Man City can be a joy to watch at times, prefer Pellegrini a whole lot more than Mancini. That is true, there's a good example of this and that's Napoli, they built a fairly decent team with quality players but they didn't gel and ended in failure

I think I've built one of the best teams for the next few seasons, they might not be quite there yet but they've got loads of potential and we've added a couple of world class players to the mix to help take the pressure off those still developing.

I wanted Mancini to stay at the time because he's done a lot for city but I also prefer pellegrini a lot more now. I love that he doesn't get involved with all the mind games/moaning that wenger and mourinho and just concentrates on trying to win matches. Also our football is now a better aswell, can't wait till the season starts if jovetic can stay fit he's been class pre season. Him and aguero together could be brilliant. And you could also look at Tottenham last season where the players didn't gel

I liked him at the time, I've always liked City and enjoy watching their games from time to time but there was something about him that he lacked it seemed from an outsiders point of view that he couldn't control his players that well but with Pellegrini they seem like they're more of a unit and act like they're more of a team, I may be completely wrong since you're a City fan you obviously know more and could tell me how it was?

This is true from what I hear. Mancini seemed very detached and ran the players in a dictator style. He didn't get on with a lot of them and I think if he didn't leave a few of city's key players may have last summer. To be fair to Mancini he had a slightly different group to the group pellegrini has. Players like balotelli and tevez are trouble waiting to happen so he had it a lot harder to get the team together but really he didn't seem interested in it anyway. Pellegrini always is calm and seems to get on with the players and this helps the players to get on with each other

Any advice, any time I try use a 4-5-1 it fails. Not sure what it is but I never seem to know how to set up the 3 in midfield with player roles. I use a dlp (s) on one of the CM's and either dm, anchor man or BWM on the DMC. But I never know what role to give to the other centre midfielder.

Atm I'm testing if an DLP (s) and AP (a) will work together but sounds like it will just crash and burn.

Does anyone have advice on how to use the 4-5-1 because on this fm I just can not get it to work

Just looked at the save only calhanoglu is missing from city but joe hart, Gino peruzzi and Luis Suarez need to be registered by you as you put them in after the registration window had closed

Okay will do that when I open up the save tomorrow, would you mind sending me a pm of that so I can look at it tomorrow and remember

Leeds season starts tomorrow and for the first time I am not looking forward to it, we're such a shambles at the moment it is embarrassing and just makes your heart sink when all you want is a little success. Could get worse Cellino could be disqualified as owner in a couple of months meaning GFH will resume control and then we'll probably go into admin (again)

I have an asymmetric 4-5-1 (of sorts) looks like this

-------------------F9---------------------
------------SS--------------------------IF
W--------------------------B2B----------
-------------------HB----------------------
CWB ----- CB--------------CB-------CWB
-------------------GK

which works well for me, though if I was to make it a conventional 4-5-1 I'd push the winger up to another IF and drop the SS to either a DLP or AP, not sure which would work better.

Atm for me I've made myself as Bielsa to continue him being Roma manager in a way and he likes using a target man so trying to make it as close to him as I can whilst doing my own thing as well.

I got

---------------TM
W (s)---------------------IF (a)

-------DLP(s)-------AP(a)

-------------BWM(d)
FB (A) -- CB (d) -- CB (d) FB (s)

--------------GK

Sorry for poor layout

Atalanta should be fine without checking the file, I had a nice, quiet January this time

You playing fluid or rigid? Only 4-3-3/4-5-1 that's ever kind of worked for me was like

Sk(d)
Cwb(a) cd(d). Cd(d). Cwb(a)
Anchor(d)
Cm(a). Cm(a)
Ap(s). If(a)
Dlf(s)

High defense line to push up to cover the gaps I have in midfield when the cms push. That got Newcastle into cl first season but I got bored so I didn't play after that.
Fluid,control

Anyone got a decent centre back available for loan? I'm short at the moment but don't want to buy one as I have Nastasic next year. Pm me or Spanishdave if you have one up

Chievo Breaks The Bank!

