Just watched 'Red State'.

Thought it was awful, disappointing as Kevin Smith has done some decent films in the past, and could have done so much more with the film, but it was just woeful.

In time: 7/10: I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would, I bought into the concept of time very early and very quickly, I think Justin is a good actor as well! Maybe I was also in the right mood for this type of movie. It was good!

Watched the Hunger Games at the cinema recently. Thought it was very over-rated and missed a lot out of the plot, especially the start and end - didn't set up the scene prior to the selection well enough for me especially, theres a lot missing out of the film and I feel that the "fight to the death" sort of scenario was done very very well in Battle Royale and would take some serious beating, which the Hunger Games didn't deliver.

JUst watched Aliens after a **** of a long time. Definately stands the test of time. Absolute classic. 10/10

Oh.

Recently watched:

Hunger Games: 2/10. Appalling.
21 Jump Street: 8/10. Very funny, well cast, worth a watch.

I don't know if any of you lot do Possession films, but has anyone actually seem Grave Encounters? I typed it into Google and lets just say, the picture that greeted me was not pretty....

Man on a Ledge: 6.5/10: Was not the best of movies, but worth a watch, no real twists/turns, pretty bland!

Some recent movies I've watched

Thor - 8/10 - Brilliant movie. Really looking forward to "The Avengers"
Cars 2 - 9.5/10 - Yeah, I know... But the movie actually had a great meaning to it.
Terminator Salvation - 7.5/10 - Better than I expected.
Phonebooth - 7/10 - Meh... No real "action", but it was still quite alright.
Abduction - 8/10 - Great movie. Deffo worth a watch
Pirates of the carribbean: On stranger tides - 6.5/10 - Meh... The worst of the 4, imo.
Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 - 4/10 - Oh god, why?

I saw Thor the other day, was looking forard to it but I'd only give it 6/10 just seemed a bit pointless really

To elaborate.... He walks through a government operation kikcing the **** out of everyone and then finally gets arrested.... Some science bloke has a chat with the FBI dudes and he is let out straight away!? I know none of its real and he has super powers etc (lol) but that just seemed retarded. Anyway, that wasn't my main problem. I was more annoyed at how he suddenly has feelings for this girl - and she for him, when they barely had a conversation through the film, pointless attempt at making a romance part in a film. Bore...

Agree with raikan, I thought Moneyball was awesome (despite every scene involving baseball terms confusing the **** out of me).

Recently watched Hard Boiled, doubt I'll ever see a film with a higher death count...

Suprisingly most people have.
tbf a lot of the films with higher body counts are war films.
altho even by characters the film stiff isn't in the top 5 shoot em up is 2nd and equilibrium is 3rd. Id reccomend equilibrium.not that you would get much in the way of a great story line but the action scenes are quality worth a watch.

I saw battleship the other night. A really good film. Well I. Terms of action anyway. CGI was really good and some of the scenes were brilliant but I felt the story a bit lacking. In terms of alien invasions in the past 5 years I'd put battle Los Angeles above it.

Equilibrium 7/10
Battleship 7/10

Underworld Awakening: 6/10 A decent action movie, Kate is sexy, thats about it, it feels more like a series of Vampire Diaries or True Blood now more than anything else!

The Vow: 7/10 A chick flick my missus wanted to see, it turned out not half bad at all, a good romantic movie to watch with a lady friend to get her in the mood!

To watch list:

Puss in Boots, Grave Encounters, Immortals, Haywire, Battleship

Saw Rise of The Foot Soldier... I am speechless. This is surely a 10/10! This movie is just a MASTERPIECE , and thinking all of this was real, holy ****, i am not a reader, but i am going to buy Muscle by Carlton Leach, the guy from the movie.. Best movie i've seen..

Book is good mate ( I read it a long time before RoFS came out though!)

If you liked that film then check out Essex Boys, based on same story. AND another called Bonded by Blood

I really enjoyed it, just seemed like my type of film

Films i've seen recently are:

Drive: Annoyed me how he pulled 1 facial expression in the film and it took him 8 seconds to reply whenever someone spoke to him but other than it was a decent film.

The double: Not very good, pointless twist in it, wouldn't watch it again

Strange Wilderness: One of the funniest films i've seen in a long time, loved it from start to finish.

The Sitter: Very very funny film Jonah Hill is a great actor.

American Reunion: It's American Pie, how can anyone not love it?, brought back bits from the first one which was great.

I agree with you on Contraband, trailers made it look great but it was a very poor film.
MI4 was decent, just like all the others, didn't disappoint.

I've seen Haywire, was average for me, wasn't the worst but definitely wasn't the best.
