The German Influx Has Started

View attachment 347316

Freiburg manager has been busy announcing 4 new signings all of whom are German. When asked why he decided to bring in these 4 players, the manager had this to say.

"The Chairman (Oliver Bierhoff) has asked me to try and keep the core of my team German. Having played in a team full of great Germans, Oliver was disgusted to see the national team fail at the last World Cup and has given me plenty of funds to change this. He wants Freiburg to be the biggest club in Germany with the biggest players to be German. He wants the nation to be proud of their football team and I will strive to help him achieve these goals."

Bierhoff further commented on this saying
" I am pleased that Thomas Schneider has signed 4 great young German talents for the first team. I have trusted him with the role of manager as Joachim Low has been signed elsewhere, and my other main target Jurgen Klinsmann has retired from football altogether. I thought Thomas deserved a change till the end of the season at least and I am very happy with the position of 7th with the squad he has. Like he said, I have given him funds to spend and I hope he will use this wisely."

This comes as they officially unveil Robin Knoche & Maximilian Arnold from struggling Wolsfburg, Stefan Bell from Hoffenheim and German Keeper Tobias Sippel whom is in the top 5 clean sheet holders in the league despite Kaiserslauten being 8th.

As you can see, I am interested in German players only so don't hesitate to PM me any germans you may have available :)

Robinson reveals new signing

Reporter: We are here today with Jake Robinson and new signing Edinson Cavani, hello Jake you have signed Cavani today and none of us know how much it costs would you like to tell us?

View attachment 347275

Jake: I would prefer that to remain confidential, it was an expensive deal that is what you need to know and that Stephan El Shaarawy will be going the other way.

Reporter: *listens to ear piece* Jake is it true you bought him for 41m?

Jake: No!

Reporter: View attachment 347276

Jake: Okay yes he did! But for a player of that quality he is worth the money and will provide 3/4 years of great service.

Reporter: Edinson, how do you feel with the move to Roma from PSG?

Edinson: It's great to be back in Italy and I thank Matt Smith for saying those kind words before I left and I thank him, the manager, the players, staff and all the fans for showing great support over the last few years. I now look forward to playing at a great club like Roma.

Reporter: Back to you Jake, is it true Gonzalo had problems with the transfer?

Jake: At first yes, but we spoke and we agree with each others points about the player, I think he brings something that has real class about him and will be worth the money with the goals that he will bring. Gonzalo thought for 40m it was too much for a soon to be 29 years old. But then we both agreed that he is a world class forward.

Reporter: Final question has there been any other incomings?

Jake: Yes, Alberto Cerri joins for 15m and we have recalled the loan of Memphis Depay.

PSG sell Cavani..after saying they wouldn't!

Sky Sports: "Matt, didn't you saying just hours ago that didn't want to sell Cavani and that he would be staying to help with the injured winger situation? What changed your mind?"

Matt Smith: "I'll admit, I did say all of that. Although, not long after our press conference, we received multiple offers for his services which sparked a little bidding war!"

"Jake blew the other offers out of the water by offering £41M and also including El Shaarawy as part of the deal...he obviously watched the press conference and heard me saying we needed a winger!"

El Shaarawy
View attachment 663986

"El is a fantastic player who is capable of playing on both wings! He will be vital until Lamela and Bale get back from injury! Even then he will rotate with the other first team wingers!"

Sky Sports: " Any other deals currently being thrashed out?"

Matt Smith: "We are always looking for the best players! We are currently looking at 2 players which we would like to bring in. We shall update you when the time is right!"

Sky Sports: "Thanks Matt! We look forward to hearing more!"

A Blessing

When you took over this club, the first thing you did was hiring Juergen Klopp as the first-team manager. Now that he left on October 28 for Napoli's manager role, that looked more appealing to him. What are your thoughts on that?
Honestly, it was a blessing. He left and my employees hired a new manager, whom I believe was made for success. His winning percentage in my club proves that. It is 100%. I'd like to think that me and Mr. Berdyev are going to have a very good private and professional relationship.

