The choice of players isnt the issue. The balance is. No one looking to pick up the ball in space, they stuck wilshere deep and had two runners to control the game, no width from the wingers and only bertrand from the full backs.

Flat. One dimensional. Devoid of anything. Sterling didn't look bothered at all. And he wants £150k or however much he wants? Do me a favor. Rooney was poor. Barkley had an off game. We were just woeful.

There's clearly something up with the lad. Which makes me think if that's the case why even pick him in the first place? There's so much behind the scenes stuff going on with him with his wage demands etc, I'm amazed he was selected. It would affect any player.

It's just frustrating as **** that todays lesson we learnt was-nothing. We learnt absolutely nothing. I'll be able to think more clearly on this when I'm less frustrated. We have a good set of players out there and we should be doing far better.

I agree we do have some good players. Just not being used properly!

Distinct lack of common sense on display yet again from England

The Sterling situation is baffling imo and impossible to judge. At first, he supposedly wanted 150 per week, then he wanted to leave no matter what Liverpool are offering. Liverpool's handing of the fiasco is poor. The information on his contract talks shouldn't have been made public and now there's the risk of alienating him. It still isn't clear exactly what he wants. If he thinks that Liverpool are underachieving and he decides to move abroad, then I have no qualms, however if he moves domestically then I can understand the backlash against him. The value of players are entirely subjective to judge. For example, Danny Welbeck earns 100k+ a week here at Arsenal and looking at his wages, he's worth the 150k per week. If he ends up at Arsenal, he'd be earning around 150k per week. That's how much top teams would pay. It's all about paying him his worth. Would you call a top CEO a money grabber if accepts 50k a year because most people don't earn millions? No, you pay someone their worth based on ability.

I think also, he's been very poorly advised by his agent. Should replace him. He's leaving Liverpool too soon.

He doesn't. Somewhere around 60k-70k I think. Sanchez and Özil are high earners and are on something like 120-140k

Arsenal have agreed a shock £16 million deadline deal with Manchester United to sign England striker Danny Welbeck. The striker has signed a five-year contract worth an estimated £115,000-a-week. That was off the Daily Telegraph who are quite reliable. Alexis earns 150k per week and Özil earns 140k per week. Arsenal Wenger has said that he's a fan of a socialist pay structure. That's why Koscielny, Mertesacker, Özil, Wilshere, Ramsey, Cazorla, Walcott, Alexis and Giroud all earn £100K plus per week. People dismiss Arsenal's wage structure, however 5 years ago, the only player earning £100k was Fabregas. Ivan Gazidis has said in the past that we could definitely put a player on £200k per week if they were good enough, such as Rooney.

Words defied me when I saw £115,000 a week.. That's 4 times more than what Marco Reus earns, plus he had a £21 million release clause and we spend £16 million on Welbeck with 4x higher wages.

Jeez we gave Sterling an awful ribbing every single time He touched the ball XD

That game frustrated the ***** out of me.
McClean could have been put through down the wing so many times but they kept playing high balls to him.
The poor lad was never going to win them.

If any of the Irish players had actually looked up from time to time, He was in acres of space and could have caused so much more trouble.

The Away fans were well behaved and only sang the outdated Anti IRA song once.
We drowned it out with Fields of Athenry anyway ;)

Sun was shining and it was still better than sitting in the pub.

I'm a big fan of James McClean. I remember him in his Sunderland days. Very good speed and agility with the ball at his feet. Him and McGeady aware the only Irish players with real quality. I was hoping to see Ireland in the last World Cup, but unfortunately it didn't happen.

He's a good player, tough as nails and was really hungry for a few balls over the top of the full back today.
Unfortunately nobody could deliver.

He would have skinned Jones all day.

Smalling ****** me off all game, climbing all over players backs and getting away with it.

It would have been an interesting battle with Jones. Phil Jones is solid one on one and very rarely gets beaten. I'm not sold on that. Smalling is a very physical defender. He can overstep the mark sometimes.

Marco Reus is paid 140K pounds per week which is 10 Million Euro per year.
