End of August Update Tomorrow!

First game sim will be carried out tomorrow!

I will be siming until the end of August tomorrow at 6pm. If each chairman could PM the budget they would like to give their manager for spending during the rest of the window before 6pm.

You can give your manager nothing to spend but be aware if they have nothing to spend they may end up selling a key player to get funds, so be careful.

Cheers,

Spotlight on Stoke

Premier League Spotlight: Stoke City FC

A club that has been the scene for major controversy this summer is Stoke. Reports have claimed that former owner Peter Coates was forced to sell his share in the club to Daniele Del Conte of the Sammarese mafia. After only 2 weeks in charge, the squad has undergone some major changes, and all around the Britannia, pie salesmen have been kicked out of the ground, to be replaced by espresso-bars and focaccia vendors. Del Conte was quoted stating that the fans of Stoke needed to become less disgusting in nature. In other words, there may be colder things around the stadium than the weather during this season.

The Sun also printed a headline last Saturday showing pictures of 5 high profile referees who, during the summer, seem to all have gotten their hands on the newest Lamborghini Aventador. Stoke owner Del Conte refused to answer questions related to this, while winking uncontrollably. Mike Dean has already been photographed crashing into several lamp posts in his new supercar, but claimed that one of the lamp posts "fell over on its own accord" and that he "did not see the incident at the time" in regards to the second one.

Transfers: 4/10
IN: James Wilson (loan), Lazar Markovic (loan), Nicola Murru, Joel Veltman, Luka Jovic
OUT: Stephen Ireland, Peter Crouch, Mame Diouf
With limited funds, the new Stoke chairman has tried to be restrictive in his spending. As Stoke have "always" been a goal-hungry side, it looked very clever to sell both your main strikers and replace them with a 16-year old, and a loanee from Man Utd reserves (??????)
Markovic and Veltman may be clever recruits, especially as new manager Brendan Rogers looks to line up with at least 6 CB's in his starting 11.

Manager: 3/10
After the reign of Tony Pulis, and his 'Stokelona' approach, many were sceptical to the appointment of Mark Hughes. However, Hughes surprised everyone (including himself, as he probably had no idea what he was doing at the time), turning Stoke into an almost attractive side to watch, and establishing them as a top half side. It would be obvious to everyone then, what the new owners should do. FIRE HIM! In comes Brendan Rogers, who has been instructed to copy the style of the Sammarese national team. There have been defensive drills all summer, to make sure the back 7 move as a bus, and Del Conte has called his new main sponsor, Lamborghini, to have a lightweight bus created, that he can teach his defence to emulate, while not destroying the pitch at the Britannia too much.

Starting 11: 4/10

Begovic is a quality keeper, thus Stoke avoid a lower rating. The dynamic trio of N'Zonzi, Adam and Walters also have enough stud-up quality to make sure opponents are left flying more often than not. Visiting teams should bring extra substitutes as they will probably have at least 2 injuries every time they visit Stoke.

Predictions:
Final Position: 14th
Goals scored: 12
Goals conceded: 13
Highlight of the season:
Asmir Begovic being their top goalscorer at Christmas when he scores his 3rd clearance against a struggling Spurs side, who have had to play 83-year old Brad Friedel in goal.
Low point of the season: Nicola Murru finally getting his debut, but being stretchered off after 3 minutes, due to a Ryan Shawcross scissors-lunge. Shawcross couldn't recognize the new player when he was brought on, as he had been stuck in the reserves for the whole season, and thought he was an opponent in disguise. Mark Clattenburg, while driving around the pitch in his 3rd Lamborghini of the season claimed that Shawcross had gone in fairly, and waved play on.
Should be looking for: Horses, as most of the ones in the midlands now seem to have lost their heads. They also have to start looking for Bojan as the season passes, as he falls into a sink-hole that develops on the pitch during an especially rainy day in October.

One month into the premier league and Manchester city are in 9th, here are the thoughts of Man City’s new sporting director.
A lot of transfer activity was done before I arrived as such we weren’t able to spend big but we improved the squad none the less. We brought in young talent with tons of potential all of whom are able to play an active role in the first team as well. Kevin Volland is 21, primarily a Right winger but can also play on the left and upfront he replaced Jovetic 24 and saves us 35k a week. Kieran Tripper a young English club grown player replaces the old and high wage earner sagna saving us 65k a week. Kolarov also left, and by doing so allowed us to bring in wonder kid Eden Balanta who not only can play on the left but also in the centre which given we only had 3 centre backs deemed good enough for the first team squad was something I was very pleased with again reducing our wage bill buy 49k a week. Finally Callabero we let go on a free transfer to allow us to again reduce the wage bill (30k week saving) and bring in another English player not only to help our quota’s but because we feel it is important to have a large core of English players at an English club again. With the transfer fee’s we did go over budget forcing our balance into the red but a sale of the young Illheanaco for 3.5m and wage savings meant it isn’t a problem and we are already back in the black.

In terms of our start of the season, we won the community shield beating arsenal 2-0, and Leicester 4-0, however the following games a draw against sunderland and a 3-0 loss to aston villa are disappointing, it is very early in the season so were not worried. Although questions will be asked of pellegrini if results don’t improve especially given he’s playing a flat 4-4-2 something which while not essential will count against him if results don’t improve.

Our target is to make sure we get champions league football, and be competitive in the cups, so we can keep rebuilding next season we have a few players leaving with negredo leaving and money will be available. In terms of the January window it is unlikely we will dip into the market; however this could change if a player is sold, however we will look at players approaching the end of their contract.

