I will admit I didn't notice the rule which said about administration. I also didn't realise that our finances were quite as bad as they are in the update that Disclaimer is using.

I suspect I won't be the only one to end up in this position though. Villa may not have spent that much in terms of transfer fees, but they have put the best part of ?600k per week on their wage bill, so give it time and they'll be in administration too I'm sure!
transfer fees not very much! We spend 4m more than you and the wages. We will be in administration this month.

Didn't mean to cause any issues. Just wanted the issue to be seen as I think a lot of people would start using the same technique. What's the point in having a ?1million balance and then spending over ?40million on transfers?

Just seemed a bit daft to me. I'd have bought Ronaldo and Messi for hundreds of millions and happily took the 9 point 'deduction'.

Can't wait to see this update! I'm optimistic :) I wonder who'll win the sack race! Place ye' bets.
Lambert I'm saying. 19th in the league only due to Sunderland's administration and -5 goal difference. I'm the villa chairman by the way...

OMG! No point deduction! And out of the relegation zone due to 2 big wins vs palace and Sunderland.

Villa press conference

SSN: We all thought that you would have had a deduction! What happened?

Lewie: I have no idea! Must be something to do with lambert selling players.

SSN: On to other matters, 6 points in 6 games leaves you in an average 14th. What do you think of this?

Lewie: I find it is very good, considering the financial state of the club at the minute. Utd are massive underachievers at the minute while hull are overachievers.

Glad to see my signings doing the job
I won't be able to do any press conference as my computer died. Gonna try to fix it tomorrow but if I need to buy some new parts it will take maximum a week. Can comment via my phone

Stoke's Slow Start

BBC Sport:Currently sitting 16 th 1 point clear of the drop what do you have to say about that.

Stewart Meakin: It is not the ideal start to the season and if it is going to continue heads will role staff and player i demand 150% from every one at the club because there capable of better i want to see better.

BBC Sport: Dont you think your demanding a little bit to much from a team like stoke city.

Stewart Meakin: This is a team who have been it the premiership since 2008 and been in the Fa Cup final so i do not agree with your its my choice.

BBC Sport:
So how secure is mark Hughes job!

Stewart Meakin: I'm not willing to discuss that at this moment in time.

BBC Sport:Why not cant you give your manager any closure that his job is safe.

Stewart Meakin Storms Out
BBC Sport:If I was Mark Hughes i would start hoping for some good results Thats all from
Clayton Wood Where Mr Meakin was more like Miserable Meakin.

What Is happening To The Devils?

Manchester United seem unrecogniseable as of late. The club are even residing in the relegation zone at present! Sir Alex Ferguson left in the summer and Moyes has taken over only to guide the club nearer the Championship rather than the dizzying heights of the other end of the Premier League. Moyes has been asking for time and explaining that it may get worse before it gets better but if these results continue it may get worse for him as it's been made public that Mason is becoming frustrated that his manager isn't getting the best out of his players!

CANARIES BEAMING UP A BRIGHT MONTH

Norwich City manager Marco van Basten has revealed he is very pleased after the club picked up 7 points in September, propelling the team up the table. The side started with a hellish three matches against Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal with the East Anglian side losing all three games but they still managed to bounce back ? beating Hull and Fulham and drawing with Swansea at the Liberty Stadium.
Two of the club?s summer signings showed their talent as on-loan defender Joleon Lescott scored a brace against Hull and came 2nd in the player of the month standards. The signing of experienced forward Dirk Kuyt has also turned out to be a master class in transfer dealing with the former Liverpool player scoring three crucial goals this month.
Chairman Alan Partridge meanwhile admitted concern over record signing Christian Benteke, who has yet to score for Norwich, but was confident he?d turn it around.

Arnie content with life at Arsenal!

We caught up with him today and he had this to say!

I am very pleased with the results so far! we had a great August and I am very proud of the team! September wasn't as good but we are still up where we should be...The draw at home to Fulham frustrated me greatly!

We have a picture of Arnie at the full time whistle of that game!

Fulham make no signings and are 5th??? Kudos to Fulham's boss!!

Lost every game this update. Not good enough, Brendan. Will do my press conference tomorrow.

Swansea Enjoying Life Under Bergkamp

With the new premier league season kicking off last month, Swansea have not had long to adapt to the many changes that have happened around the club, despite a new chairman, new manager and a fairly new look squad, Swansea sit in a very respectable 9th place with 8 points from 6 games.

Bergkamp added this short statement:
" It is a start that is in parallel with our expectations this year, we can only inprove when the squad better know each other, it is an exciting time to be involved in this club. "

Yeah, seems the Fulham chairman and the spurs chairman haven't been interacting at all since taking over. Those two clubs may be up for grabs come January; for members who aren't currently in charge of a club.

Cardiff City - Life is tough in top division

Cardiff City are currently struggling to adapt to life in the Premier League, languishing in 19th position, being saved the embarrassment of 20th position through Sunderland having had a 9 points deduction. The chairman is said to be ?obviously disappointed? however he is aware ?it is a marathon not a sprint and no rash decisions will be made regarding Solskjaer?s employment?.

