Congrats Al, how many did Guilherme score?
I thought he got into the twenty's at least :S

Thanks dmf, I thought he scored more than that as well, but in the league he scored 11 in 12 which is a ****** decent ratio.

CSKA HANDED TOUGH CHAMPIONS LEAGUE DRAW
Manchester United V AC Milan
Besiktas V Liverpool
Chelsea V Sevilla
Barcelona V Inter Milan
Bayern Munich V Arsenal
Shaktar Donetsk V Real Madrid
Rangers V AZ Alkmar
CSKA Moscow V Juventus

It is a tough draw to have but with our performances so far this season I have complete faith that the team will put in 100% and do themselves proud.

BOARD SET HIGH EXPECTATIONS!

The CSKA board have today announced that the minimum league expectation for Alex Whitehouse in the upcoming season is to win the title. The board are willing to pay handsomely in order to win the league but it is up to Whitehouse whether he spends this money wisely or not. He told gathering journalists ''I can guarantee that we will finish top this season, I have big plans with the money the board have made available for transfer funds and I will pay them back with a league championship''

The Bookmakers are also in agreement that Whitehouse will lead CSKA to a second consecutive league title making them favourites to lift the Russian Premier Division.

Since the tough Champions League draw, CSKA's odds of lifting the Champions league have drifted out from 18-1 to 27-1 claiming that Whitehouse's side do not have enough about them to beat the ''Old Lady''

WHITEHOUSE ANNOUNCES TRANSFER INTENTIONS!!

Today manager Alex Whitehouse gave gathering journalists a hint as to who he is looking at to strengthen his CSKA Moscow side this transfer window.
''I am looking to boost the defence so I will be looking for a left back and a centre back. I am also looking for a powerful striker who isn't afraid to put his body on the line to not only partner Guilherme but to also teach Traore a few tricks of the trade.''

Bookmakers immediately announced who they believe are the 3 favourites to sign for the Russian club this month:

Joe Mattock - This man is likely to sign for the Russian club as he has recently stated that he wants to further his career and playing in Europe will do this.

Nicolas Otamendi - Probably the least likely of the main 3 targets to sign as he only signed for Zenit St Petersburg one season ago. Whitehouse will do what he he can to bring in the Argentine defender

Artem Milevskyi - Whitehouse has said many times that he is a big fan of the young big striker. It is rumoured Dynamo Kiev will be looking for at least £10m for the big man.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FIRST KNOCKOUT ROUND:

View attachment 28584

In what was always going to be a tough game, we were unfortunate not to grind out a result here but in the end Juventus ultimately proved a bit too good for us. However this game did give us good hope going into the second leg in Turin

View attachment 28585

Absolutely gutted. This was a top performance from our boys and we were only 1 goal away from making the Quarter Finals. I took the advice of Shootie and man marked Diego and played a deep defensive line and it so almost played dividends. The frustrating things about this were that in the 92nd minute Guilherme was taken out whilst clean through on goal and nothing was given - Also if we had won our Quarter Final would have been against Rangers in which I would have been very confident in gaining victory.

Ah so unlucky mate, I hate when your players are taken out as last man and the ref only gives a yellow or nothing at all. Something SI should fix in 10.3. Anyway looking good so far keep it up. (H)

I don't know if anyone is still even following this :S Either way, pre-season update tonight.

---------- Post added at 06:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:18 PM ----------

Sorry lads, no update till later on tonight now - Probably at about 10:00pm.

Ok due to the site being down I have a fair bit to update. SO here we go:

PRE-SEASON

TRANSFERS:

I am very happy with these transfers (All on 48 month deals) and they will only help strengthen the squad. The 2 signings I am delighted with are the ones of Milevskyi and of Felipe - 2 players of whom I am a very big fan of and I feel that they will play massive roles this season.

