New boss at Cardiff City

Roberto Mancini is enjoying his start to life in South Wales with a trip to the beach. Who knew the sun shined so much in south wales.

There has been a profusion of fun and games since Mancini has taken the reins at Cardiff, from donning a David Platt mask (he wasn?t fooling anyone) and preparing for his ventriloquist act at the Cardiff Docks. The show, ?The whimsical arbitrariness of autocracy? on Saturday 20th October, has received promising early reviews. They are lavishing praise on Mancini?s first foray into ventriloquism which explores plenty of the famous comings together with Balotelli from Manicini?s perspective. Tickets are ?5 on the day, entry from 7pm, show to start at 7.30pm sharp.

25% real fruit juice, fancy a chew?

The man brought in to oversea a more attacking style of football decided to sell his 2nd Goalkeeper without replacing him, however the 18 yr reserve from Montevideo has played in three games so far and kept three clean sheets. Selling the reserve goalkeeper was not the only bit of business he has done so far, selling his car and replacing it with two bikes.

[editor. note: you haven?t mentioned anything about Cardiff performances so far this season, other than a Mancini love-in]

Yeah, I must admit I have been a bit obsessive. but you can't blame me...

Press Release
August

A busy transfer window for Wolves saw 9 new faces join us permanently and 2 more sign on season long loans. Seven of these players were named in the match day squad for the season opener at home to Swansea. David Marshall, Wallace, Rio Ferdinand and Matej Vydra all made it in the starting eleven with Scott Parker, Anthony Pilkington and Graham Dorrans sitting on the bench. We quickly found out how big the step up from Championship to Premier League is when we found ourselves 2-0 down after only 15 minutes. Just after the second half started Swansea got their third and that was that. An opening day 3-0 defeat by Swansea.

Next game we travelled the short distance to Birmingham to take on local rivals Aston Villa. Apart from David Marshall missing through torn knee ligaments, the same team was sent out. Matej Vydra got his first goals for us as he hit a double in a 3-2 defeat. Anthony Pilkington came on after 77 minutes to make his debut after joining us from Norwich.

In a break from league competition we played Crawley in the 2nd round of the Capital One Cup. It takes an extra time winner from Matej Vydra for us to see off Crawley after Michael Jacobs had scored in normal time as the game finished 1-1 before our late winner sees us through to round 3 where we will meet Wigan.

To end the month we welcomed Arsenal to Molineux. And Arsenal put on a show unfortunately for us. Adam Le Fondre hit a goal on the stroke of half time to give us a little hope after being 2 down. Then four minutes into the second half Arsenal went down to 10 men and it looked like the we might be able to get something from the game but Arsenal just stepped up a gear and simply played us off the park scoring another couple to run out 4-1 winners. Scott Parker made his debut since signing from Blackburn as a 64 minute substitute.

So overall a very poor month for us where the only win we picked up was an extra time win in the cup over lower league team Crawley. The month finished with us bottom of the table with 0 points, hope that this is the only time we're sitting there this season.

September

Ok so a new month and hopefully the international break has given the whole team time to gel and start afresh to start picking up some desperately need points.

September starts with a home tie against a Man Utd team looking to make up for a poor season for them last year. Both teams battled well and cancelled each other out as the game ended 0-0 and we pick up our first point after 4 games. In the 75th minute, Leigh Griffiths made his debut as he came on for Adam Le Fondre.

A trip to London followed this game as we went to Stamford Bridge to take on the champions for the last 2 years, Chelsea. An interesting game for two of our players as both Wallace and Josh McEachran made it into the match day squad to play against their former team. An evenly fought game which ended 0-0 and the players were ecstatic by their performance against the champs.

The 3rd round of the Capital One Cup came around again and we welcomed Wigan to Molineux. A terrific old-fashioned style cup tie was played as both teams went out looking to win the game. After 90 minutes the match was tied 2-2 with Jake Cassidy and Matej Vydra scoring the goals and there were no more goals in extra time so it was onto the lottery of penalty kicks. We were simply faultless as we didn't miss a single penalty, winning 6-5 after Phil Jagielka missing the vital sudden death penalty.

