after great work from Zhirkov.
13:30: RED CARD Woah, who saw that coming? Manchester United look to break again after a Chelsea corner, but Wayne Rooney is too hasty in his tackle against Zhirkov and United are down to ten men right on half time.
13:32: HALF TIME Chelsea 2 - 1 Manchester United Chelsea should win this now, with MAnchester United down to ten men, and having lost their best player.
13:45: The second half's underway.
13:59: Zhirkov should have scored there. A Chelsea throw in is switched across the field by Joe Cole to Zhirkov who breaks free but hits it towards the near post, and van der Sar saves comfortably.
14:10: Salomon Kalou joins the fray for the injured Ba.
14:12: Joe Cole is starting to look a little leggy and comes off for Gael Kakuta.
14:15: Incredible. Chelsea break through Lampard, and the ball is played in by Zhirkov to Kakuta who hits an unbelievable shot but it hits off the crossbar and smacks directly off the line and is cleared by Ferdinand. So unlucky for the 18 year old.
14:17: He's loving it out there, this kid. Kakuta hits another screamer, and van der Sar is caught out of position but it just clips the right hand post and goes out. Wonderful stuff.
14:19: And at the other end, Hilario keeps Chelsea in the game. Carvalho loses concentration and lets Macheda in, who did brilliantly but hit his shot at the legs of the Chelsea goalkeeper.
14:21: Kakuta is at the heart of everything here. He slips a brilliant ball through to Essien, but his shot is saved by van der Sar. Only to come out to Kakuta who dodges a tackle from Ferdinand and hits a shot across goal and its parried wide by the struggling goalkeeper.
14:23: Delightful corner from Kakuta and Alex gets the merest glance on it, but Neville is covering the far post and just manges to get a toe on it to safety.
14:26: GOAL Chelsea 3 - 1 Manchester United Would you believe that! That is an absolutely stunning goal, and it may seem like I've been exaggerating here, but this kid has just shown what ability he has. Essien and Zhirkov exchanged passes before playing in Gael Kakuta who dodges a tackle from Fletcher before firing in an absolute rocket. Game, set, match for Chelsea. And didn't he just deserve it?
14:31: FULL TIME Chelsea 3 - 1 Manchester United Well how about that for a storyline! 18 year old Gael Kakuta takes all the pundits from this game, after a brilliant half an hour on the pitch. Chelsea take a vital 3 points against 10 man Manchester United and that is a timely booster for the blues.

gael_kakuta_1535244c.jpg

18 year old Gael Kakuta can hardly believe it after scoring the winner against Man Utd.

Well done on beating United mate you can win the league!

such a nervy game there. I'll take your advice on board about the double-messaging. Didn't realise it did it ha.
how about that though ey? Gael kakuta, such a little legend.

u should win the league after those two perfomances and look like kakuta will be a good player in the future

little early for that maybe.
tottenham and liverpool are 2 points ahead of me at the top, I am currently 3rd. Only October now so, we'll have to wait and see.

a good read so far... quite a few injuries, remember on my game it was mikel who always got butchered on the pitch and out for 3-4 weeks every 4 monthsor so.
As someone mentioned earlier kakuta will develop into a decent player, same goes for mancienne, sturridge, bertrand and prosenik... latter 2 probably not good enough for 1st team, but good as backup
