Fortress (2011) - MovieMeter.nl

Fortress (2011) - terrible....just terrible. Rubbish CGI for absolutely no reason at times, just because they could.

1/10 is generous....only because i watched it all the way through.....0/10 only comes if it was so bad a stopped watching it

Started watching Street Kings on TV last night. Was really getting into it but fell asleep.

Keanu Reeves was good in it as well. Nothing will ever top the first Matrix though
 
Prometheus

Garbage! Big fan of Ridley Scott and huge fan of the Alien franchise but by God was I disappointed with this 'prequel'. The prequel will require a sequel to make sense of it

was the problem you didnt understand what happened or that you didnt know how it fit into the Alien series? Because it wasnt really a prequel....it touched on things and was set in the same 'universe' but that was about it
 
Sleepers with Robert De Niro, Kevin Bacon, Dustin Hoffman, Jason Patric and Bradd Pitt. An absolutely outstanding piece of movie-making that just HAS to be seen-but it's also harrowing, grim stuff.

Withnail and I is such a good film, and Richard E Grant is just tremondous with his quips. 10/10.

Next stop Letters from Iwo Jima
 
Wanderlust - 4/10: Paul Rudd and Jennifer Anniston you would expect a little more.. Some funny parts but it looked like the movie was thought up and written over a joint in one evening and somehow got these two to act in it.. Waste of time!
 
Shawshank Redemption with Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins
a fantastic movie, one of the best i've seen in my life

Lol, we watched that in Grade 8, still one of my favourite movies.. It is brilliant!

I haven't seen Prometheus but from an interview I heard with Sir Ridley it sounded as though there was a lot of cuts made to the film by the studio so expect a Directors Cut that makes a bit of sense. He also said he hopes it would be the first in a trilogy.

It starts off pretty good and it's visually stunning to watch. The story just seemed to lose focus at the end, not great but it's worth a watch.

Expect some answers but not all of them.
 
Literally just finished watching Letters from Iwo Jima-it's just an utterly fantastic film. Very moving at times. An absolute masterpiece from Clint Eastwood. Even if you don't like war movies you simply must watch it. 10/10

It's a sort of sequel to Flags of Our Fathers in case you didn't know.

Yeah I read about that after I saw it. Apparently Flags is nowhere near as good as Letters-and tbh it would take an aboslute gem to beat it. The best thing about Letters is that there's no judging of either side-each person has a reason for doing what they did-it pretty leaves it to the person watching to decide wether that person is right or wrong. It's rare that a war film has actually made me think so much.
 
Litterally just finished watching "127 Hours". Really great movie imo.
 
Seen Prometheus and Ill Manors in the past 2 weeks. Prometheus had amazing graphics and Ill Manors was a very good film.
 
Recently seen The Pact, not that good tbh. For a scary movie the were very few scares and the storyline wasn't great. In hindsight it wasn't worth the trip to the cinema. 3/10.