Well.

the fact that Moses and Odemwingie are there on the matches just says it all.

'The Tigers' have done quite well in the first games this season. We won all of our 5 friendlies.

We started our season against an Israeli club in EURO Cup qualifications. First match we drew 2-2, but second match we roared and won 3-0. EURO Cup playoff was against Danish club Brondby IF. Two legs result was us qualifying for Europa League. In our EURO Cup group are Trabzonsbor, Celtic and RB Salzburg. We will have to work hard, very hard.

We started our league very promisingly. We crushed the tea-drinking Sunderlandians 2-0 with the help of non-englishmen N'Doye and Abel Hernandez.
Next opponent was Aston Villa, with whom we drew 2-2. It was an interesting match as our goalkeeper got a red card on the 32nd minute. I knew that having an English goalkeeper is bad luck. But we came back from 2-0 with the help of likes N'Doye and umm another player, who is definitely not english.
Third match of August was against Q.P.R.. Again a draw. From our team Tom Huddlestone got a red cough-englishman-cough and Soldado from our enemy team.

We also have our first two so-called footballers we will be looking to trade in the January transfer window. And as you probably guessed, yes they are English players.

Easterbrook pleased with Bromalds start
View attachment 257821
Chairman of McBromalds Steve Easterbrook has said he is 'pleased' with the clubs' 'promising start.' In a statement released on the club website he said:
"It's obviously early days yet, but we're doing well and as long as we finish above the pompous ***** the Queen, I think we've accomplished a major goal. We've also been excellent at keeping goals out, credit to our defense (sic)."
The Baggies' start to the season saw a 1 - 0 win over Crystal Palace, in a tight affair with 3 shots on target and 1 clear cut chance apiece, a Sessegnon goal deciding it. Then new man Bafitembi Gomis made his debut in their next game, a 2 - 0 win over Burnley. His brace secured the victory in a game where West Brom dominated the shots. They then met Bristol City at the Hawthorns, where a comfortable 3 - 0 routing saw them off. Goals by Jonas Olsson, Filipe Luis and James Morrison won it there. Finally a match against Leicester saw McBromalds pick up their first loss of the season. While things were fairly even in terms of possession and shots, Leicester were simply more clinical and the baggies' missed a couple of clear cut chances, with goals from Ulloa and Vardy winning it for Leicester, and Gomis providing a consolation.
Player of the month

View attachment 257820
There can be no doubt about it, Bafitembi has been is lethal form and scored in both games he's played. Hopefully he can continue scoring, as judging by Ideye's form he'll need to!
Flop of the month
View attachment 257819
For some reason Pulis has seen fit to start him in every game so far, and he's done precisely nothing. Honorable mention to Brown Ideye, who has looked similarly useless.
Next time...
A difficult month, facing Manchester United and Liverpool. We also have Aston Villa in the cup, and Newcastle. Will be lucky to pick up points from any of these games to be honest.

Gunners firing early

Arsenal make flying start to the season
New chairman Prince Harry has had a delightful start to his job, as Arsenal have won all 3 of their league games so far, as well as gotten through the qualifying stages to the Champions League.

There was a lot of talk about the lack of coherence and team spirit before the season began, as a large re-shuffle saw a lot of players leaving, to be replaced by new ones. The sceptics claimed Arsenal would struggle to kick off at any kind of decent level due to the amount of new players. However, the Gunners have proven any criticism wrong this far with some impressive performances.

Fixtures:

Community Shield: Man City - Arsenal 2-0 LOSS

A poor performance saw City grab a deserved win. A disjointed performance all round, as the players didn't seem motivated to play what is essentially a friendly.

Premier League: Arsenal - Tottenham 4-0 WIN
A stunning performance saw us kick off the season in style, humiliating our North-London rivals. An early red card for hot-head Danny Rose gave us lots of room to play our passing game, and in the 30th minute, Daniel Sturridge scored on his debut to make it 1-0. Marquinhos doubled the lead 3 minutes later and we never looked back. Another Sturridge goal and a goal from Alexis Sanchez saw us run out as comfortable winners.

Champions League qualifiers: Arsenal - FC Copenhagen 1-0 WIN
We won the game, but in truth, this wasn't an impressive performance. A goal from Aboubakar saw us go to Denmark one goal up.

Premier League: Southampton - Arsenal 1-3 WIN
Another solid performance against a team that we did some deals with in the summer. Clyne and Wanyama played solid games against their former club, and goals from Sanchez, Özil and Aboubakar gave us a deserved win.

Champions League qualifiers: FC Copenhagen - Arsenal 0-2 WIN
We did the job in Denmark thanks to two Sturridge goals. Now for the group draw!

Premier League: Arsenal - Swansea 3-1 WIN
We cannot stop scoring at the moment, and this game was no different. Sean Murray got a rare start in the centre of the park, and responded by playing brilliantly and scoring the first goal of the game. Sanchez kept up his stunning form with two more goals, as we coasted to another victory. 4 goals in 3 league games from Sanchez means he is the current top scorer in the league.

Moving forwards:
We have been drawn in a Champions League group with Leverkusen, Basel and Anderlecht, a group we should be able to win. We face Man Utd in the 3rd round of the Capital One Cup, which could be exciting, however it is not a tournament we will prioritise this year. In the league we face Hull away before a crucial home game to City. This will be a game to define our season, if we beat City, there is no reason that we can't go all the way and win it!
