F.C. Barcelona: A Giant Falls

Tried to do a database like this one, but my game kept crashing before the first league game :(

Pre-Season

A solid pre-seaosn gives me a good platform to stay up this year. With pretty much the entire team
making their club debuts this term so I was not expecting much. Like many would expect, Barcelona's youth
team is set up to be a fantastic passing side; interchanging their passes well while moving off the ball to
create space.

I've gone with a strikerless formation considering Barcelona do not play with a traditional creator/scorer system. Instead, Barcelona's philosophy revolves around every member of the team moving off the ball to create space and using short passes to keep the attacking arm of the team pivoting. This is very difficult for defenses to deal with since it both stretches and contracts teams.

Haven't seen that formation before, can we see your team?

That'll be in the next update mate.

Any chance of uploading the database?

Tried to do it last night but The uploader wouldn't recognise the File Format (I know, baffling to me too)
I'm going to have a look at it tonight and see if I can get it up. I hate File Sharing servers so I won't be doing it externally.

Can you upload your tactic? The strikerless tactic seems interesting for me, I might give it a try.

It's a tactic that revolves around players with good creativity, off the ball and workrate.
There are no outstanding finishers (I'd argue Barca don't train strikers) since I'm not looking for one person to be the No.10

Be sure to make sure your squad is full of players who will play the ball rather than run with it.
ie, looks for the pass rather than shot, dictates tempo, tries killer balls often; These PPM's are beneficial.

Sergi Roberto, Sergi Gomez and Montoya should be some of your key players! But mostly Marc Bartra, try to negotiate a new contract with him, in order to push up his buy out clause!

Unless your a Barcelona fan, I doubt you'll recognize half the team :P

I am not a Barcelona fan, but I follow their youth team and would be interesting to see which of them you're using for your first team (hope you'll give David Babunski a chance to prove :P )

Marc Bartra handed in a transfer pretty much the moment I arrive at the club. Sold him to Arsenal for 15M Euro.

Sergi Roberto is a beast in midfield!
Sergi Gomez is a rock at the back and I trust him to take the ball out of defense
Moyata initially requested a trasfer (which I accepted) but he's since requested he be taken off the T.List

I wonder what happened to Barcelona 'B'?

In the editor, I moved them to the Tercera Division: Group 5 (Catalonia)

When doing the same thing, Bartra never put in a transfer request, and even when rejecting offers from big clubs, he didn't get unhappy! Sadly manchester city decided to activate his buy out claus!

I reduced Barca's reputation from 9000 to 6000, so that probably was what made the difference.

Yeah, that's probably it :) For remembered that I forgot to do so, probably why it kept crashing before the first game of the league! :)