The month ended as we travel to Newcastle to play the geordies. Tom Adeyemi got the first goal in man of the match performance from him only for Newcastle to equalise. Matej Vydra hits his 3rd league goal of the season to give us our first win and in turn leads us to finish September undefeated and move out of the drop zone.

Neville happy with performances, given the little expenditure

We are hearing that life with Profe Cruz is currently very rosey. We accept the fact that the fans would be expecting more but it's believed that Southall is delighted due to the fact that the club are is trading in the black, and in comparison to last season this surely must be creating a good feeling at Goodison Park, and with promising performances, they look set to be in the top half and from there they no doubt will re-assess their options as they enter the January transfer window.

The only way is up for the Toffee, who seem to be on the right track again....well...we hope so...

September roundup

View attachment 592723

Roberto Martinez has experienced another good month in charge of Swansea City, as his team is in fifth place after six rounds of the Premier League. The fact is that the month was almost an exact copy of August, losing to the league leaders but winning and keeping clean sheets in the other two league games, along with advancing in the Carling Cup.

The month however started off with the much anticipated Deadline Day, where Roberto Martinez chose not to bring in an offensive midfielder, leaving summer signing Alberto Bueno as first choich. Martinez instead brought in central midfielder Blerim Dzemaili from Napoli in a deal worth around 3m. Dzemaili went on to start three of the four games in September.

In terms of games the month started off with a 1-3 loss to surprise leaders Nottingham Forest, who seem to advance further after last season's seventh place. After that, Swansea collected their first home win of the season, 3-0 against Hull City, in a game where both Pablo Sarabia and Alberto Bueno scored there first goals for the club. Bristol City then visited in the Carling Cup, a game that ended 2-0 after a brace by another summer signing, Kolbeinn Sigthorsson, who has now scored three in two cup starts. Last game of the month was another home tie, this time to Southampton, where Alberto Bueno scored the only goal of the game, putting Swansea up to fifth place in the league.

Roberto Martinez has praised goalkeeper Tim Howard, who is a league leader with four kept clean sheets in six games. Jack Rodwell has again been integral in central midfield, and Lee Chung-Yong has impressed in his right-wing position. Now a very tough month is coming up for Swansea, which Premier League games against four teams from the top half, along with a Carling Cup tie with league rivals Wolverhampton, who went through September without losing.

Hey guys, going to do an update tomorrow evening(October) and then one on the weekend(November).

Following that will be the December update on Tuesday next week. Meaning not this weekend but next will be the January transfer window.

Norwich City FC have enjoyed a good month as they played 2 matches during October with head coach Malky Mackay receiving the EPL manager of the month award. Their first match was away to Aston Villa who they beat 4-0 thanks to goals from new signings Iago Aspas, Ryad Boudebouz and Jermain Defoe as well as midfielder Bradley Johnson. As Villa have also begun the season well this is a very successful result. The second match was a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea in which only a late goal by Jackson Martinez prevented a shock defeat as Ricky van Wolfswinkel continued his good form with a brace against the blues. With November coming the club sit in 9th with a game in hand which could potentially propel the club to 4th in the table.

Cardiff City Update
View attachment 377430

The club directors would like to apologise for the hostile takeover of our usual communication channels last month by one of Roberto Mancini's stalkers. This months update will feature slightly less Mancini...

This month Mancini (well I've got to mention the guy a couple of times at least) managed to propel the club into 4th position in the Premier League. The month started in promising fashion with a victories against Fulham and Man City, showing that Mancini can set teams up to beat the best in the league. However following an injury to Matej Delac, our first team keeper, results took a turn for the worse. Our Uruguayan rookie conceded eight goals in the following three games, showing that Mancini was wrong not to replace reserve goalkeeper Simon Moore, who bizarrely, transferred to Man City before the summer transfer window closed. A 2-2 draw with Man City's reserves was followed by a 3-0 loss in the Worthless Cup to Fulham and a 3-1 loss to West Brom.

November brings games against Newcastle, Wigan and Aston Villa, where we would be hoping to pick up 9 points.