True, True. His current success has been spectacular. But to be honest he has managed only seven games.
Yes, yes, but some managers can't get a 7-game winning streak in their whole career.

All right. To the next subject. How do you rate Klopp's managing efforts in your club?
Well they weren't the best, but they weren't the worst also. I guess it was average.

What are your intentions this transfer window? Who are you trying to sign and who do you want to get rid of?
I'm looking to strengthen my defence and attack. Also if I see a good right midfielder, I just might make an offer. Get rid of, get rid of... I don't think there is a player I do not need at this moment.

Thanks for the interview.
No probz.

Manchester city spend big!

Once again rich Manchester city have opened up the chequebook to spend big this January. Manager Joachim low has spoken to co chairmen conor and Dave and revealed his targets which the two chairmen have done their very best to deliver

Joe hart returns as the club was lacking in a top class keeper and actually have been using Alex McCarthy as the main keeper this season
Juan Bernat has joined from bayern and will fight it out with Gael clichy for the left back position but he is likely to come out victorious.
Gino peruzzi has joined as the club had no natural right back other than Micah Richards, who has left the club. Marc bartra has been playing right back this season the majority of the time and although he has done well he will be even better when playing in his natural centre back position
Matija Nastasic had returned to the club and will fight for a centre back position and push players not good enough like Martin demichelis away, he'll stay on loan at Carlisle till the end of the season as he isn't allowed to play for city this season as he's already played for 2 teams.
Eder Alvarez balanta will battle for the centre back position aswell and he also has the potential to become the best defender in the world one day
Geoffrey Kondogbia has joined and will be our backup defensive midfielder and also has potential to push into the starting lineup in the future
Andre ayew has joined and will provide neymar with competition in lw but also is versatile to compete for other positions
Neymar has joined and is a world class player but will stay on loan at Carlisle till the end of the season for the same reason as Nastasic
Hakan calhanoglu has joined and will be backup to ayew for the rest of the season before he goes on loan as we try to make sure he reaches his potential
Luis Suarez has joined and he is the world class competition aguero needs to get him and Manchester city firing
Michael garces and Luis Dominguez has also joined and have massive potential for the future. We have also bidded for a few more players and may pay up to another 200m in this window despite already spending 248m!

Next season you'll be right up there, wouldn't be surprised this season if signings click you could finish in top 7 if point difference isn't massive

Didn't look at the point difference up the league I was more worried looking down how close to relegation we was. Still in the fa cup and Europa league though so if we can get a trophy in our first season I think me and Dave will both see that as a success as our squad was very very weak until this window. If I get the players I'm after now it will give us a good chance of the title next year thougj

it's about 15 if I remember correctly. I think you can make top ten bu if you have real good form you could make Europa again, depending on how signings click

I think Roma's squad is very strong now, Atalanta have a great team as well and probably deserve to be slightly ahead. I hope our signings this window will help us push on as we was weak in a few areas especially full back. Baines and Danilo should hopefully solve it for us. Peruzzi was actually our first choice we discussed him a few days ago

A lot of teams have built very strong squads, psg and juventus especially. It's hard to find world class talent not human controlled now

Thank god there's a back up as soon as I load up FM the game crashes and save corrupts but it created a back yp

Yes it is, but then again having a team full of world class players can often lead to failure you often need a right balance in your squad, maybe not in FM but irl for sure. I think Roma have a lot of class in each position, and I would consider Lewandowski world class

I agree. It's important to have good balance and partnerships to compliment each other. If you look at city last season they had the aguero negredo partnership up front when they were at there best part of the season and they worked perfectly. Then toure and fernandinho in midfield worked perfectly as fernandinho ran enough to cover for toure whilst toure was just class.also kompany and demichelis at the end of the season with demichelis stepping out and kompany being able to cover as he's pretty quick. Getting good partnerships through the team change things from world class players to a world class team. And I'd say lewandowski is definitely world class aswell, how many better proper number 9 strikers are there in the world?

My best player so far has probably been Destro.... who I got from Roma just before you bought them :D

That said, I'm in a position now where I can keep my squad stable, which is a nice feeling