Going into the start of the season, this is what our squad looked like. I for one and ecstatic with the strength of our squad now, especially due to the fact that we have a couple of utility players in our team that can play in several positions. All of the squad will now be eligible for the Champions League next season - My aim for this competition is to reach the Quarter Finals at least, anything more I will be chuffed to bits with. Again the league and cup expectations are to win both of these tournaments.

RUSSIAN SUPER CUP FINAL

I feel that this game really sums up the general improvement in this team within the last 12 months - This time last year we beat the same team in the same match 1-0 in the 119th minute. Now we ran out very comfortable winners and the new signings look as if they are settling in very well, Felipe and Milevskyi especially. I expect them both to have a very good season.

SEASON BEGINS WITH CSKA FANS IN HIGH HOPES...

The new season started with high hopes and these hopes were fully justified with a very confident from the CSKA playing staff today - Zuculini and Dzagoev bringing home the goods but I am disappointed with yet another sending off, at the moment we are getting players sent off far too much and I am worried that it will come back to haunt us. I am struggling to install a bit of discipline at the moment.

Another efficient performance from our boys which saw us go top of the table, goals from new signings Milevskyi and O'Shea to see us run out comfortable winners. With around 4 new signings I was a bit concerned about how quickly they would adapt to the Russian League - However they have hit the ground running and I am very pleased with how we are fared so far.

Yes we had another sending off but we really should have taken our chances, we should have been far out of sight by the time we went down to 10 men. Obviously it is disappointing but the next game in the league will really show how far we have come in the 12 months since I have been here.

Current League Position: 2nd (Table to be posted next update)

Well done Al, pricey signing in Milevskyi, but I'm sure he'll be worth every penny.

Yeah very pricey, but I needed an out and out goalscorer and he is adpating well in a new league so I am happy.

Just found this story, it caught my eye as I'm currently playing in Russia too. Enjoying it so far, keep it up buddy. :)

Milevskyi is going to prove a great signing.

Thanks a lot mate, yeah your story caught my eye but I have never gave it a full read so that is how I'll be spending my next 10 minutes or so ;) But yea the hefty fee for Milevskyi is proving dividends so far - He was the exact player I needed to partner Guilherme upfront and I am confident he will provide the goods. Glad you like it and hope you keep following :)

Update to come shortly - If anyone wants to see any additional screenshots in the next update let me know :)

APRIL UPDATE

Our first game of the month was a very tough game away to Zenit, this game last season we also drew this one 1-1. I am a bit gutted that they scored their 91st minute but if you had offered me a point before the game would I have taken it? You bet, I would have biten your hand off for it. Yet again though it is Guilherme producing the goods.

I couldn't really have asked for a tougher start to the month to be honest. But in my eyes the players have passed both tests with flying colours. This was a superb result against a very strong Rubin side. But again our side saw red so installing further discipline will be one of my main aims over the coming weeks.

Russian Cup - Quarter Final: Good result because we were without a few first teamers, although it went longer than I was hoping for by going to extra time I am confident that this will not affect the players in the next few games. MIlevskyi put in a brilliant performance and I am very happy with the way he is settling into the new country.

A really scintilating and stunning performance today - Yes they have only just been promoted but they were promoted because they are a good side who can prove a stern test to anyone on their day. Mamaev, Dzagoev and Milevskyi producing the goods with Mamaev grabbing himself a deserved man of the match and a solid 8.9 match rating.

A game against close rivals, no Sandro, no Felipe, despite this I was looking for a solid defensive performance and the stand in players duly delivered. Another cracking performance and we are really starting to turn the heat up in the title race now.

This league is so close but my 2 main challengers are the last teams you'd expect. I thought that last season was a fluke from Saturn, but clearly not because yet again they are flying high in the league.

I thought this would be interesting to see, this unbeaten league run has seen us set a new record in the league and I am looking to extend this run for a good few games yet although our next game is a toughie against close rivals Spartak Moscow.

