On the Brink

Arsenal are facing elimination from the group stages of the champions league, going into thier fourth group game, they have only notched one win, and that came against Standard Liege. They trail Fiorentina in 2nd, and it seems they will have to pick up something in possibly the hardest game in football, away at the Bernabou. Pre match press conference from Frankie will be tomorrow.

Could you post a screenie of your formation please. Wounded that your group is so hard, In my arsenal game ive just qualified from a group with Porto, Olympiakos and Kobenhavn. Easy.

Arsenal Do The Impossible

Nicklas_Bendtner_595613a.jpg

Arsenal have set shockwaves around the footballing world. Needing a win to have a chance to qualify, no-one gave Arsenal a sniff against a rampant Real Madrid team. Arsenal were without Alex Song, Robin Van Persie, and Oscar Cardozo through ineligibility. Arsenal started at a quick tempo, but were caught napping when Ronaldo was put through on goal. Thomas Vermaelen made a herioc challenge then Gallas cleared the ball. Extrodianaily, the clearance fell in the path of Di Maria, who whipped in a cross for Nicklas Bendtner to knock in the 6th minute. Arshavin then put Arsenal 2-0 up with a low bending shot from the edge of the area. Real Madrid quickly restored it to a one goal deficit, through Legend Raul. The second half was attack after attack, and Ronaldo was getting very frustrated. Already on a booking, he took a dive, and was sent off for simulation. Arsenal somehow held on, and claimed a remarkable win.

Well done mate, all of the updates look really good. Great result against Madrid

Arsenal brush aside Pompey

340x.jpg

Arsenal maintained top-spot in the Premier League, with a very comfortable 4-0 win against a Portsmouth team who are having a very good season (10th). On-form striker Nicklas Bendtner got a first half double, both cooly slotted right-footed strikes. Robin Van Persie then made his long awaited recovery from injury, coming on to replace Theo Walcott. He quickly netted a first before curling in a 25 yard free kick. He then had to go off with a suspected bruised rib. Frankie said in his post match interview he doesn't feel it is that bad and Robin could be back to face Hull.

Quality results in the last couple of updates there Frankie. Keep it up, I expect a trophy or two this season ;)

Hill-Wood: Contract talks to Begin

Arsenal-chairman-Peter-Hi-001.jpg

After a very impressive start as caretaker manager, Arsenal Chairman Peter Hill-Wood has relased a statement saying Arsenal will be holding contract talks with Hobbs over the next few weeks. Many fans have come out saying the Englishman has been the breath of fresh-air needed at the Emirates and they think he really is the man to deliver a trophy to the North London club. Peter Hill-Wood spoke to Arsenal.com earlier.

The appointment of Frankie was seen as a gamble by many, but it is one which is paying off at the moment. The club is flying in the league, and before the season started, that was the main priority. I am not surprised how well he has done, as i know the quality of the man, and how much passion he has for the cause. We will have to talk terms soon, otherwise other clubs could be on the lookout, seeing as he is such a world class coach.

Got That Double Feeling

After a season of blood, sweat and tears, Arsenal have ended the 5 year wait for a trophy with a remarkable double, by winning the Barclays Premier League and also The F.A Cup, by defeating Liverpool, through an Oscar Cardozo piledriver. After a remarkable debut season, Frankie Hobbs signed a new contract which will increase his tenure at the Emirates Stadium.

After dominating the league for a long while, Chelsea did actually take the lead in the title race before Arsenal went on a 12 game unbeaten streak to regain the lead, and they sealed the title at White Hart Line against less successful, bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspurs. The amazing run included a 7-0 smashing of Birmingham.

The greatest game of the season was undoubtebly the game involving Arsenal and Manchester United at the Emirates. The game ended 4-3 to Manchester United, but will always remain as a classic for all Arsenal Fans.

The champions league did not go as planned for Arsenal, crashing out in the 2nd round, to a very strong Inter Milan team 4-2 on aggregate. The Champions League is a tough competition and one in which Arsenal will be looking to do much better next year.

Premier League Player of The Season & Golden Boot Winner

Hotshot Oscar Cardozo had one of the greatest ever seasons seen in the Premier League. After a slow start, he picked up, and continued to piledrive the ball into the back of the net, notching an amazing 37 goals in just 31 games. This included a remarkable 6-goal-haul against Birmingham in the remarkable match. After fans were unhappy at the signing of the former Benfica star, they were made to eat their words.

Ivory Coast

After a dissapointing African Cup of Nations, Frankie Hobbs was brought in to steer the team to a good world cup finish; no-one expected what was to follow. Ivory Coast were the suprise package, and clearly showed thier intentions with a 1-1 draw with Spain in their first game. After progressing through the groups, they strolled past Uruguay 4-0, after which they met a strong Argentina side. The result was remarkable. Ivory Coast put 5 past the Argies, with no reply!

They fell short against Paraguay in the semi's, but no-one could stop them getting 3rd, after ripping apart France. The world cup had been a great experience for all involved, and Drogba finished with the Golden boot.

A great World Cup for the Ivorians, and Hobbs is now looked up to. A great experience for the Rookie boss, as he continues to add to his excellent CV.
