What schedule do i put my central defenders on?
Other then that, nice work :)

Hi Varpoxen,

Thanks for the support, for DC's you want the "DT Centrehalves" schedule.

Good luck!

Do you actually need seperate youth coaches? Been told they are just a waste since the youth players are getting trained by the regular coaches as well..

Hi Bomonti,

It's true that coaches train the youth team as well as the seniors (but the same isn't true of 1st team coaches), but check out their ability to "work with youngsters."

I know it sounds like I'm stating the obvious, but the trick is to get the maximum star rating for each coaching assignment. Using coaches to train both teams is the best way to do this if you aren't at a club with big resources and the board limit the number of coaches you can employ.

There are some good "coaching calculators" around, using Excel these show you the star rating for each assignment type when you plug in a coach's stats, check them out.

Hope that helps.:)

Yeah, recently downloaded a calculator and it works a treat, playing with Brentford and just survived my first season in the premiership. Trying to organise things even better now so sorted out the majority of my problems. Got 4 or 4.5 stars in all areas. But was under the impression that youth team coaches wasnt needed but still undecieded. Got any wise words on tutoring/learning, what are the differences inbetween the 3 options u can pick?

I never say never, if your financial resources are low and the board restricts you to a handful of coaches then sure avoid youth coaches (and avoid 1st team coaches too). But if you are at Chelsea and can employ 17-18 coaches then why not get specialist youth coaches? After all, remember it's the best of your youngest players who are most likely to improve... with the best coaching you could unearth a real gem! (Just look at the calibre of Man Utd's youth coaches for example).

Tbh, I'm not sure about tutoring either, it's hard to tell what improvements were made to a players stat's by tutoring alone. But, I don't believe it does them any harm either!

Good schedules, especially with my players aged 18-24.

Thanks mate, I'm pleased that you are benefiting from the schedules. It's true that the younger players always progress quicker, whilst the older (32+) players always deteriorate quicker. Please feel free to post screen shots on the thread.

I've been having some positive results in my "journeyman" game with a 2nd div' romanian team. I've been pleasantly surprised by how quickly I have seen improvements in stat's (after just 2 months) and this with 2.5 star coaching staff.
Screenshot 1 - Musat training as "DT Fullbacks" [6 attribute impovement in last month, August]
Screenshot 2 - Voican training as "DT Strikers (youth)" [5 attribute improvement in last month, August]

Having created some FM2010 training schedules for seniors and youths I am keen to see what people think.

Please take a look and let me know your thoughts (be critical, but more importantly be constructive!)

There are training schedules for most positions inc' Wingbacks and Targetmen.

Thanks.:)

I was using Tug's Training (with medium-good results, good for strikers, bad for wingers, good for central defenders), now I will try yours for a couple of seasons and will tell you.

is it me or that in fm 2010, player stats increase slower even with 4star+ coaches
i am using your training now.
been 2 month and most players have not increased a single stat

am playing manchester united with wonderkid like mario balotelli and pjanic...

Hi iamfengxiao,

Firstly, have you optimized the effect of your coaching staff by switching them off "all" and setting them up on their best assignment, this way you get the maximum star rating for each discipline?

Secondly, which two month period are you referring too? If it is the opening two months (i.e. June/July) then give it a third month... in my Arsenal save I saw improvements after three months. Remember, not every player is a wunderkind, but with Ballotelli and Pjanic I'd expect results.

If this still doesn't help then maybe this isn't the training schedule for you... not sure why it shouldn't work though?

Hope that helps.

i did that, i made sure my man utd coaches duties are all light and have 4 stars at least for each category at least. I am reaching December of my first season, and one of my player, Antonio Cassano, dropped like 5 stats during november and i was stunned.

And my training report are depressing even at december, only 2 of my reserve team players improved like 1 stats. None of my main players are improving any stats at all.

Maybe this training dont work with professional teams...

I will try this till end of season...

As you'll see from the earlier posts, I tested it with Arsenal over two seasons with positive results.. I've also had positive feedback from other users with teams such as Inter Milan, so I'd argue that it does work with some proffessional teams.

That said, I'm genuinely sorry that it's not working for you... I'll try and work out why that may be...

I have a question, I compared your GK training with Tugs, you trained goalkeeper ball control on high too? any reason?

Personally I believe that technique is as important a part of the goalkeepers make up as any other key attribute, reduces errors, etc... just look at Edwin Van Der Sar, probably one of the most comfortable keepers on the ball in world football.

Btw, I am just testing schedules with Man Utd, I've loaded a test database importing Balotelli, Cassano and Pjanic to the side. I'll post the details shortly.