WHITEHOUSE PLANS SCOUTING OPERATION
Due to CSKA's recent injury troubles, their squad is down to the bare bones - With the Russian FA not helping the cause with the restrictions on foreign players in the starting line up Whitehouse has had to line up new talent from clubs around the country. With this in mind, today he had a complete rejig of his scouting set up by terminating all of his existing scouts contracts (The number of scouts totalled 2) and with the board allowing Whitehouse to have a maximum of 11 scouts at his disposal he began his quest to find new talent both on and off the field.

Immediately after terminating contracts, Whitehouse headed to the scouting market to see if there were any scouts available - He was thorough in his search and he was not concerned about their reputation. His search finished by bringing in several scouts - One of whom has a judging player ability and potential of 20 each. Straight away this scout has been sent on a trip to Russia in the search for young talent should the club find themselves in further injury troubles - This way the current Russian Champions would hopefully find the future of Russian football. Will this quest prove successful? Read the next edition to find out.

Alex Whitehouse was speaking to an anonymous Daily Mirror reporter.

Nice results :D. That Russian in strating 11 rule must be getting on your ****, it would for me aswell. But im a fan of homegrown players so I like your little scouting reform.

You think you got no followers -_-...my story dosent even get a click anymore lol.

Thanks mate, yeah it is slightly frustrating but it gives the youth a chance :) And also allows me to dedicate an elaborate post to a scouting mission for youth ;) I'm sure you still have followers mate, it is a good story.

Sorry about no updates for a couple of hours lads - I have been giving my FM a much needed makeover with the facepacks, skins etc from the site. An update is due very shortly...

MAY UPDATE...

After all the cries of a potentially unbeaten season - We came up against our bogey side, Spartak Moscow. They are very inconsistent as a side, they lose to the poor sides in the league but they beat the big sides. And unfortunately, we are a very big side. Hopefully in the next game we will exact our revenge in the cup semi final.

View attachment 30031

Russian Cup - Semi Final: And revenge was taken place, but only just and not without a fright too. Again this side have had a slow start to the season finding themselves 12 points behind me at the top already. But I am sure the best of this Spartak side is yet to come and we have come away with a tremendous win today.

View attachment 30030

A really stunning performance from our lads this evening, we passed, we moved, we scored, we tackled and we battled. All of the things I could have asked for we produced. Milevskyi looks like he is really settling now.

View attachment 30037

Belaid and Milevskyi again were fantastic today. I am running out of superlatives to describe my Ukranian striker, he really is justifying why I paid £14m for him now. This shows that the side has come on leaps and bounds in the last few months.

View attachment 30029

We thoroughly deserved the win but yet again we get reduced to 10 men. Mamaev this time the culprit, we aren't even tackling aggressively - We have the worst disciplinary record in the league and it is something I am still looking at resolving. The positives however, Felipe produced a cracking display to give us 3 wins on the spin going into our big game away to Saturn...

View attachment 30033

Another very, very good win and performance today. Belaid and Milevskyi again providing the goals and Belaid really is coming through now and he is someone I will look to be utilising more as the season goes on. This win put us 3 points ahead of Saturn who are still right on our heels along with Zenit as you can see by the league table below.

Our next game is the Russian Cup Final against Dinamo Moscow - An update will be posted from this game shortly.

INJURY CRISIS ROCKS CSKA BEFORE CUP FINAL!!!

Two weeks before the cup final, CSKA were 5/4 to win it, however since their recent injury crisis with no Guilherme, Sandro, Akinfeev et al their odds drifted out to 9/4 however they were still favourites with Dinamo Moscow at 12/5.

With their injuries, CSKA put out a team which was expected with no real suprises. Dinamo went out very defensive which was the feeling amongst the majority of the press. The game kicked off with the sides set up like this.

AND THEY HAVE DONE IT!!! CSKA have won their second piece of silverware with a hard fought victory with Lacina Traore bagging the goal after coming on at half time for the injured Milevskyi.

Man of the match - Lacina Traore
Match rating - 7.56
