Chronicle: 8.3/10 I was completely engrossed with this movie from start to finish, really good dark, deep movie with a lot of underlying tones.. I highly recommend this to others!

How does she do it: 4/10 Chick flick my missus was adamant on getting one :) It was watchable...
 
The Divide. High hopes after the beginning.....but boy did they plummet faster than a hot air balloon with a major puncture. Flawed parts, boring characters, mish-mashed with Saw-type bits, convoluted story.....and why did the nuclear attacks happen anyway? No explanation. Waste of 2 hours-don't bother.

Limitless- really enjoyed it and the first film I have found interesting in a while. 8/10
 
monsieur lazhar 10/10 amazing...not much I can say about this film

American Pie: Reunion 8.5/10 not the same type of amazing, but very funny, specially if you get the hints about older movies
 
Saw The Dictator yesterday, was pretty funny. Not as good as Borat I would say but still pretty good. 8/10
 
Has anyone seen 'The Avengers' and could give some comments on it, thinking of going to watch it with a friend but not sure if it any good?
 
The avengers assemble 9/10
Its really fynnu imo and has good moments. Just not quite perfect and lacks something but well worth a watch.
 
The People Under the Stairs

**** film. Reminded me slightly of the 'burbs, but it is much much worse.
 
BATTLESHIP: Pro American drivel with some of the worst most puke invoking acting ive ever seen. Aliens are heavily copied from other better films are a cross between transformers and predator. Liam Neeson's American accent? Laughable. All in all just awful film. 2/10

JOHN CARTER: Not as bad as i thought it would be, reminded me a lot of the 80s Flash Gordon film, but i believe Flash Gordon was copied from the John Carter stories originally so no surprise really. Decent family fare. 6/10

CHRONICLE: I liked this film, it was a very different take on super hero/super powers film. Original and a decent story. 8/10

RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES: Absolutely loved this movie. Engrossing and entertaining throughout. Even if your not a huge Planet of the Apes fan i recommend you watch this film. Best film of 2011 in my opinion. Very Enjoyable 9/10

WAR HORSE: Not an epic war film, more like a feature length episode of Black Beauty. However it is a decent watch if a little corny but certainly not terrible. One for the Mrs. 7/10

If you like super hero movies you will love it. Even Sherlock Holmes makes an appearance in a metal suit.
 
Immortals: 6/10 I was highly disappointed in this movie, I was expecting it along the lines of 300 which is still one of the coolest movies ever made.. Bring on Wrath of the Titans!

John Carter: 6.5/10 I was also not that happy with this, I have always like Taylor Kitcsh from Friday Night Lights but was a little dry in this movie and the acting was not up to my standard..

The Thing: 4/10 This was truelly pathetic, I was expecting something a little more exciting/thrilling, it barely explained anything, nothing eventful actually happened either... poor show! The original was better!
 
Now got membership for cinema with the missus so rarely anything worth watching I miss.

Recently seen on DVD Moneyball, for any Liverpool fan, or for that matter anyone who likes football, it is definitely worth a watch and having a real think about how that film and it's ideas can apply to football. 7.5/10

Also saw Prometheus a few days back, quality film and well worth a watch, might leave you a bit frustrated at how many unanswered questions you are left with at the end of the film, clever ploy for a sequel there. 8/10

MIB3 - big let down, easy to watch but that series has got worse per version. 5/10

glad Ridley Scotts return to Sci Fi is going good
, and thanks for the MIB3 tip lol, i thought it might **** the bed since they apparently didn't have the script finished while filming

Last movie i saw was Invincibles, a really great French movie, quite touching and has great music
 
Just watched The Untouchables- Mob moves in the days of Al Capone and how he was brought down. Very good movie and it will be worth your time. 8/10

Also look at the cast- Kevin Costner, Robert De Niro, Sean Connery and Andy Garcia. You will be hard-pressed to find such a excellent group of actors in a movie anywhere else

I watched this a couple of weeks ago and didn't really think it was that good. Goodfellas, Casino and Once upon a time in America are all better IMO.
 
Yeah ditto on The Untouchables. All of the above are quality gangster films, I'd add Scarface to that list as well, although I don't think any of them can touch the Godfather trilogy.

Not a film but the Boardwalk Empire series is well worth a watch for anyone into that kind of genre.
 
I watched Project X earlier. I wouldn't say its a must watch but its a funny film to watch especially if you're with people. Just a bit of mad film really with no real plot but its easy watching.
 
lads and any lasses im in need of a list of movies to watch. I have signed up with lovefilm for a month free and want to take advantage of it.

My genres i like are documentary films, thrillers, horrors. I have a thing for prison and gangster films too.