It's a new record breaking season for Chievo, first was multi-millionaire Murley buying the club and within days he has spend an amazing sum of £320m on players for his new squad!

First player on his list was 16 year old Jan-Lucas Kohler a german future superstar who has came through the ranks of Schalke. Murley saw he lacked depth in his squad plus he lacked the youth which other teams had in Serie A so jumped onto the star before anyone else could. It was said he flew over to germany right after confirming the purchase of the club. Very eager stuff there.

Second, was help from his scouts as they had been tracking the progression on young Ivorian player Joel Diaby from Serie A rival Bologna! Joel Diaby has been labelled the next Joel Tiehi and they believe he has a bright future at Chievo if treated and trained right, time will tell.

The next signing was the biggest of them all which cost a record of £108m! Cesc Fabregas! Everybody who knows anything about football know Cesc is a worldwide superstar in his own right. He is a pass master with an incredible record behind him. We managed to catch Cesc after his medical to confirm the move to Chievo. "Cesc, Cesc! One second please! Can I ask why the downgrade to Chievo? You we're at Barca the worlds biggest club, why the massive change?" "Well, you press wouldn't understand. I had Murley contact my agent and within 20 minutes I was a Chievo player, Murley is a very convincing person and I truely believe the club has a MASSIVE future ahead of them, that's all for now thanks." You heard it here first Fabregas to Chievo!

This signing made even the richest club eye brows raise. The signing of Falcao from AS Monaco! Everybody knows Falcao is one of the most well paid footballers in the world so a lot of Chievo fans are asking, "Did Falcao's wage come with him?" Murley comments on this within seconds of hearing it saying "Falcao is an out and out striker no doubt about it, his finishing on the ground and in the air has been amazing from the day he became a professional football player. Yes, it's an expensive deal. Yes, he has a very high wage. Yes, he is 29 years old. Get over it. Falcao has scored 15 in 22 apps this season, 32 in 47 last season, 27 in 34 the year before that. Need I to know on? If he is scoring that amount of goals for us here in Chievo we will be challenging for the title no doubt about it! With Cesc feeding him we are very excited for the second half of the season."

Rober van Kesteren is the next to be a Chievo player. He is a dutch 17 year old from dutch club Feyenoord, with Kesteren coming through the ranks with flying colours he soon caught the eye of Murley. Murley stated that his team lacked depth and his team was ageing compared to other teams in his divison and he has truely delivered.

Raphael Varane was the next on Chievo's list. Even though Man Utd signed Varane at the beginning of the season, Chievo really was keen on bringing him in and let nothing stop in their way. The french international has had a poor few seasons having moved to PSG to struggle to get first team appearances to being sold to Man Utd. Will his poor form carry on? Or will he up his game here? Who will defend along side him? See here next...

Gerard Pique! That's
right guys, the one and only Gerard Pique will be defending along side Raphael Varane! The ex-Barcelona player has followed with his team mate Fabregas to join here at Chievo and is looking forward to the challenge which lies ahead.

Murley isn't keen on his first team keeper Agazzi so and brought in a possible replacement of someone for the future who knows but his name is Jernonimo Rulli. Rulli is a argentine who is a back up keeper for TSV 1860 Munchen, fans are questioning Murley's decision in bringing him in as they already have a back up keeper and if he is good enough to knock Agazzi off the starting 11 sheet. Time can only tell with this one as Rulli being a young keeper at the age of 23.

The final signing has been a loan deal for right back Daryl Janmaat from side Anderlecht. The 2 chairman's had a private meeting between themselves and agreed a loan fee for the player to join the Italian side till the end of the season. Murley's reason to loan Janmaat and not purchase was to see if he can really live up to playing every week at a high level, plus looking at the list of players Chievo have, they don't even have a right back at all! So was a all round decent transfer.

That concluded all the of January signings, thank you for listening.
