European Dreams - A Newcastle United Story

at the end of the day lads, it all depends how much I can get for him, he's currently worth 10.75m but I agree that he isn't a bad player to have as cover, can't see him accepting that role though and at 27 he will wanna play, he has a lot of work to do when he regains fitness, will definitely have a lot of teams happy to pay good money for him

i completly agree with both of you but some players aren't the same after injury look at michael owen he used to be a world beater ba will want 1st team at his age and there is a lot of talent out there at the mo anyway good return to your story

Isaac opened the scoring after looking dangerous down the right wing for the first 20 mins and after Hoilett's cross found Sigurdsson who had his shot saved, however it cannoned out to Cuenca who tucked it into the bottom corner of the open net. 10 minutes later Isaac bombed down the wing and lobbed the ball in to find Pierre Aubameyangs left boot who smashed into the net. Then the game was wrapped up after in-form winger Junior Hoilett scored an individual effort to put the Magpies on 3 goals and had them earn another 3 points.

Group Stage Review

Newcastle United have qualified for the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League after qualifying from a very tough and competitive group which included Fenerbahce, Valencia and Europa League champions FC Porto. There was not a huge margin between all four teams but Newcastle managed to stay calm and secure their place in the First Knockout Round to continue a brilliant season for the Tyneside club.

Newcastle United are showing no signs of failing to back up last seasons success as they continue storming the Premier League with a win at West Brom, however manager Hutchinson has declared they are only half the side they can be as long as Demba Ba is missing. The title-winning manager admits that Newcastle are missing the Senegalese forward who only managed 4 games this season with 1 goal before he suffered a lower leg break, he also dismisses reports that Ba is losing confidence. Still, Newcastle managed an impressive win today after wonderkid Junior Hoilett gave Newcastle the lead which was short lived after Morrocan striker El Hamdaoui struck to equalise. But, the winner came midway through the second half after Gylfi Sigurdsson continued his amazing season with Newcastle as he struck a fantastic left-footed goal which takes his tally to 10.

*Newcastle have been drawn against Inter Milan in the first knockout round for the UEFA Champions League, the first leg will be held at The Sports Direct Arena

Toon's lack of end product ensures bore draw
View attachment 236924Steven Taylor works tirelessly out of position to earn MoMView attachment 236923Newcastle United failed to impress at Carrow Road against a struggling Norwich who were able to withstand every Newcastle attack. The likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Junior Hoilett and Gylfi Sigurdsson all failed to find the net unusually as they have 26 goals between them this term. The best player on the pitch was still in a black and white shirt as Geordie boy Steven Taylor was deployed as right wing back where he worked his socks off to run up and down the line as he played a part in every defensive and attacking move.

Newcastle improve with goals against Bolton

Newcastle made up for their loss of shooting boots last time out against Norwich by slotting 4 past Bolton Wanderers at St James' Park this evening. A lively start to the game was capped by a wonderful Newcastle move which ended up with Sigurdsson curling past Bogdan, which turned out to be the only goal of the first half. However, the second half came to life with Gylfi adding his and Newcastle's 2nd on 67 minutes, shortly followed by David N'Gog scoring to liven Bolton up a bit. Trotters fans were once again silenced 3 minutes later as Gylfi secured his hattrick with a driver from an angle but as he celebrated he picked up a niggle and was forced to limp off, replaced by youngster Haris Vuckic. N'Gog popped up again on 85 mins to set up a very nervy end for the Toon but their unease was cured as Vuckic himself emerged to guarentee the win on 93 mins.

A true Newcastle fan would never resort to calling St. James' Park the Sports Direct Arena. And I see Vuckic scored, is he part of your plans?

Toon manage to end 2012 part of the campaign unbeaten
View attachment 236946Pierre back amongst scorers at White Hart LaneView attachment 236945Tyler Hutchinson's high flying Magpies have ensured that they will enter 2013 unbeaten and challenging for a 2nd successive title, something that you could not of foretold 2 years ago. Away wins at 'big teams' are now common practise and that was still the case today at the Toon were in town ready to take on Tottenham. It was in fact spurs who took the lead through a scrappy Gareth Bale goal, this was silenced however 6 minutes later through a Steven Taylor tap in from a corner. The game remained quiet for the start of the second half until Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang found space to run past 2 players and chip the ball over Gomes. This was the Gabonese forwards 1st goal in 3 games but it was enough to take all 3 points. Hutchinson stated after the game that "a number of January additions are needed to enhance our desperatley threadbare squad." Hutchinson also revealed that Adel Taraabt is considering his options after lack of action this season, the playmaker signed a new 3-year-deal in the summer. End of year standings:

If I wanted to base everything in this story solely on how I would like Newcastle and everything associated to be then it would be very different don't you think? realism is no fault..

Vuckic gets sub appearences almost every game

Fair enough to see it from a media point of view. Looking forward to your transfers in January.

Newcastle got 2013 off to the best possible start with a comfortable win away at Fulham with hotshot striker Pierre Aubameyang grabbing a brace in what has been an excellent season for him, its form that he will need to keep up as Papiss Cisse and Demba Ba will both be back from injury in the coming weeks. Its well documented that Newcastle have a thin squad through injury and international call-ups and its understood that they have been in touch with several agents and clubs. Two targets are understood to be Lassana Diarra, whom they wish to sign on loan, and Nathanial Clyne who is out of contract in the summer and Hutchinson is very keen on the English Under-21 right back.

27 year old French midfielder Lassana Diarra has signed on loan for Newcastle United as he looks to seal a transfer away from Sevilla following a fallout with his coach there. Hutchinson will utilise Diarra as cover should more injuries occur, on top of that the African Cup of Nations takes place this month which could see Cheick Tiote away for nearly two months. Diarra is excited to join the champions and hopes he can star for them when called upon for the remainder of the campaign.

In other news, Newcastle have won in the 3rd round of the FA Cup as a Ben Arfa goal sealed a 1-0 win over Peterborough at St James' Park

Newcastle were involved in yet another 4-2 masterclass at St James' Park. Pierre Aubameyang opened the scoring after skipping through the defence and slipping the ball home to score his 14th goal of the season. Then Belgian centre-back Jan Vertonghen scored a header to open his account for this season where he has been somewhat unlucky with injuries, his goal was soon followed by an Villa own goal by Gabriel Hienze. Then young Canadian winger Hoilett silenced Villa's two goal fightback with a late curler from the edge of the box.

Newcastle looked as if they played to defend today which is unusual from Tyler Hutchinson who normally executes good-looking, free flowing attacking football. However Steven Taylor thrived in their game direction as he kept the backline in check excellently and The Magpies never looked like conceding for the full 90 minutes, they were perhaps unlucky to grab themselves 2 or 3 goals aswell. Newcastle are starting to get their numbers back now as Sammy Ameobi and Shane Ferguson have returned from successful loan spells the biggest boosts are that Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse are two weeks and one week away respectively from returning to full training.
