In my opinion this is bad, whether you rate Ferdinand as a player, personally I do, losing the captain of our team is never going to be a positive thing. I think our squad is good enough to cover his abscence is a footballing sense however.

Explain how. I haven't seen any evidence, EVER, or who happens to captain the squad affect how well we do. We still get knocked out in the quarters in every tournament.
