All talented youngsters, all irrelevant if we dont have a progressive approach that makes the most of them. All of these players like to get the ball down and play. We need to start focusing on that.
Amen to that, but then we go and appoint a fossil like Hodgson.
Not sure about him.
not off to a great start with that squad selection but I will reserve proper judgements until actual matchesTo be fair Hodgson is unfairly judged, he is not a long ball merchant, he has had Fulham and West Brom playing some cracking stuff. But he is focused on defensive play more than attacking.

Yes better than Gerrard, because Gerrard isnt a CM, he is an AM. as for making the odd pass, Carrick has made more passes than any other English central mid, at 73 passes per game at 90%, hitting 6 long ranges (11.3 per game in Europe) passes a game at 82% accuracy. Considerably better passer and considerably more accurate than Gerrard. Gerrard is a hands down better AM, but he is in Carricks shadow as an CM.
Carrick is a specialist regista, his role is to sit in front of the back 4 and dictate play, only Scholes does this better.
Gerrard is a better a AM hands down. He's also a better CM, DM, and every other position on the *****. Carricks role at United is 'anchorman with odd pass'. Trust me, I play FM.
I think/ hope he was being sarcastic but I'm not sure...Well done for showing your complete lack of knowledge of football, and indeed FM. That isnt carricks role at all, what a load of rot you have just written.
Just seen martin kelly has been called into squad for saturday as cover at RB, what must richards be thinking!
Was listening to a podcast yesterday and it had journo Neil Ashton on it (not sure who he works for but think its one of the red tops) and he fully understands why Rio and Carrick are not included. He believes England will try and play a bit like Chelsea have done in the Champions League and there are similarities. England are a side not as good as they believe they are so once they come to realise this the better, we cannot out play the bigger sides so why not just stop them first and maybe nick a goal. Like i said over a month ago now having Cole, Terry and Cahill 3 of your back 5 if you want to play this way would be hugely beneficial. And no one could complain if we defy all odds just like Chelsea done and went on to win the trophy.
Euro 2012 is a cup tournament and the best team does not always win. Perhaps Hodgson realises this and maybe he will play a defensive game with the ain of nicking goals on the counter. Could work well