Swansea hit by injury crisis in busy month

View attachment 595822

What was expected to be a busy month, with five really difficult games for Swansea, soon got even harder for the club, as players quickly added on to the injury list. When october now are summed up, eight players are out for the Welsh club, including key players Tim Howard, Ashley Williams and Jack Rodwell. This could also be seen in the results, as the club only gathered points in one game, a 2-1 win at home to league leaders Tottenham. Swansea therefore is found eight in the league, and are out of the Carling Cup. Manager Roberto Martinez had the following to say about his team's position:

"We are obviously glad we brought in some more depth during the summer. However, any team would suffer when losing many important players to injuries at the same time. All we can do is to do the best about the situation, and hope that we get our players back as soon as possible."

Martinez also took his time to praise Williams' replacement Varela:

"Obviously, I know how difficult it can be coming as as new player into English football. Varela have played in Portugal and Romania before, but coming into the Premier League is something completely different. Still, he has been very impressive in his four league starts this far, and I am looking forward to seeing him progress even more in the future."

Press Release

October

After a decent September, hopes were high that we could continue our good form and get ourselves a little further away from the wrong end of the table.

We started the month off with the Sky Super Sunday first live game away to high flying Liverpool. We truth be told we never really started at all in this game. Liverpool ran all over us and smashed us 3-0. All the good work of September gone in 90 minutes.

Next up was the home match against fellow strugglers Crystal Palace, a game both teams needed to win. After falling behind to a Marouane Chamakh goal we responded well and equalised early in the second half with a strike from Matej Vydra, his 4th in the league for us (6th overall) since signing on loan from Fulham. Unfortunately that was it and the game petered out to end 1-1, a result that suited neither team.

We then welcomed Notts Forest to Molineux, hoping to build on the draw taken in the last match. Adam le Fondre opened the scoring for us and things were looking good. A moment of lapsed concentration at the back saw Forest equalise and then they stepped up a gear and left us battling against a constant attack. Eventually the pressure got to us and a badly timed tackle gave Forest a penalty that they tucked away and with it the 3 points as well. A few shouts of discontent were heard at the end of the game from several unhappy fans.

A well timed break from league duty saw us travel to Wales to take on Swansea in the 4th round of the Capital One Cup. Having already played Swansea in the league and losing heavily to them, it was not a trip that we expected to come away from happy but as football often does the tables were turned and we came home to Wolverhampton waiting to see who we'd get in the Quarter Final draw to be held the next day. Anyway back to the game, it was a typical old fashioned cup tie with both teams rolling their sleeves up and battling for every ball. Hard tackles were flying in from both sides and both teams lost players as the flowed back and forth. Eventually Michael Jacobs, who seems to just love cup football, popped up to score the all important goal in the 73rd minute and we held on to the end and everyone went nuts as the referee blew the final whistle. That was Jacob's second goal for us this season and both of them have come in the Capital One Cup.

The next day after a light training session we all sat down to watch the draw for the Quarter Finals and saw our name getting picked first, yes a home tie, then after what seemed like an eternity our opponents were drawn. It was Liverpool. A hard one but it's the cup and anything can happen especially at home in front of our magnificent fans.

We ended the month with a road trip to Hull. With Hull languishing in the bottom half of the table we looked to get something out of the match. We just didn't turn up today as Hull went into a 2-0 lead in the first half. A 50th minute penalty, tucked away by Matej Vydra, gave us some hope for snatching something but it was just not to be as Hull held on and won the game 2-1.

Overall a very poor month for us that saw us slip to second bottom of the table with us only picking up 1 point from 4 league games. The highlight was easily making the Quarter Finals of the Capital One Cup but its the league that is our priority this year and we must stay in it. The next month will be an important one for us and especially for Nigel Clough as another poor showing will only increase the unhappiness here at Wolves and we may have to re-consider his position here at the club.

Another solid month here in the midlands sitting in second in the table picking up point left right and centre thanks to my strikers we are winning because we have the ability to out score our opponents on a regular bases happy month and Big Billy is doing a sound job here at Forrest Good Work LADS KEEP IT UP!!!
