On the 30th November 2015, West Bromwich Albion Chairman Jeremy Peace invited me to attend an interview for the club's vacant managerial position. West Brom are currently in 16th place in the Premier League, but I'll decline the offer as I'd like to stay with Middlesbrough Football Club. My family and I are happy here.

Middlesbrough 2 - 0 Huddersfield Town

It took until the second half to break down a tough Huddersfield defence. Erwin Hoffer getting our first goal after he'd been put through on goal. Mehdi Abeid got our winner with a great volley.

On 1st December 2015, Manchester Utd have announced that they have sacked manager Jurgen Klopp. Utd are currently in 11th place in the Premier League, and the Utd board have made it clear that this is unacceptable.

On the 5th December 2015, West Bromwich Albion Football Club are extremely pleased to announce the appointment of Sean O'Driscoll as their new manager.

Swansea City 1 - 1 Middlesbrough

A very entertaining game and I'm very happy to have come away with a point.

Boro took the lead from a rebound by left back James Husband. However 3 minutes later defender Emir Spahic equalised for Swansea.

On the 6th December 2015, Burnley Chairman Mike Garlick invited me to attend an interview for the club's vacant managerial position. Burnley are currently bottom of the Premier League with 0 wins. I think it will be a tall order to get this club turned around, as they are currently 8 points off safety, however they do have some good players in striker Danny Ings and centre back Tomas Kalas. It would actually be great to link back up with Kalas.

I thought about it most of the night, and then the following morning I decided to decline the kind offer of an interview.

Several players came to my office to complain that I shouldn't be playing midfielder Mehdi Abeid, after he'd initially demanded first team football. I reassured them that he deserved a chance and that I have the clubs best interests at heart. They were all happy after that apart from Grant Leadbitter who said that I shouldn't be a manager as I was unfit to manage the team. I flew at him and told him to get out.

I sat back down at my desk, shaking with rage. I shouted for my assistant Steve Agnew to come in. I told Steve that I wanted rid of Leadbitter. Make some calls, put him on the transfer list, I don't care, he's in the reserves from now on. Get it done.

The following day Steve Agnew told me that Grant Leadbitter wanted to talk to me, he wanted to know why he'd been transfer listed and dumped in the reserves. I told Steve I didn't want to talk to him at all.

On the 9th December 2015, Manchester Utd have hired former Newcastle Utd manager Martin Jol as their new manager.

Newcastle Utd are now looking for a new manager.

On the 11th December 2015, Burnley have hired Steve Cotterill as their new manager. Cotterill leaves Bristol City to join Burnley.

Middlesbrough 1 - 1 Hull City

I was angry with the team for letting in a 91st minute equaliser, after Erwin Hoffer had put us ahead with a rebound, following goalkeeper Allan McGregor's save from a Mehdi Abeid effort.

On the 15th December 2015, Newcastle Utd Chairman Mike Ashley invited me to attend an interview. Newcastle are currently 10th in the Premier League. They are also in the Euro Cup which is very appealing to me. I know the Boro fans won't be happy with me leaving, especially for a rival team, but I can't turn the chance of this interview down. So I accepted the invite.

I feel as though the interview went well, Mike Ashley threw in concern over fans reactions from both Middlesbrough and Newcastle. I asked for more transfer money which was set at £2m, but Mr Ashley didn't take too kindly to that request.

On the 16th December 2015, Middlesbrough Football Club are pleased to announce that centre back Daniel Ayala has just signed a 4 year deal worth £20,000 p/w.

This is great news for Boro as their captain has been superb this season.

On the 16th December 2015, hearing that I'd been for the Newcastle Utd job interview, Middlesbrough Football Club Chairman Steve Gibson invited me to his office for talks to try and keep me at the club. I accepted his invite.

We had a lengthy discussion and the board agreed to raise the wage budget from £400,000 p/w to £425,000 p/w. They wouldn't allow me more transfer money to spend, even though we've made over £15m in profit this season so far.

I personally would stay, see how far you can take Boro first before leaving

On the 20th December 2015, Newcastle Utd have hired former Charlton Athletic and Huddersfield manager Chris Powell.

I was actually disappointed that I hadn't been offered the Newcastle job. I know Middlesbrough Football Club are very good, but I was hoping to take my managerial skills into the Euro Cup.

Middlesbrough 0 - 3 Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham well and truly tortured Boro today, live on TV. Boro created nothing of note, whereas Tottenham created bundles of chances.

Manchester City 6 - 2 Middlesbrough

We got utterly destroyed by Man City, and I was extremely angry as we went in at half time level, 2-2.

Kike and Adam Forshaw getting our goals, however it would be Man City's Edin Dzeko who would be taking the match ball home after an amazing hat trick.

Midfielder Sergio Alvarez was booked in the 75th minute, but then dismissed 4 minutes later for his second yellow card. He is now banned for 2 matches. That's his 2nd red card in 15 games for us in his first Boro season. Not a great way to start it.