After a tough start to the season, with an away trip to Liverpool and a home tie against Arsenal, August was always expected to produce little points on the board. However there was optimism for September with games against Hull, Swansea, Palace and Wigan in the Carling Cup. One goal scored, ten conceded and no points show that it was another month to forget.

October brings games against West Ham, Sunderland and Man Utd so it is imperative that Cardiff start picking up points soon to remain in the Premier League, especially so that Sunderland and Man Utd are currently in the relegation zone with Cardiff.

Important first team players Steven Caulker and Younes Belhanda have just returned from injury which will hopefully provide a morale boost. It is hoped that Steven can sure up the leaky defence and that Younes will provide a creative spark and support Defoe and Rhodes in finding the net on a more regular basis.

The performances of Sam Byram, at right back, a young player purchased from Leeds in the summer, are one of the few positives Cardiff can draw on so far this season.

Hey mate.
I wrote both to you and in this thread, that I was on vacation when this started.
You confirmed that I was still chairman - so can I still be that?

Will make takeover in the winter - as I have made no changes until then.

Everton chairman Neville Southall has again spoken highly of manager Roberto Martinez has he try to turn around the club's fortunes after a poor start to this season, having only collected six points from a possible eighteen, and only one win so far, against Crystal Palace.
After a number of pre-season acquisitions, supporters had hoped for a smooth transition since David Moyes departure, having being named Sir Alex Ferguson chosen one.

NEWS: Chelsea's unbeaten run continues

Despite the early season problems, Nev gave the former Wigan and Swansea boss Martinez his support, he believes that his young team and manager just need time to settle and he hopes for the fans continued support.
"Roberto will sort it out. He has proven his abilities time and time again, we are still aiming to be within reach of the european places come January" Southall said on his Twitter account on Tuesday in response to a message from a supporter.
"I am relaxed and confident. Let's get all our players back in form and fit, then let's see.
"Keep calm. 6 games does not make a season. I have learnt from many wise chairman."

Southall inherited Martinez who had be appointed by the club from Wigan shortly after Moyes departure. The chairman has taken full control of this transfer window and Martinez has some tasty new blood thanks to his willingness to splash the cash.

Former Spanish captain Carlos Puyol signed from Barcelona, along with young catalunyan duo Alex Grimaldo and Jean-Marie Dongou.
Young Callum McManaman who showed good promise under Martinez's former club, Wigan, also defender Lucas Digne and Marco Verratti joined from PSG and a few more talents including Mason Bennett(Derby), Jem Karacan(Reading), Gabriel Barbosa(Santos).
Loans include Sergi Roberto and Giovinco, who all arrive on a season long loan, and I'm sure Martinez and Southall will be exploring the option to sign these three at the end of their loan.

After goals by Sebastian Giovinco and Kevin Mirallas had earned them a draw against Man United after Carlos Puyol received a second yellow card for a foul on Carrick. Questions were was asked on whether he thought Puyol would be given more game time to regain his confidence.
"We signed Puyol from Barcelona to be a rock at the back and he looks to be shaky at the moment but he has only recently joined us and we weren't expecting immediate fireworks, as he adapts to the english style. Besides he's a model pro and I don't expect this dip in form to affect him." Southall told reporters.

"We have had a big investment in the team this season and we're looking to improve on this poor start, and we will.

"It is very, very early days but until we get positive results on the board then obviously everything is up for debate and a focus begins to come on the club as a whole. We just need to start winning football matches. If we do that, it goes away, simple really, but we are patient as our new crop of players need time to gel"

Everton have however progressed in the League Cup with a convincing 3-0 win over Sunderland at The Stadium of Light, next run of games include a tough trip down the M1 to take on fourth place Spurs and Martinez and McManaman are looking forward to the arrival of Wigan in the fourth round of the League Cup. McManaman will be hoping he can play in this cup-tie, he hasn't made an appearance for Everton since arriving during pre-season.

"Callum is a young player and will have to be patient, we have the wingers in good form [Mirallas and McGeady]. Who knows he might get his chance in the cup game, we believe in trying to rotate the squad in order to keep players fit and fighting fresh.

Toffee fans can remain confident in this reporter's opinion.

Until next time...

summerbee talks about city start

reporter: so 15 points out of 18, is that better than you expected?

summerbee: expected? no. we know what were capable of and we are capable of getting all 18. we have done well though, were only second because of Chelsea having an amazing start also, but they haven't played a top team yet, while we have played arsenal and Liverpool

reporter: you mention the arsenal game, what do you think of that match?

summerbee: I was gutted, we battered them for 77 minutes, a dodgy red card and they beat us 3-2, I don't even know how it was still 1-1 until that point as we were by far the better team before that ******* wearing the black kit ****** up.

reporter: finally,i know you like attractive football, what has your opinion on citys style so far?

summerbee: beautiful, absolute beautiful. and I promise that it will only get better.
